I don't own anything but the story. Joss and the WB own everything else.

Part Four

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Xander's so called time limit was just about up. As planned, they all met back in the same spot. Willow held in one hand, a small plastic bag that contained the ancient lamp she'd purchased at 'Untold Treasures.' Xander had gone all the way and now wore the complete outfit of that which he called himself Private Harris. The man who ran the store had become annoyed and had threatened to call security, if Xander didn't put his newfound "costume" back. So Xander had in turn done the exact opposite and bought it.

Buffy ironically also had her own little bag which read: "Nathan's Jewelers" in big black letters upon it. Angel still lingered about and stood looking over the railing, at the people walking below, seeing that they were on the very top floor of the large building.

Xander frowned in his direction. "Do you need a ride home or something?"

"Why?" Angel asked, turning around to face him, his profile set in its usual brooding appearance.

"I just assumed you did, that's all. No offense or anything."

"Because I happen to be hanging about?"

"Angel bought me something!!!" Buffy gushed, changing the subject and trying to prevent an argument between them. Opening up her little bag, she pulled out a small bracelet with a tiny cross attached to it.

"How much was it?" Willow inquired. "It's beautiful. Isn't it Xander?"

"Did he steal it?" Came the reply.

"Xander," Willow scolded. "How can you be so mean-"

"Will, are you trying to tell me he's just had it all stashed and saved for a rainy day?"

"Not that it's any of your business.....and oh could you have a stupider outfit!!!" Buffy shot at him. "So, what'd you get, Will?"

"It's an old lamp," Willow said proudly. "I'm hoping it has a history, so I can talk to Giles-"

"Giles. Now there's a great subject," Buffy muttered sadly.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to take a look at that lamp later," Angel offered softly.

"Sure," Willow said.

"He speaks," Xander added, using full sarcasm then.

"He's a dork," they all heard Cordelia say, referring to Xander, as she sped by once more. "You guys are still in the same spot? Weird. Borrowing mom's car again, Xander?"

"I'm sorry if it bothers you your majesty. We all wish we were as rich and stuck up as you. Don't we gang?"

"Whatever he said," Buffy agreed happily.

"What are your traumas?" She scoffed and began to pick up her pace. "Aura, don't leave without me!!! They still have a sale at Glamour World, you know."

"And only Cordy would know," Xander joked.

"What do you say we get gone?" Buffy brought forth.

"But Buffy," Willow protested. "We've really only spent half an hour, if that here."

"Danger's coming," Angel spoke up. His expression soft and worried.

"And you waited to tell us this because?" Xander demanded.

"I just sensed it now-"

"Is it vampires?" Buffy asked.

"It's something close," Angel looked around him. "We should go, Xander. We don't exactly know what it is we're looking for."

"Will I ever be able to have fun?" Buffy moped. "Giles told me you said something was up."

"This isn't vampires....I don't think."

"Maybe we can wish on Willow's magic lamp and make it all go away," Xander wondered out loud.

"Xander," Buffy warned, seeing that his sarcasm had reached the maximum.

"Buffy you should get to Giles," Willow suggested. "Maybe he's found something out."

"Yeah," Buffy said. "Maybe." Then, looking at Angel. "Do you need a lift back?"

"Well.....I.....I wouldn't want to-" he began.

"Oh, c'mon. Xander doesn't mind."

"I don't?" Came his reply, right before Willow jabbed him in the ribs with her elbow. "No. Right. I don't."

He nodded slowly and Buffy took his hand and calmly led him away. Willow and Xander just looked on, in pure awe, as they soon followed.

"So she leaves with him too?" Was Cordelia's comment, as she bounced out of Glamour World. "What's wrong with this picture? Am I sensing a personal problem?"

Rupert Giles sat at the graveyard, weapons concealed carefully in Buffy's large duffel bag. Only Buffy hadn't shown up. He decided he must have a talk with her about this slacking off ritual every now and then. She must stick to her duties as a slayer.

"Do you always plan an early death?" Came a familiar voice behind him, that made him jump nearly two feet high in the air, from the shock.

Ms. Calendar, the teacher who was in tune with computer science at Sunnydale High, approached him cautiosly, a smile on her face.

"Jenny, what are you doing out here so late?"

"Did I frighten you, Rupert?" she questioned.

"No, no, not at all," he lied. "Buffy was supposed to meet me here. But I assume she chose the other path, and took on the role of any normal teenage girl tonight." When she looked at him, displaying a blank stare, he smiled. "The mall."

"Oh. Well. I'm sure Angel is keeping an eye on her."

"You think so?" He pondered this for a moment. "Well. All in all, I suppose that's good-"

"Rupert," she cut him off. "I have some information....on an upcoming prophecy of some sort. I received it by way of online services. I figured I'd find you here. So I thought we could maybe make a trip to the-"

"Library, right." He got up. "You haven't come across anything vam-" he started.

"I'll tell you on the way there," she said softly.
