Part Two

"Do you think Xander will like this?" Willow asked holding up a stylish black skirt. The girl was nervous. She wasn't used to revealing clothing. And this skirt definitely said it all.
Buffy frowned. "Will. Why do you always dress to impress? If Xander were in love with you, what you wear won't matter to him. Honest. He so won't notice."
"Are you saying he's not interested?"
"You know what I mean. He's not one to go to extremes."
"For you, he is. You should have seen him when you went off to fight the master. He went ballistic."
"Really?" Buffy really hadn't taken the time to see thorugh to his feelings, since that day. Did he still feel the same way?
"Yeah. He's so jealous of you and Angel. Can't you tell by the way he responds to the conversations we have? He's still in love with you. I'm not blind." The pretty girl paused a moment. "I should get on with my life, find some other guy. But I just can't walk away without at least hearing his answer."
"Then go for it. Just blend the question into the subject of tonights interest."
"What if he doesn't take me seriously? I mean, in case you haven't noticed, Xander is almost always-"
"Sarcastic. Yeah. I so see it. But you won't know until you ask."
"Yeah.....oh.....okay. So you're thinking the black?"
"No. I'm thinking a pair of tight black slacks and a spaghetti strap."
Willow had a worried look about her. "Great. I'll stick to the basics, thanks."
"And that would be?"
"A dress," Willow told her. "With flowers."
Buffy smirked. "Will. C'mon."
"Buffy. I'm not going to make a total fool of myself in front of him. He'll know something's up."
"Isn't that what we're hoping for here?" Buffy frowned and threw on a trendy, but revealing pink skirt and a white top that almost showed her midriff. She pulled out her black boots and gently pulled them on.
"What do ya think?" she asked, looking at her friend for a response.
"Are you gonna....wear a skirt with that?" Willow asked, both astonished and shocked.
"Willow, grow up. This is so the 90's." Buffy smiled. "I only wish you'd do the same."
"No," she replied matter of factly. "I really don't think I'd want Xander to see me in that. Definitely not-"
The doorbell rang then. Buffy shrugged and ran down to answer it.
Xander stood on the other side of the door, clothed in his usual attire. He looked rather handsome, she thought to herself. Smiling , she turned the knob. "Hey, Xan. Looks like you're wheel man tonight."
"Yeah. I finally convinced Mom to let me take the car out. She had to get the Chinese delivered."
Buffy laughed. "Will should be down in just a minute."
Xander didn't seem to get the hint. "Cool. Hey, nice skirt Buff."
Buffy knew this would happen. Willow could have worn this. And she could have been the one to get this reaction. That poor girl has got to come out of her shell. "Thanks, Xander. You look real great too."
"Hi Xander," Willow's voice could be heard as she shyly made her way down the stairs. Her outfit was a simple pair of tan slacks and a flowered top. As usual.
"Hey Willow. Nice to see you could join us."
Isn't he going to compliment me, she wondered. Why is he still so hung up on Buffy?
Buffy loudly cleared her throat. "Guys. We do have a deadline to keep."
Xander smiled. "And what would that be?"
"To get moving! All the good selections will be picked over, if we don't get our butts in gear."
"Girls and clothes," Xander muttered. "You know there really is no coming between them. And it's the same when they use their phones. A poor guy could die from asking about quality time."
"Xander, don't feel bad. Guys have their moments too," Willow told him softly.
"Not me," he said quickly.
Buffy laughed and locked the door behind her. Xander held open their car doors for them and they piled inside the borrowed vehicle.
"So what's on the agenda tonight?" Willow offered, breaking the new found silence.
"I'm visiting 'Untold Treasures'," Xander told her. "Maybe there's some army memorbilia I can consume. Instead of rummaging through those sissy magazines."
"Army men-" Buffy started.
"Army men are buff," Xander interrupted. "And they attract the most women. Which is more than I can say for you, when it comes to men and slaying."
"Buffy has Angel," Willow smiled.
Xander frowned. "Speaking of which, is not here tonight. Buffy, is it donation day at the hospital again?"
"Xander. Like a human, he has to survive. You don't see him killing people off left and right and I respect him for that."
"You would. You've got a thing for him. What does he have that I don't?"
"Mystery," Willow proclaimed.
"And humor doesn't count? Man, you guys really know how to put a guy down."
"Humor is good, when you're having a happy," Buffy reminded him.
"I'm just good for a happy then," Xander responded. They pulled into the mall parking lot. "Man, everybody and their brother is here."
"Then there's also vamps," Buffy told them, looking out her window. "Xander stop the car and excuse me for a second."
"Sure thing, Buff." He turned back to Willow. "Will we ever be normal teenagers? No. See, it took some time at first. But the hellmouth plots to make our lives miserable. Therefore, we are doomed. Now look at Buffy. That's classic. You know Will. I think I sense a happy clicking in."
"No, Xander. It's sarcasim. Remember?" Willow sighed and watched Buffy fight three vamps at the entrance. He was right. It was classic having a friend as cool as Buffy. Classic.......
