Buffy Season 8
I HAVE REMEMBERED YOU (NOTE: THE NAME OF THIS STORY/EPISODE WAS INSPIRED BY THE ANGEL SEASON
ONE EPISODE I WILL REMEMBER YOU WHICH GUEST STARRED SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR. THE EPISODE HAS
NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT STORY LINE, THOUGH.)
"Oz? Oz, is that really you? What are you doing here? I never expected to see you again." Take a wild guess at who
said this.
"Well, the band ws in town on a gig. But, also, I've just been getting these wierd vibes, possibly a werewolfy
side-affect, and I knew this place offered good things. I ran into Faith, Xander, Dawn, and this wierd chap. They had
Giles by the arms, he was knocked out."
"So, where are you playing?"
"A little club on the other side of town. You should show."
"I wouldn't miss you...it for the world. I haven't been to a Dingoes show in ages."
"I don't think any of us have. But, I do know that I want Xanders broken Three Musketeers," said Buffy, snatching the
bar from the fellow.
"Yeah," started Faith, "you had that the whole time and you didn't share? How dare you?"
"Okay, a little chocolatey goodness for everyone then," he replied.
"See, Buffy? There is chocolate in our paradise."
"So, I gotta go get ready for the gig. Hows about I meet you right here at about 8:30?"
"That's great, we would love to meet you here at 8:30, Oz!" Willow said, excitedly.
"Okay then, it's a date." Oz walked off, as if he didn't even want to get reacquainted with Willow. But that ws okay,
she had made it all this time without him, she could wait another few hours to see him again.
"My God, I didn't think I'd ever see him again. And I can't believe he's still with Dingoes. Can you, Will?"
"Well, he'd told me a while back that he wanted to go big. Maybe this is his time."
"Maybe. So I guess this really is our paradise. We could all get jobs, and rent a hotel until we can afford some
apartments, and so on and so on!"
"Buff, can you lose the ambition? Willow just got a huge bomb dropped on her."
"You're right. I'm sorry. That was so totally rude of him to walk out on you like that."
"No, that wasn't the bombshell."
"Oh, yeah. Maybe I'll just stop talking."
The gang sat on the side walk, thinking about their situation, and how it was not much better than the one they had
been in before. "So, Xander, I've been thinking," Faith began, but was interrupted by Xander.
"What, I wasn't listening."
"Well, I've been thinking, and I... thought, well maybe..."
"You aren't going to say what I think you're going to say are you?"
"I don't think so. Well, Buffy needs a fellow in her life, and I thought maybe you should..."
"Oh, look, Faith. I've only liked Buffy in high school, and she didn't want to go out with me then. Why would she
now?"
"NOt you. I was going to say you should fix her up with Andrew."
"Well, someone's desperate for a good laugh, aren't they."
"We've been stuck on that bus for ages."
"Can't blame you, just can't blame you."
"Yeah, when would I ever try to fix anyone up like that? 'Buffy needs a fellow!'"
"Ah, that was the highligh of my day."
Moving to a different conversation.
"So, Willow, how are you holding up? Seeing Oz like that must have just..."
"Made my day! Buffy, this could be my chance to get back together with Oz!"
"But what about Tara and Kennedy? Were they... nothing to you?"
"Buffy, I thought they were evertything to me, and it killed me when they died. But, emphasize the word thought in
that sentence, Oz, wasn't just my boyfriend, he was my best friend. And now that he's back, I can be with him. I
can..."
"Leave us?"
"Buffy, don't even think of it that way."
"But, that is what you'd be doing, right? Leaving us?"
"Buffy, come on."
"You're right, I should be happy for you, and I should give you time to think about it."
"Buffy, there's nothing to think about."
"What do you mean, there's nothing to think about? There's everything to think about. What if he says he can't let you
come with him, or he has a girlfriend, or what if he doesn't want to be with you yet?"
"Buffy, if those things happen, then I can just stay here with you guys."
"You mean them. Willow, I'm not saying I don't want you to be with Oz, because I do want you to be with him. But
you word it like that and it makes me feel like a last resort."
"Buffy, you are my first resort. If anything happens, good or bad, haven't I always come to oyu first?"
"I'm sorry, I'm just so... tired, hungry, et cetera, et cetera."
"I can totally understand that."
"So, how much money do we have?"
"I don't have much. Two dollars maybe. You?"
"A buck fifty."
"Xander, how much money do we have?"
"I think we counted nineteen bucks."
"Well, if we go to the thrift store, we could get some cheap stuff to where to the club tonight. 19 bucks divided by
Faith, Xander, Dawn, Andrew, Willow, Buffy. How much is that, Willow?"
"I thinks it's about..... 3.16. That's how much we'd be anle to spend, each of us, including tax."
"Well, we could each by a t-shirt."
"Or maybe a slinky dress. For us girls. What are we going to do about the guys?"
"Maybe they'd be glad to give us their money and they can just where what they are?"
"Possibly. Ask."
"Guys, can we have your money, so you can just where what you are now to the club?"
"Darn, I was looking to by a new dress...."
"Xander, grow up and give me your money. You too, Andrew."
"Fine. Here."
"Willow..."
"Nineteen divided by four is about 4.75."
"Now we get to enjoy more walking."
"Yeah, you guys had it good riding in he bus with Crazy Giles. We had to walk the whole way."
Faith didn't exactly agree with this statement. She began to rant and rave about how riding on the bus was indeed
not fun, in fact it was horrible, do you think she enjoyed attacking Giles? "And besides," she continued, "I'm not
keeping with this crap any way. I'm splitting in the morning."
"You're splitting in the morning. If you're going to go, go now." Faith had horribly upset Buffy now. "Your scum self is
going to use our money to get by and then ditch us. What am I saying? You're Faith, I should expect this from you."
"What is that supposed to mean? This is so like you, B. You always whine and complain when you don't like
something. Well I got news for you..."
"What? Say it. Look me in the eye and tell me whatever you want, Faith."
"Watch it."
"Watch what? Your back all the time? Watch you go out in party while I patrol and do our duty? Watch you go evil?
Watch you go evil and kill my boyfriend so that I almost kill you? Well, I got news for you, I really think you should
watch it."
Silence fell upon the scoobies. Well, atleast for a few seconds. "WOO! CAT FIGHT!"
"Xander, grow up!"
"Sorry."
The gang decided that they were going to walk until they found one of those cheap stores. Buffy spoke up, breaking
the unbearable silence. "I don't think Faith should get the money."
"What? Just because you're mad at me for trying to stay alive doesn't mean that I shouldn't get to be as upper as
you."
"Faith, I don't think you should get the money."
"I don't need a new dress. I don't need you. I'm out. Don't come crawling to me when you need me."
"If anyone crawls, it'll be you."
"Out." Faith turned away, never to be seen by any Scooby yet. Key word: YET!
"OOH! I think we found something!"
"Will, don't get over excited."
"Well, Miss Buffy, maybe you aren't excited enough."
"Buffy, come on, we been in this town for hours, and all we seen nothing but desert."
"Look at Miss Cowchic."
"Ah-thank you."
"Ahhh. My best friend, her best friend. Who is also my best friend. It feels like high school times, only Dawn and
Andrew are here."
"So. We've been dragging him around for a long time. How hard did you guys hit him?"
"Pretty hard. But he should be in to it by now."
"Maybe he was into it. But then... fell asleep. Wake him up."
"But...he might be crazy."
"Do you need a Slayer for everything, now, Xander?"
"Yes."
Buffy and Willow held down the possibly out-of-it Watcher, as Dawn and Andrew shook him as hard as any two
people possibly could. Nothing.
"Willow, can you do a spell. Wake him up? Make him sane?"
"Well... I don't know. It's really complicated, Buffy. I don't even have any supplies."
"You didn't need any supplies before."
"That was a really basic spell, I only needed to be in a circle. Buffy, even if I had the supplies, I don't know if I cou;d
do it. It isn't that easy."
"Well, can you try?"
"We don't have any money."
"Do you know any simple invisibility spells?"
"Yeah. I'll try. Let's go behind this building. I don't think it would be wise to dissapear in public."
The gang went behind a large warehouse. Everyone sat down and hel hands in a circle, eyes closed. "Who's going
invisible? It can't be me, it has to be someone else. Buffy?"
"Yeah sure, I'll do it."
"Everyone ready?"
"Yup."
"Alright. I call upon you, Goddess. Look unto my heart. Seek out my request, just ignore the rest. Buffy to invisible.
Nothing else."
Right before their closed eyes, Buffy began to disappear, head to toe. "Okay. Open your eyes. Can anyone see
Buffy?"
"I'm drawing an invisible blank."
"Cool. It worked then. Now, Buffy, anything you touch becomes invisible, and anything that you touch that turns
invisible that touches something turns it invisible. You have to be very careful. If you let go, it becomes visible again."
"Got it. Now, let's find a Magic shop."
The gang walked for what they thought was miles, until they found a magic shop. "Okay, what's on the list?"
"Well, I need canary feathers, sage, and there's this oil, I don't know what it's called, you'll know it when you see it.
It's like an ugly brownish red color. That's all."
"Okay... canary feathers, sage, ugly oil, canary feathers, sage, ugly oil..."
"Buffy, try not to talk, we can hear you."
"Okay." Buffy walked toward the store, but then stopped. "Do I really want to do this?" She thought. "I mean, what if
something happens, and I can't go back? What if I'm in danger like last time? What if they firget about me?" She
continued thinking the horriblle thoughts. "No. Wait. I'm the Slayer, and I can handle it. I can handle." She accidentally
said it aloud on the third time. "I can handle it."
"Hey! Who said that?" said a passerby.
Willow looked at Xander. It wasn't exactly a good look. "She's going to screw up, I can just feel it, Xand."
"Have a little faith, Will. She's your best friend. You're just nervous."
"I guess you're right. I just... she's already talking out loud. Can she do it?"
"Yes, Willow, she can do it. Say it with me. She can do it."
"She can do it."
"There you go. Faith restored. My own little spell."
"Thanks."
Buffy pushed open the door. Slowly it began to disappear. "Damn!" She ran through quickly so no one would notice
that it was going away. Soon it was fully reappeared. "Okay. Canary feathers. I need canary feathers." she thought.
"Ahhh, canary feathers." Casually, Buffy picked up the feathers so that no one would notice their disappearance.
"Okay.... ugly oil. I need that ugly oil. It isn't here... crap! What am I going to do?" Buffy looked all over for the ugly
colored oil. She could swear she went around the store a million times, not noticing once that she was passing it up.
"Ah, finally, I found it. 2 down, one to go. Sage... I need sage. Where is it?" By making her next move, Buffy was
taking a serious risk. She said out loud, standing in between two people, "Hey, where's the sage?"
"On the table by the door."
"Thanks."
Buffy had gotten extremely lucky. The person had not even looked at her as she spoke. She grabbed the sage and
quickly headed out the door before any one noiced that it was her that spoke. She ran up the steps of the old shop
and toward the gang across the street. "you guys, I got the stuff, let's head out."
"You got it all?"
"Yeah, let's go. I made a really risky move in their, we gotta head out before they notice I stole."
"We need to find another empty building before I make you visible."
"Like that one?" Dawn asked.
"Very wise, Dawny." All went behind the building and once again assumed their positins. "Ready? Alright. I call upon
you, Goddess. Look unto my heart. Seek out my request, just ignore the rest. Buffy to invisible. Nothing else."
"I think I'm viso-gal again."
"Good, let's go inside and do the spell. It's too risky doing it out here."
Everyone walked around to the front of the run-down building, hoping they wouldn't be spotted. They ran up the
stairs once inside to the very top floor. "Okay, I think we're good. Even if someone does come in, it took us twenty
four minutes to climb those stairs. Is everyone ready to begin? Form a circle around Giles. Jist lie him down. Yeah.
Okay, now, Buffy, pour the oil around him in a counterclockwise direction, starting at his feet. Okay, now, Dawn, give
everyone a canary feather, and Andrew follow her putting a little sage on each feather. Now, I am going to sprinkle
the remaining sage on Giles, it represents healing power...maybe. My book's a little old. Now everyone hold there
feather outstretched in one hand, the other hand holding the person to the right of yours' arm. Ready? Here we go."
The gang sat quietly, all eyes on Willow. "Every one stare directky across. I'm going to begin the chant now. Bring to
life without strife. Bring to life without strife. Bring to life without strife. Bring to life without strife."
Willow chanted on for atleast an hour. She had earlier explained on the way up the stairs that the ritual ws going to
take a long time.
"STRIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Ah! Where am I? Who are you people? And what the bloody hell is this stuff you've got on me?"
"Giles?"
"That's me. Prefer Ripper. Who are you and why am I old?"
"Giles, it's me, Buffy. You're my Watcher, remember?"
"I'm no one's Watcher yet. Stay away from me."
"Giles, come on stop screwing around. We don't have time to waste."
"You performed some sort of spell on me. I do spells to. Hey, maybe I could give you a ring sometime?"
"Well, atleast he isn't homicidal any more. And he doesn't want Dawn."
"No, now he wants me. I can't believe Giles is like... our age now. That's so scary. Oh, and actually, you've got my
number Giles."
"Oh. Are we....dating?"
"No, I'm gay. And we have to go or we'll be late to the club. We still have to find it."
"We're going dancing? How jackass is that?"
"Not a kind of club you know. A fun club. An old friend of ours is playing their tonight. I really miss him."
"Maybe you could hook up tonight. You know, maybe you and Oz could hang out after the show."
"Willow come on Oz is already waiting for us up there."
"Buffy, could we talk for a minute. Yeah sure. Hay, Xander, tell the others Will and I wwill be there in a minute. What's
up?"
"Buffy, after seeing Oz today... I.... something just exploded inside of me and now I want him. Buffy, I really want Oz.
It's like I'm falling in love with him all over again. But I miss Tara so much, I would be disrespecting her."
"Willow, you love Oz. You always have. Even when you were with Tara. He obviously wants you, too. You have to
take your chance before he leaves again. If you love him, you'll take the chance."
"You're sure?"
"Positive. Will, you love him."
"Thanks."
The two great friends walked toward Oz and the gang. "You guys are a little late. I hate you."
"You hate us? Well that's a very strong term."
"I'm just kidding. We better get going."
Everyone hopped in the van and drove off to the club. "Alright, well, I better get backstage. I'll see you?"
"Of course. Right after the show."
"Willow, I miss you."
"I miss you too."
Oz climbed up the stage and disappeared behind the curtain. "Buffy, about what you told me earlier, I think I want to
talk to him after he plays. You know, the alone kind."
"Great. Willow, you know, you just have to follow your heart."
"Yeah."
The gang moved and grooved for about an hour, even Giles. Finally, Oz came back down to rejoin the gang at a table
in the back. Willow finally decided to take the chance. "Oz, can I talk to you, alone, for a while. Over there some
where?"
"Yeah, of course." The two walked toward the entrance where they were less noticable.
"Oz, I've been thinking about you every day. And when I saw you today, I just thought, 'it's my chance, my only
chance.' And I miss you so much and I want you so bad. I want to be with you. I want to be with you now, Oz, now
and forever."
"I missed you, too. And I wanna be with you. Be with me, never let me go, Willow. I left you twice and I'm so sorry."
"Oz, I won't let you ever go. Never." With that she broke into tears. "I love you, and I can't imagine life without you
now that I have you again."
"Well, they've been gone a while now."
"Who now?"
"Willow and Oz. Do you think they'll get back together, Buffy?"
"Dawn, it's hard to say. I know in their hearts they can't stay apart, but there might be certain complications that keep
them apart."
"I have the memory of when Willow and Oz broke up. I have the memory that she cried forever."
"You don't have to say that you have the memory. Dawn, you're human. You remember when it happened, not you
got the memory."
"Yeah. So, do you think she'll cry if he leaves again?"
"Probably. She loves him. She always has. They go back to junior year of high school. Which by the way,we need to
settle somewhere and get you in school. We all need jobs. Even you, Dawn."
"Oh, pickle. I don't want a job."
"Oh, boo."
"What are we going to do, Oz?"
"Willow, I decided a while ago that I want to quit the band. I wanted to quit the band a find you. Now, I found you.
Only one thing left to do."
"You're quitting for me?"
"To be with you."
"No one has ever done any thing like that just to be with me."
"Let's go find Devon."
"Where are we going to go?"
"What?"
"Well, if you're going to be with me, where are we going to go?"
"I assumed I could hang with you and the gang."
"Yeah, of course. Hey, now we have a van!"
"Yeah, let's go."
"Ummm, actually, you go ahead, I'm going to tell Buffy the news!"
"Okay."
"BUFFY!"
"Willow, something wrong?"
"No, everything's perfect. Nothing could ruin my night, Buffy. Oz is quitting the band to be with me. He says he's
never going to leave again!"
"He's quitting to be with you?"
"Well, he said he was going to quit to find me, but now that he found me, all he has left to do is quit!"
"That's so awesome! Wouldn't it be great if Angel quit his job and...."
"Buffy, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have...."
"No, Willow, don't let me keep you down on your happy day."
"Buffy, I think you should go after Angel."
"No, no I can't. He's got ot made in L.A. I can't mess things up for him."
"Buffy, if you ever want to talk, you know I'm here."
"Oh, you two stop. We need to celebrate. Buffy, wanna be m,y dancing partner?"
"Dawn, I would love to accompany you to the floor."
"Willow, coming with?"
"I think I'm going to hang out. Keep an eye on Xander and Giles for a minute."
"Hey, I was looking for you."
