Buffy the VAmpire SLayer- Season 8

Welcome to Oz Part One
NOTE: If you watch ANGEL, you'll know that Andrew comes in one episode. He says that Willow and Kennedy are in South America somewhere. In my story, however, Kennedy has died of starvation and will later be brought back to life.

The bus rattled on into the amber sun, as hunger swept the passsengers. It had been three and a half weeks since the whole gang had defeated the First and sent Sunnydale into the ground. Several of them had died, not many were left. Kennedy was one of the now dead, having passed away from starvation. It had taken Willow nearly a week to get over her. Things were getting stresfull around the bus, and there was almost no food. The gang had actually been living off demon meat for a while now. Apparently, that wasn't enough for some of them.
As the sun burned brighter, the bus drove on and on, Giles being the only one awake, driving. A silver tear rolled down Buffy's cheek. It burned into her flesh like the branding of a horse. Her sking began to smoke, and burn more and more now. The smell of it carried throughout the bus. A sleepy hand reached up to feel for what was causing the pain, but when it got there, the silver tear was gone. Buffy awoke with fright, and walked to the front of the bus. "Do you think we'll be any where soon?" Buffy asked Giles, hoping he would have good news.
"Well, I'm afraid that of all the mystical work that we've done, it won't help. We need a map."
"Maybe I... I can get something somewhere."
"And how do you propose that we do that?"
"Maybe Willow can conjure one up. Or something like that."
"Buffy, a Wicca cannot abuse his or her abilities with the Black Arts. I believe it's called bad karma."
"It isn't abusing abilities. It could save lives."
"Their's hardly anymore lives woth saving on this bus anymore."
"Yes, I know, Giles, but there still are lives, and nobody on this bus deserves to die. Even those of us who have killed people."
"Buffy, using the Black Arts to conjure a map is like using your Slaying abilities to beat me up because I can't come up with an Aristotle quote off the top of my head."
"Stop comparing Aeropostale with our lives."
"Aristotle."
"Whatever."
"Buffy, I just think it's a very bad idea. There could be dire consequenses."
"Giles, we have nothing to lose."
"Nothing but lives."
"So... do you see my point now? You're worried about everyone dying too, you just don't want to take the wimpy way out."
"Buffy, I think you should go wake everyone up."
"Why? So we can go feast on demon meat?"
"Buffy, it's better then nothing, atleast some of us are getting nourishment."
"Yeah, some of us. The ones who aren't? They're dead."
Buffy walked out of the front of the bus, to where everyone slept in the back. She shook Willow on the shoulder gently, and when she did, Willow let out a cry of panic. "Froggy where?!" Willow had always been afraid of Frogs.
"Will, its me, time for another brain bashing breakfast."
"What kind of demon are we having?"
"Mm.. Fyarl I think."
"Hey, wasn't Giles a Fyarl once?"
"Yeah, he and I are kind of having a beef right now."
"A beef?"
"You don't like it? I was just trying it out, I guess."
"I don't like it on you."
"Yeah, I'm gonna go ask Giles to burn rubber to warm up the meat."
"Yeah, um, you do that, I'll take wake up duty."
"You sure, you hate wake up duty."
"Oh, you go ahead."
Willow waited until Buffy was out of sight, and then she held out her hand, and whispered an incantation. "By the power of Wind, by the power of sea, read these people's minds to me. In the form of a silvet tear, these people's thoughts I will hear. Xander."
Willow's eyes turned to mist in the sockets. She was now seeing right into Xander's dreams.
"Hey! Willow! Wait up! If we're going to play house, you have to stop and let me catch up! Never mind! I'll be right back. You just wait right there." Little Xander ran into Willow's house and into her bedroom. He dug through the toy box until he found Willow's favorite Barbie doll. He raced back outside to show her. "Nananana boo boo! I got your Barbie!"
"Xander Harris you give me back my favorite Barbie now or I'll cry!"
"Crying is for babies. If you cry, you're like a baby!"
"Xander! Give it back!"
"No!" Little Xander broke the head off Little Willow's favorite Barbie.
"Xander LaVelle! I'm breaking up with you!"
A silver tear ran down the real Xander's cheek and began to burn into his flesh, just as it had done to Buffy. Willow's eyes turned back to normal and she began to try to figure out why Xander had been dreaming about when they were five years old. Was it possible that Xander had feelings for Willow? No, it wasn't possible it all. Willow was gay and Xander knew that she would never go out with him, besides, he had only liked Willow when she was going out with Oz.
Oz. Willow sure missed him a lot. She had figured if he had been there now, things would be easier to get through.
Giles spoke from the front of the bus. "Willow? Did you speak back there? Is there something you need?"
"Umm, no but I'm pretty sure Buffy needs you to burn rubber to heat the demon."
"Yes, of course, she has slayer abilities, but she needs help burning rubber."
"Oh, give her a break. She's been working really hard, catching demon and all. Plus, you know, she left a lot behind in Sunnydale." Willow walked up to the seat by the driver.
"She left just as much as any of us. I don't see why she gets special treatment."
"Giles, she isn't getting special treatment. And just because she left just as much in Sunnydale, doesn't mean it didn't hurt her. Her mom was buried in Sunnydale. How do you think she feels about that?"
"I was hoping you wouldn't think of that."
A call came from outside the bus. "Hello! Can I get some stinky burnt rubber service out here?"
"One moment please! Willow, do you not think she's being a tad bit whiny?"
"Look, GIles, all I'm saying is that you don't know what she's going through, how she feels. Just stay off her back."
"And what is that supposed to mean?"
"It means you shouldn't get all over her. And maybe you shuold think of her once in a while. She walked right past you to get off the bus. Sure, you stopped driving, but you didn't even ask where she was going."
"How dare you accuse me of not thinking of Buffy?! She is like a daughter to me, and a sister to you! You say that and you're hurting her more than you're hurting me."
"Giles, that doesn't make sense! All I'm saying is, you know, ask her how her day is going once in a while. I think it would cheer her up a lot."
"Fine." Giles stepped on the gas and the break at the same time so hard there was a huge fire!
Muffled screams came from outside the bus. Buffy was trapped in the fire! "Giles! Giles! Buff'y's trapped in the fire! You have to go help her! Now! Hurry up!"
Giles's eyes flashed red for a millisecond. "No. I don't want to."
"Giles! Come on! She needs help!"
"No, she can help herself."
"Giles?"
"Hey, you're an all powerful witch, why don't you do it?"
"What is wrong with you?"
"Well, I think it's you."
"You are so dead when I tell Buffy." Willow ran to the back of the bus and pulled together as much stuff as she could to make a circle. "By the power of me and the power of the Slayer, pull her soul. By the power of me and the power of the Slayer, save her soul. By the power of me, bring the Slayer. SLAYER!"
The fire now died down very quickly. Buffy lay on the ground, unconsciense. Willow ran outside, desperate to see if her best friend was okay. She didn't make it though.....

"HELP! HELP ME! SOMEBODY! HELP ME PLEASE! SOMEBODY!" screamed Willow, begging for her life. "SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME! I'VE BEEN KIDNAPPED! SOMEBODY, PLEASE!" she screamed again, but no one responded. She was being dragged through the desert by what appeared to be a vampire. But why would a vampire be out in the desert, where there was no one to feed off of? Wait... she thought, this vampire sems perfectly healthy, nice and strong. It must have fed in the past day or so, which means they were close to people. But why hadn't she seen any people? Well, she kept thinking to herself, why would any single person want to come out here? This notion puzzled her for the entire time the vampire was pulling her. They went on and on until they finally came to what appeared to be an old hotel.

Buffy awoke in a midst of smoke. Where was she, and where was the bus? Why did it smell so bad, and why was there a giant stinky... demon on top of her? "Giles? Giles? This isn't funny! Come back! Giles! Willow? Help Me!" she yelled out, hoping, just hoping, that the gang was playing a practicl joke on her, and that they would soon be back.
She decided to wait and see if they would come back until it dawned on her: This was a desert, hardly any trees, no other plant life, no buildings. Where could they hide a bus, let alone themselves?
She began to get even more scared by the second, desperately seeking help. Surely Willow and Xander and Dawn wouldn't leave her? Or would they? She tried to think if she had had a dream. No, of course not. She hadn't been out of it long enough to have a dream.
She tried to remember if she had heard anything. Buffy seemed to recall someone who sounded like Willow screaming for help. But why would she do that? She wouldn't need help if she were safe on the bus. Or maybe she wasn't on the bus....

Giles drove the bus wildly, waking up all the occupants on the bus. Dawn's self spilled on to the floor. "Giles! What the heck is wrong with you? Why are you acting so crazy?"
Giles drove off the path onto a gravely road, following it for miles and miles. About an hour along the path, Xander said,
"So, is anyone else thinking the demon meat makes you crazy?" Giles gave a giddy laugh.
"You all are going to die tonight! DEATH WILL PREVAIL! THE OLD ONES WILL WALK!"
"Giles, man, you're talking crazy!" yelled Faith.
"Giles! What's wrong with you? Where's Buffy and Willow?" Dawn fretted, as far away from the loon as she could get.
"Nothing's wrong with me, Love, you should be worried about yourself. After all, you are going to die tonight."
"Giles! Where is Buffy?"
"Dawn, Love, they're dead! You don't need to worry about them, though, Pet."
"What is wrong with you? Why did you kill my sister and my friend, and why are you talking like Spike?"
"Love, be quiet, I want to listen to the radio."
"Stop calling me that!"
"Well, I may as well. If you live throught the massacre, you will become my bride."
Dawn walked to the front of the bus as slowly as she could, and then slapped Giles right across the face, so hard he stopped driving. "Giles, I don't know what your problem is, I don't know if my best friends are dead or not, but I do know that I will never be your bride, never." Dawn stormed back to the back of the bus and Giles immediately stood.
"Now listen, you little girl, I will make you my bride, and the rest will die, there is nothing anyone can do about it."
"Giles, shut up."
He began to walk to the back of the bus, toward Dawn. "Now, listen here, Pet." He grabbed her by the hair and pushed her against the walls of the bus. "I will take no nonsense from you. You will shut up and do what I tell you to do. Do you understand?" Dawn did not reply. "I SAID DO YO UNDERSTAND?" Dawn weakly nodded her head, and tears started spilling down her face.

The vampire knocked down the door and pulled Willow inside. "Listen here, little girl, you do what I say, and I will give you life for eternity."
"Listen, here, little.... well, Man, I will not do what you say, and I will not be given eternal life, from you or from anyone, do you here me?"
"Shut up, imbecile."
"No."
"Come with me." Willow followed the derranged vamp to a little room she assumed was the dining area. "Stay here."
"What if I don't?"
"I'll make you."
"How?"
"Like this." The vamp hit Willow with a chair the was lying around. She fell to the ground, head bleeding. The vampire left the room, believing Willow to be unconsciense. When she was sure he was gone, she sat up and pulled the chairs around her, performing the same spell she had before. "By the power of me and the power of the Slayer, pull her soul. By the power of me and the power of the Slayer, save her soul. By the power of me, bring the Slayer. SLAYER!"

Buffy began frantically searching for what she knew was not going to be there. She just had to face it, they left her, they didn't care. But... what was that voice she had heard? Willow's voice. For help, screaming for help. But why? Was that just an allusion? She began to call out. "WILLOW! WILLOW, ARE YOU THERE? CAN YOU HEAR ME? IT'S ME, BUFFY, NOTHING'S GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU IF YOU COME TO ME. WILLOW!" All of a sudden, she couldn't see anything but black. "What's happening? WILLOW! WILLOW, CAN YOU..." she landed with a thud. "Hear me?"

Giles got back to riving the bus as wildly as possible down the gravel path. Faith spoke to Xander, quietly. "Get everyone over here, I think I might know something."
"Yeah, and how exactly do you think I can do that without Mr. Loony Tunes trying to kill us?"
"Okay, yeah, I don't know what the hell his problem is. Just do what I say. Get everyone over here, now."
"Okay, yeah, everyone. That shouldn't be too hard considering all the potentials are dead. All I have to worry about is Dawn and Andrew. Dawn and Andrew. Dawn and Andrew."
"Stop saying that, we both know that now. Just get them over here."
In his quietest voice, he whispered, "Dawn, Dawn can you hear me? Come over here, and bring Andrew. Do it fast and quietly."
'Why?"
"SHH!"
Giles spoke very loudly. "WHO'S TALKING BACK THERE? I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO HURT ANYONE ELSE!"

Will Willow and Buffy make it out of the bus alive? Will Giles uncrazy himself? Will Dawn become Mrs. Giles? STAY TUNED! PART TWO OF WELCOME TO OZ WILL BE UP IN A FEW DAYS! I'M SORRY IT'S A LITTLE SHORT, I HAVE BEEN BUSY!
