Prologue
The quiet neighbor of Revello Drive sat in peaceful silence. Little did anyone in the area realize that the lone car driving down the road at 11:00 pm would change the neighbor and town completely. The red painted Chevrolet drove slowly down the road finally coming to a stop in front of a two-story yellow painted house.
“Why’d we leave New York again?” asked Faith, a slender brunette, as she stepped from the car and looked around in disgust.
“Because of Dad’s new job,” answered Buffy, a lithe blonde, from the other side of the car with a smirk.
“Don’t start; either of you,” said Jenny Giles, “It’s been a long day already.”
“Yes indeed. You may both argue tomorrow morning before you start school and even at school if you wish,” added Rupert Giles.
“School!!!” whined both girls.
“Yes, school,” teases Jenny, “You both knew that you were starting tomorrow. Come on, you both need sleep.”
“Yeah right, like B didn’t get enough on the plane out here.”
“Hey! You slept too, so bite me!”
“Enough! Bed! Now!” ordered Rupert.
Slowly they all entered their new home.
Later that night
“B!” whispered Faith, “You awake?”
“I am now,” said Buffy as she sat up and watched as her sister slinked from one bed to her own. As Faith sat on the bed Buffy cocked her head slightly to one side.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
Buffy smiled, “Liar.”
Faith smiled slightly in return, “Always the knowing one. Just nerves I guess.”
Buffy shook her head, “You want me to believe that you’re nervous?”
“Fine, I’m scared! Happy? What if it happens again?”
Buffy reached over and hugged her sister, “It won’t, trust me. It’ll never happen here. They promised they’d take care of it.”
They both finally fell asleep on Buffy’s bed.
