Buffy was fast asleep when the bus stopped in front of the hotel. Everyone got out and walked inside. Dawn got up and walked to the back of the bus.
“Buffy,” Dawn said. “Wake up and come inside.”
After Dawn left, Buffy sat up and looked around. The bus was empty. Outside there was a hotel. Inside there was a feeling. Angel.
Angel and the gang were busy preparing for battle.
“Anyone want to explain why we have to listen to some chick that three out of the five of us have never met? I mean if she didn’t let you stay and fight then she must not need your help,” Gunn said, unhappily.
“Because this is the First evil. It got to me. I don’t know what it’ll do to Buffy.” Angel said trying not to think about the First or Buffy.
“Well, I’m gonna go portal. I don’t think that you’ll need me in the next three hours.” Gunn replied, heading towards the weapon cabinet.
When all of a sudden an unfamiliar voice caused them all to turn around.
“Its nice. Too big for my taste.” Kennedy said walking in the door with the same weapon Buffy had used to kill the preacher guy. “So which one of ya is Angel?” she asked with a smile.
“Depends. Who are you?” Angel asked not having a good feeling about this.
“So it’s you, huh,” she said with a laugh.
“What makes you so sure, you’re only human.”
“Yeah well, I could tell that you’re a vamp. Surprised your not dust, seeing you’ve been around for what almost two hundred fifty years?”
“Kennedy, just say hello.” Willow said, following her inside.
“I don’t like him. He’s a vampire.” She replied rather grimly.
“Yeah well, he gets from every slayer he meets. I was out to kill him when we first met.” Faith laughed as she helped Robin in.
The other Slayers, Xander, Giles, Andrew, and Dawn walked in. They said their hellos and gave hugs.
Buffy stood up and looked around. She didn’t recognize where she was, but she had a feeling she was in LA. She started to walk out of the bus and hit the side of a seat.
“Ow. Just my luck, I wake up in what is probably LA, I have a feeling I’m gonna run into Angel, and I hit the one side of me that hurts” Buffy complained to no one but herself as she got off the bus and walked towards the door.
“Looks like everyone is alright. Where’s Buffy?” Angel asked
“Buffy is right here.” Buffy answered with a smile as she walked in the hotel.
Angel walked over and they hugged. After the hug ended Angel had a look of concern on his face.
“I’m fine. What? Tell me you didn’t think that I wouldn’t make it.” Buffy laughed.
“If you’re fine Buffy, why don’t you explain that nice blood spot on your shirt?” Kennedy said walking over to a chair and sitting down.
“Thank you for your concern, Kennedy, but its fine. Like I said I’m fine.” Buffy said. She looked around. “Hey Wesley, how’ve been?”
“Good.” Wesley replied.
“So you’re Buffy, you’re the one sending out orders to people you’ve never met.” Gunn said with out even feeling bad.
“I never sent orders to anyone.” Buffy answered. Then she looked at Angel.
Angel walked over to the counter and stood there for a second. “So you guys are alright?” He asked.
“If you call not everyone making it out alright,” Faith answered. “Hey, Angel. Got a place Robin can rest?”
“Yeah upstairs” He answered.
“There are plenty of rooms upstairs, if you girls want to rest.” Wesley answered.
“Thank You!” replied all of the girls at the same time, before running upstairs to catch Faith.
“Well, I imagine that there was more than just that amount of girls before the fight. Where were they all staying?” Wesley asked, a bit confused.
“They stayed all over Buffy’s house. Some on the floor some sharing beds. You should have tried to get into the bathroom in the morning. They looked like they were all in line for some sold out show,” Xander replied.
“Anyway, I was on my way out. Fred you wanna come?” Gunn asked.
“Sure” Fred answered, and they left.
Wesley went into his office with Giles, to talk about Watcher stuff.
Willow and Kennedy went upstairs, the same with Xander and Andrew.
Dawn walked over to Angel gave him a hug and went upstairs to claim a room.
Buffy and Angel looked at each other. Angel went to say something before Lorne walked in.
“Hey, Angel-cakes. Anne what are you doing here?” He asked.
“Angel-cakes?” Buffy asked.
“Anne?” Angel asked in return.
“Something wrong?” He answered both of them.
“We know each other, Lorne.” Buffy replied.
“Wait. How do you know Lorne? And why does he think your name is Anne?” Angel asked, getting very confused.
“First of all, we met when she came into my club one hot summer night. Second, I don’t ‘think’ her name is Anne. I know it is.” Lorne said.
“Okay, Lorne. Half of that is true. I did meet you in your club. But Anne is my middle name. I was using it then so that my friends didn’t find me. My first name is Buffy.” She replied.
‘Oh, now everything makes sense. That means your not a vampire, you’re a Vampire Slayer. ” Lorne said now unconfused.
“What did you tell him?” Angel asked Buffy.
“She told me that she lost everything in her life, her friends, family, which I took as her becoming a vampire. Then she told me she had to send her boyfriend to hell, which I took as her dusting her boyfriend. And I now know that you were her boyfriend and she didn’t stake you but actually sent you to hell.” Lorne answered for Buffy.
“How did you lose everything?” Angel asked.
“Well, I was kicked out of my home when I was forced to tell my mom that I was the Slayer. I was expelled from school because I was blamed for Kendra’s death, where it was Drusilla as I recall. And I left my friends when I left for L.A. and started using the name Anne.” Buffy replied.
“Well, I can see you two have some catching up to do.” Lorne said as he left the room.
“So…” Buffy started.
“What are you doing here?” Angel asked.
“What?” Buffy asked.
“Well I can see that you don’t want to be here. So what are you doing here?” Angel repeated.
“I don’t know.” Buffy replied. “I woke up here in L.A. with no one on the bus.”
Angel was about to complain when Dawn came downstairs.
“Buffy, I found you a room if you want to get some rest.” She started. “But then again you were asleep on the bus. But also again, you haven’t slept in like a week. But…”
“Dawn.” Buffy cut her off. “I’ll be up in a minute.” Buffy replied before giving Angel a ‘we’ll finish this later’ look, and walking upstairs after Dawn.
Angel was then alone in the Hyperion Hotel lobby.
