Bad Vibes
As she walked the familiar street of Sunnydale, Buffy felt something in the air change like danger was a foot. Not being able to put her finger on it the slayer just kept walking and pushed all thoughts of danger aside, all she wanted to do now was get home and get some sleep before she had to get up for work and get Dawn ready for school. How she hated how much her life had changed since her mother died, all the extra responsibility she had to carry by taking care of Dawn and making sure there was food on the table and a roof over Dawns head, as well as keep the streets of Sunnydale safe for its occupants. It was not like she hated Dawn or resented her little sister, it is just some times seeing Willow and Xander living carefree with their only responsibility is worrying about themselves, oh how she missed that. When she looked up from her deep thoughts Buffy noticed she had walked all the way home and not realised it. As she walked up the steps to her front door Buffy could hear the TV in her house going and she braced herself for a long drawn out fight with Dawn about what time she is supposed to be in bed on a school night.
When Dawn heard the lock click on the front door she knew she was in for it with Buffy. She felt sorry for her sister with all she had to put up with in life and Dawn realised she never made it easy for Buffy to cope.
When Buffy entered the living room she saw Dawn stand up and turn the TV off, here we go she thought “Dawn I thought I told you to go to bed before 10, it is now 1 in the morning. And why did Willow not send you to bed earlier.”
As Buffy looked around the house in a temper she realised Willow was no where to be found, “I thought she was going to watch you for me.”
“She was.” was all Dawn could think of to explain the red heads absents. “Well, where is she?” Buffy ask with a confused look on her face. “I don’t know exactly, she told me to stay in the house while she went out for a bit. But that was over four hours ago.”
Just then Willow walked though the front door with a huge smile on her face, but when she turned to face the two Summers women looking at her, the smile faded and fast.
All Buffy said was “Dawn go to bed I need to speak to Willow alone.”
With that Dawn run up the stairs glad that Buffy did not yell at her too much, not like every other time. Some times she wondered why she was so hard on Buffy but as fast as the thought came it was gone again. As Dawn finally slipped into a bliss full sleep she could hear the muffled sound of Buffy and Willow arguing.
Buffy waited a few minuets to make sure Dawn was out of reach before she let Willow have it, “Where the hell were you tonight? You were supposed to be watching Dawn.”
“God Buffy, don’t go all mum on me.” “Well someone has to be responsible in this house and it looks like it has to be me, you know Dawn is not meant to be left alone. You could of called Xander if it was that important.” “Sorry I was not thinking, is that what you want to hear.” “What I wan to hear is what was so important that you left Dawn all alone.” “You wouldn’t understand. If this conversation is over I’m going to bed.” “Willow what has happened to you lately.” “Nothing, just get off my back already.” With that Willow stomped up the stairs and slammed her bedroom door. As Buffy stood at the bottom of the stairs and watched Willow go to her room all she could think was there is definitely something wrong with Willow, and I’m going to find out what.
As Willow lay on her bed her thought travailed to the events of earlier that night,
Earlier that Night:
As willow stood at the foot of Tara’s grave, all she could do was stair at the spot where she knew her lover’s body would be. It was as if she could see her body though the layers of dirt and wood, Tara’s dead body would be imprinted in her mind for the rest of her life. Next to Willow lay a bag with all its contents splayed on the floor, as she got down to sit on the floor she remembered why she was there in the first place “Don’t worry Tara Baby, I won’t let no one harm you in the after life, or in any other life. God how I miss you.” Little did Willow that at the same time a group of Wicca’s were on their way to the blond girls grave.
Willow sat on the ground crossed legged and sprinkled the contents of the jar over the grave, and resited the incantation required. Once she was finished the spell she got up and went home. Little did she know that Buffy was waiting at home furious with her.
Present:
As Willow slowly fell into a restful sleep, she suddenly jotted up like an electrical current flowing though her veins and she new exactly what it was magic was all Willow could think about as this new power flowed though her system, then all of a sudden it was gone and Willow could sense something different in the air. Just as she was about to get out of bed to tell Buffy, she remembered the fight they had earlier and decide to fix the problem her self.
As Buffy started to get ready for bed, concern for Willow went though her mind. All of a sudden she got the same sense she had earlier that night, but the only difference was it was much stronger than before.
At the same time a group of black-clocked people stood around a grave with their heads bowed.
