Buffy opened her eyes and instantly felt the sore pain in her stomach from the previous night. The orange sun was low in the sky and about to come up, Buffy turned over and sat up.
“Ow,” Buffy groaned, “Why do the evil murderous creatures of the night have to be so violent?” Suddenly Buffy remembered her boyfriend and the main no longer mattered, she stood up quickly and limped to the pavement where Riley had fallen. But Riley was gone.
The Slayer felt something on her wrist, she turned it over and saw a symbol painted on her skin. Buffy recognised the symbol from the burnt grass in the graveyard. Buffy stood for a moment in thought and confusion before remembering her main worry. The Slayer looked up and began to run as fast as she could, she had to find Riley.
“Who the hell are you?” The Slayer with black hair questioned.
Buffy stood in the doorway of the tower trying not to grin with joy and happiness, Buffy had finally found some people who could both talk and didn’t want to kill her. Plus the two women were Slayer which meant that Buffy finally had some backup.
“I’m Buffy,” she explained, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” The two Slayers looked Buffy up and down not looking too impressed, “I guess your not too thrilled to see me.”
The Slayer with black hair walked up to Buffy and sighed, “You failed. You failed to protect the innocent and to destroy the evil,” The Slayer looked down, “The new Chosen One has been activated. Your dead.”
The second Slayer pulled the girl back and said quietly, “Raina, calm down.” As the Slayer said this Raina began to cry and lent into the Slayer’s shoulder, hiding her face.
“I just hate this place so much.” Raina said in frustration, she just wanted to see her family again, she just wanted to go home.
“I know.” The Slayer said as stroking Raina’s hair, trying to comfort the terrible pain that she felt inside.
Raina turned away and moved toward a small slit of a window where small amounts of light to could seep in, the second Slayer glanced at Buffy and then said, “We’ve been here for years, it brings you down,” The Slayer sighed and then introduced herself, “I’m Sasha and that’s Raina. We’re Slayers too, we were pulled out of our dimension. I was taken in 1987 and Raina was taken a couple of months after me.”
Buffy looked down and said quietly, “I wasn’t taken. I jumped into the hell mouth and ended up here, I was meant to die.” Buffy paused for a moment thinking about everything she had lost by believing in that stupid prophecy, “Do you have anything to eat? I haven’t eaten in days.”
“Sure.” Sasha said as she pointed to a small table with a bowl of oranges sitting on it, “Help yourself”
The five demons stood in a circle holding up their human sacrifices, in the centre of the circle sat the mouth of hell. The Hellmouth glowed with a dim yellow light.
Suddenly the first demon dropped it’s sacrifice into the Hellmouth, then the second, the third, fourth and finally the fifth demon held up Riley for a few extra seconds before dropping him into the fiery hole.
