DISCLAIMER: I own nothing but the computer upon which this was typed, and my warped little mind, which conceived the notion of this particular story, while it did not imagine up the characters. In other words, don’t sue. I only get $15 a week by doing every chore possibly imaginable…Cinderella probably had it better…but I’m getting off track

AUTHOR’S NOTE: This no longer takes placed in my "THE-SEASON-FINALE-NEVER-HAPPENED" world. Yes…I’ve moved on…(damn it…and I had this great idea goin’ and half of it typed out…oh well…)

Part Two
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sand was hard and brown, not at all like the sand in California. There were tidal pools filled with fish and crabs. Lots of seagulls, and no lifeguard towers. The beaches were almost deserted, but it was nice. "I like Vancouver," thought Buffy as she sat in a little diner across from English bay.

Dear Willow,

I hope you are better. I hope that knock to your head didn’t damage you smart little brain, because Xander and Giles…and myself would be lost without you. Thank you. Thank you for letting me see Angel one more time. I’m sure Giles told you what happened...if not…ask him, cause I don’t think I can explain it again, because my throat gets all tight and I have trouble breathing and the bus driver gets worried. How are things with you and Oz? I hope its good. OH! It almost slipped my mind. I told Giles, but I think I should tell you too. Something’s up with Snyder. When I went back to get Kendra’s sword, to fight Angel, he was there, waiting. He expelled me, no biggie, but it was like he knew something. And when he thought I’d gone, he phoned someone, and told them I was taken care of…suspicious, much? Use your hacker knowledge, I know you’ll dig up some dirt on that creep. You’d love it here in Vancouver. Canadians are so nice, and you’d just die when you see the Vancouver library. No, I didn’t go to on purpose...I was just wandering on by, and the architecture was so neat, like a coliseum, the insides even cooler. Before I left LA, to go to Sunnydale, my boyfriend, Pike and I broke up. Man, I hafta work on my relationship skills. Anyways, we broke it of kinda short, mostly due to the fact my mom was literally dragging me away to Sunnydale. I heard he had gone up North, to Canada. So when I got into Vancouver, I looked him up, and sure enough, he was here. In fact, as I’m writing this, I’m waiting to meet with him. Ya, Pike and I go way back. Actually, I met him a few days before I became the slayer, and he helped me "Burn down" the school gym. When I left town, he said he was going after the vampires. I guess he hunts them now, just for the heck of it. He was always a rebel, and ever scince they changed his best friend Kenny, well, lets just say he’s had a grudge…not that I blame him. What else is there to say? You must think I’m so immature for running away. Truth is, maybe I agree with you. But I need to find something. I don’t know what it is…but I’ll know when I find it. I miss you a lot Will…hope to see you soon,

Love your friend,
Buffy

Buffy folded the letter and slid it into and envelope and placed it into her bag. She whirled around as a hand clamped down on her shoulder.

"What the…" she said.

"Hey!" said a young man.

"PIKE!" shrieked Buffy, as people in the diner looked up from their meals. Blushing, she continued in a softer tone, "Oh my god! You look great! How are you?"

Pike did look great, hair gelled back off of is forehead, streaked with blond. The same stormy gray eyes and as usual, he looked great in his leather jacket.

"I’m good," he replied, "but you, no offense, but you look like you haven’t slept in days. And why are you all the way up here by yourself?"

"I haven’t been sleeping to good, actually," said Buffy. Images of Angel flashed in her head, "It’s a long story," sighed Buffy.

"Well, I’ve got about 6 hours before work," Pike said with a smile, obviously referring to hunting, "so I’ve got time. Besides, I haven’t seen or talked to you in two years."

Buffy took a sip of her luke-warm, not-so-hot chocolate, and began the story, right from the day she arrived in Sunnydale.

* * *
Pike starred at Buffy, dumbfounded. Buffy was red eyed, holding back tears.

"Oh god Buffy, I’m so sorry," said Pike. He leaned forward to give her a hug, but Buffy jerked away. Realizing what she had just done, she quickly apologized.

"I’m sorry, it’s just that…" she started to say.

"No man, its cool. I understand…kinda. So lemme get this straight, you fell in, love with a vampire? Who was good? Then you…ahh…did something you shouldn’t have, he turned back into his old I’m-a-bloodsucking-bastard-of-a-demon self? He tried to end the world, got his soul back, and you hand to literally push him into hell in order to save the world from complete and udder annihilation?"

"That about sums it up," said Buffy, nodding glumly.

"Werewolves, giant bug-ladies, egg laying monsters, a frankenstein, invisible girls…what don’t you do? I thought you were strictly vampires?" remarked Pike.

"Yea, so did I," grumbled Buffy, "but I guess being the slayer means I’m the lucky person that gets to save the world once a week…"

"That’s harsh. So this Angel guy, he’s in hell?" queried Pike.

"I think so…I didn’t really ask where exactly he was gonna go when I used him as a hell gate sealant," smirked Buffy, "but seeing as the gate was supposed to release hell onto the earth…I think that’s where he went. The poor guy…he never knew what the demon in him was doing…he couldn’t control it…and I sent him to hell for it…"

"It was a duty call, Buff. What were you gonna do? Have your Boyfriend back, or save the world?"

"Ya, I know," said Buffy, "but what has the world done for me lately…"

"Buffy, you got dealt a bum wrap, but you’re gonna have to deal"

"I didn’t even get a chance to say all the things I had wanted to say…or do," moaned Buffy, "it wasn’t supposed to end like this,"

"Maybe it’s not over," mused Pike, "I’m sure you’ll get your chance for closure,"

"I hope so…"

"Anyway, Buff, if you need a place to stay for awhile, you can crash at my place," offered Pike.

"Thanks," said Buffy, "but it’ll probably only be for a night…I have to keep moving. I’m looking for something"

"What?" asked Pike.

"I’ll know it when I find it"

"Well, where are you off to next?"

"I don’t know," said Buffy, "where do you recommend?"

"I’ve heard Montreal is beautiful this time of year"

"Great. Montreal it is," decided Buffy, "So, what’s the vamp scene like up here?"

"Well, most of em are pretty mellow…you’ve heard of that Olympic snowboarder Ross Reglabati? They’re a lot like him…….."
