It was getting dark with the moon casting a blue light almost like magic on the crater of Sunnydale. Buffy, covered with dirt and sand looking like a homeless person, still continued to look for her love, or at least a sign that he was still alive. She had dug through so much dirt that her once white clothes were now tan with dark blotches in places from sweat and dirt mixed. Her finger nails were no longer pretty super model nails, but broken off miss fix-it nails full of dirt and sand. Her knuckles were full of blood as she used them to stir the soil while she was on her knees. She had been digging for hours and had found only more soil and debri.
"Are you sure we shouldn't go and help her? I mean Giles look at her. She doesn't even look like a human. She looks like a dog whose buried it's bone and can't seem to find it in this gian garden," said Willow looking at Buffy with watery eyes.
"She won't be getting help from any of us," said Giles putting down a harsh tone, "She must know that there is no use. Soon she'll give up and realize that there is nothing here."
"Giles this is Buffy we're talkin about. Now you know the Buffster doesn't give up on anything. She'll continue digging until she finds something. Even if she has to dig up the whole state to do it," said Xander with his hands in his pockets while leaning on the front of the car and watching Buffy dig into the red stained ground with her painted knuckles.
"I know she's never been known to give up, but hopefully this time she will. There's no way of finding Spike. He's gone and that's the end of it!"
"Giles I'm sorry, but I just can't sit here and do nothing. Just looking at her makes me feel like I'm punishing her for something, and I just can't feel like this anymore. I'm sorry Giles, but I've got to help her," says Willow as she walks towards Buffy, and rolling up her sleeves as she goes.
"Giles I know this is gonna sound crazy coming from me, but is it possible to bring back the undead?" asks Xander quietly, "I mean I know we all really aren't a big fan of Spike, but I really think we need to do it for Buffy."
"Well, it's been done before. Angel, for instance, was somehow brought back. I suppose if we did it just right we could bring him back, but there are a lot of risks in doing this."
"Giles we took these reisks before..."
"And it could have gone differently than it did, and this time it's a vampire we want to bring back, and that can have even more risks! For one he could end up coming back evil, and without a soul."
"Well, I'm willing to do it...for Buffy. Giles she's our friend. We need to do this for her, and if it goes wrong we can always make it right. It's not like we've never done it before."
"Lets do it then."
They both slapped their hands together and shook them so the deal was sold. They went to tell Willow that they were going to go get some supplies, but they never specified the supplies exactly or for what exactly. They then drove off into the black hole of the night.
