Part 4:
Preparations were made. Buffy wanted to get married, and live, in Sunnydale. Angel managed to convince the museum to let him move. With all the new technological advances, he could run the museum right from his own home. Before they began to pack up, Buffy placed a call to her mom. She had been gone for two months, and needed to know if it was okay for her to move back to Sunnydale. “Mom?” “Buffy? Oh honey, it’s so good to hear your voice. How’s your vacation going?” “My vacation?” “Yes, Riley told me that you had taken the kids on a vacation to San Francisco,” Joyce said. “Oh, it’s great. The kids are having a blast.” “Listen Buffy, I have some bad news for you, and I’m not quite sure how to tell you.” “Just spit it out, Mom,” Buffy said. “All right, Riley’s dead.” Dead silence. “What?” Buffy said. “The night after you left, he went to the bar, got drunk, then got into his car. He ended up driving right off King Man’s Bluff. I’m so sorry, but I couldn’t get a hold of you. I didn’t know where you were.” “It’s okay Mom. Listen, the kids and I are coming home, with a surprise. We should be there in a couple of days.” “Okay, honey, see you then.”
When Buffy let Angel in on the news, he didn’t seem too surprised. “He realized what he had just lost.” “So, have we found someplace to live?” Buffy asked. “I found the best place. It’s up on Crawford Street, but not my old haunt. It’s this beautiful ten-room mansion. There are 5 bathrooms, and a beautiful backyard with a pool.” “What do we need ten rooms for?” Buffy asked. “Well, if I know you right, you will want all your friends with you, and I figure we can convince them to live with us,” Angel said with a grin. Buffy screamed and gave him a huge hug. “You know just what to do to make me feel better.”
Buffy made calls to all of her friends. Giles said he would be there for the wedding, but couldn’t stay for long. He had a booming magic shop in Bath that couldn’t be left alone for long. He did say that he would come and visit at least three times a year. Willow and Tara were game. They had just sold their magic shop, because they both had a feeling that it was the thing to do. Tara had given birth to a beautiful baby girl named Sabrina. Willow and Tara had done this as a private joke to all who knew them, because their favorite show used to be ‘Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.’ Xander and Anya were also willing to move. Xander was tired of the Paris scene anyway, and Angel had promised to get some of Xander’s stuff in the Los Angeles Museum of Art. Buffy was surprised to find that he and Anya were expecting their first child within the next few months. Everything was coming together, and Buffy, Angel, and her children were very happy.
They arrived in Sunnydale, and visited Joyce. Joyce was surprised to see Angel, and even more surprised to find that he was human, and ran a museum. She didn’t seem too surprised at the fact that Angel and Buffy were getting married. When she heard that they were moving into a ten-bedroom house on Crawford Street, she seemed happy that they were at least staying in Sunnydale. If her daughter was happy, then she was happy.
