Disclaimer: I don’t own ANYTHING! Joss is the God in charge of this and I am a mere servant to his command. His great series commands a story , so I comply. But I do own characters not normally found on the show, and the mysterious girl is all me! :) Besides, all you could get out of me is my computer.....

Author’s Note: Special thanks to Charity aka Taygeta for telling me to write these words out and for beta reading it for me. And read AleXander’s transcripts. For doing what he does, to me, he is Joss the second.

Part One

In the graveyard, the Scooby Gang were on their regular patrol. Oz, Willow, and Xander were walking together, discussing the latest episode of “Friends”. Buffy, Angel, and Faith were behind them, half-listening, but mainly checking the yard for signs of evil creatures.

“You know what guys?” asked Buffy, breaking up the conversation as the threesome began debating the pros and cons of the Ross-Rachel relationship. “I think we should drop the convo
and focus on the vamps. You guys can argue this later. Now- Vampires. Later- “Friends”. Okay?”

“Sure Buff, whatever you say.” said Xander glancing at the other two and mouthing “memories” while pointing at Angel. The other two nodded and started checking out the scene. None of them seem to notice the girl hiding in the bushes.

“I think we should move around more, you know cover more territory,” said Oz. He threw a sideways glance at Willow and nudged her with his elbow.

“Uh, yeah, . . I think we should, uh, do that,” Willow told Buffy. “It might help, and uh, I want to go with Oz.”

Buffy sighed and looked at Faith. After an eye conversation between the two of them, Buffy answered Willow. “Yes. I guess we could. But yell if you need help. Loudly.” With that she turned around and headed the other direction. “And be careful!” she called over her shoulder.

Angel and Faith started walking forward, intent on some slayage. Oz and Willow headed left. Willow turned around suddenly and asked Xander if he wanted to join them.

“You know, I...,” he saw Oz’s face glare at him, “..think that isn’t a problem. I’ll be fine. I’ve staked vamps before.” Willow threw him a disturbing glance before Oz gently pulled her away. Xander frowned and moved to the right, his thoughts jumbled.

Xander was so caught up in his thoughts that he almost ran over the girl who had appeared in front of him. He stepped back, startled. < I don’t remember her > he thought as he got his cross
out and held it up. It seemed to have no effect on the girl.

The girl was rather short, about Oz’s height, give or take an inch. She had shoulder- length, dark brown hair. The girl was built rather sturdy looking, and it seemed to Xander that all that weight was more muscle than anything. She had the hourglass figure that so many woman craved, yet few achieved. Her skin was a rosy shade of pink, her two lips luscious and full. Her eyes were a beautiful emerald color and sparkled in the glare of the street lamp. Xander glanced down at what she was wearing. A long sleeved white dress, made of some sort of gauzy material. Xander thought, as he eyed the girl warily. < I guess I better find out who she is and why she’s here. >

“Who are you and what are you doing in the graveyard at night?” asked Xander, nervously twiddling his stake. He glanced around to make sure no other evil creatures were in the vicinity.

“What I am is human. What I’m doing in the graveyard is finding you.” The girl spoke in a voice that had an intriguing soft-toughness quality. Xander thought. The girl glanced at him strangely, and Xander suddenly felt as if she could hear his thoughts. He looked at the girl and was none too surprised to see her nodding her head.

“Yes, I can hear your thoughts. But not because I’m a mind reader. I’m something else. Or rather, somebody else. Behind you!” The girl screamed the last words so loudly that Xander could almost claim legal deafness. He quickly turned around and saw three VERY hungry vamps heading in his direction. He jerked his cross out and pushed it in front of him. It caught the first vampire directly in the face. His skin began to sizzle and pop. Xander looked away for a second and saw that the other two had come around and were now charging the girl.

"Hey..." Xander began, but the vampire's fist quickly punched him, slowly knocking him out. Seeing his foe knocked out, the vampire began to pounce.

The girl, who had just slayed the other two vamps by just thinking, was on her way over to him. He looked up and growled at her from his position on top of Xander. The girl just looked at him and began concentrating. The vamp got up and turned to ran, but not before a stake came whistling out of thin air and straight into his heart. He collapsed in an air of ashes.

“Ah ha! I knew I could do it.” she said triumphantly. “But of course, this is not good,” she pointed out while bending over and feeling Xander’s forehead. She smoothed out his hair and began imagining what his lips were like to kiss and if he ever used his tong....”Wait a gosh darned minute,” she thought out loud. “I can’t go there. I’m here to help, not to imagine what his kisses would feel like on her lips. her overloaded brain screamed. With a sigh, she went back to the problem at hand: a knocked-out, utterly defenseless Xander. “I knew I shouldn’t have started a conversation with him! It only distracted him. Oh well. What’s done is done.” With that, she picked Xander up and carried him off into the darkness.

Xander’s alarm went off. Xander sat straight up in bed, waking from a dream of slaying, a mysterious girl, and three vampires. His head began to pound as the phone next to him began ringing. He grabbed it after a few minutes and said a very hurtful “Hello?”

“Where did you go last night?” a frantic female voice greeted him. “We were all so worried! Buffy asked the gang a million times and we searched that cemetery all night with no luck. And
the whole time you were at home after ditching us, sleeping, off in dreamland! You scared us!” Willow’s voice, which had begun to start sounding relieved, ended in pure anger.

“You mean it wasn’t a dream? She WAS real? Oh my god! Um, Will, I’ll see you at school. Sorry to cause you problems. Bye!” After ending his conversation, Xander jumped up from the bed and went over to his dresser, searching for a bottle of Tylenol. His hand came in contact with a bottle, as well as something cold and a piece of paper. He looked at the paper and grinned, the pain suddenly disappearing.

“Xander-
Sorry for the pain. Didn’t meant to have you get knocked out for me. Thanks. To show my gratitude, here’s a bottle of Tylenol and some water. See ya around.
Love, Your Mystery Girl”
