Willow was having hysterics, unable to do anything but cry. Buffy tried to comfort
her, but was still kind of numb herself. Cordelia stood off to the
side, showing no emotain. If anything, she was getting angry.
"So what are you waiting for?" she exploded all of a sudden. "Go to
the mayor's office and kick some ass!" Buffy slowly rose from where
she had crouched on the floor next to Willow, and stared at Cordy
with bloodshot eyes. When she answered, her voice came out low and
scratchy.
"Sure Cordy, that a great plan. I go in there and start kicking ass.
And while I'm doing that, Faith goes and kills the guys. Why don't
you just go over there and kill them yourself?"
Well, it's better then just sitting here crying. Your the slayer, go
slay already."
"Were you always this stupid Cordelia? Or did you just overdose on
chanel number five? I thought you loved Xander! Love dosen't go away
just because your lover hurts you. Believe me, I should know. And
DON'T tell me you feel nothing for Wesley. Are you even human?"
"Don't get all high and mighty with me blondie! You're the one just
sitting on your ass when the men we all love have been kidnapped!
If you're such a super hero, why don't you save them?"
"THATS ENOUGH!!!" Buffy and Cordy both stared at Willow through their
tears. Willow's face was just as badly tear streaked, but she had
finally gotten control. "We're all scared. I love Oz and Xander and
Giles sooo much. And I know you both love the others. All we have
to save them is each other. We have to work together if we want our men
back. Now I can't force you to like each other, and I'm not going
to try. I just want my Oz back." Willow sobbed quietly. Buffy stared
at her best friend with love.
"I'll get him back for you," she said. "Will, do you think you can
find the floor layout for the mayor's office online?" Willow nodded,
and went to work. "Cordy, come help me with weapons please." With
their new, shakey truce in effect, the three girls prepared for war.
