DISCLAIMER: Buffy & Co. don't belong to me. I do however own Gwynne, the story, and anybody else not on the show.

Part Three
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The vampire was still in the doorway pointing at Angel, and Buffy was still pissed. She stood in front of Gwynne and Angel, facing the vamp, her feet were slightly apart and her fists clenched.
"New Master," the vamp repeated, continuing to point at Angel. He growled softly at the vamp; Gwynne turned to see Angel's 'game face' up.
"Pretty boy has an attitude," she commented, causing him to growl at her. She let her fangs drop and growled back.
"Could you two please stop your show of dominance? I think I may need your help," Buffy interrupted, backing up while gazing up at the ceiling. Angel and Gwynne followed her gaze, and both immediately fell into a fighters stance. Above them, in the rafters was about a hundred vampires.
"We can't fight them all," Angel observed. Buffy and Gwynne exchanged a glance.
"Run," they replied in unison. The trio made a break for the door, and the lone vamp in their way fell to the floor, his heart ripped out by an angry Gwynne. As they ran down the street, Angel took the lead, and was leading them to an undisclosed location.
"All right, pretty boy. Stop," Gwynne ordered, deciding something was up. When Angel didn't stop, she grabbed Buffy's arm and shouted," I said, STOP!" Both Angel and Buffy felt her power radiate across their flesh, and Angel was powerless to disobey. He turned to face Gwynne with the demon in full control.
"Angel?" Buffy asked quietly. He advanced on her with a predatory smile.
"Angel's not home right now," he replied. Suddenly he found himself laying on the ground staring up at Gwynne.
"Do you realize how over used that line is?" she asked; Angel snarled at her, trying to grab her legs. "I didn't come here for this."
"Then you shouldn't have come at all," he growled in reply, and leapt at her. Gwynne moved swiftly out of the way, and Buffy slammed her fist into his nose. Angel collapsed unconscious.
Gwynne looked at Buffy, "The library?"
"The library."

"That should hold him," Giles commented as he locked the cage. Angel lay in the center of a large circle surrounded by crosses that would hopefully contain him until they figured out what to do with him.
"And if it doesn't?" Gwynne asked, playing with a crossbow.
"Let's just hope it does," Buffy replied as Willow entered the library slamming the door behind her. "Willow! How's Xander?"
"Awake. The doctors are gonna move him out of intensive care tomorrow." She turned to look into the cage at Angel, "Oh! What's going on?"
"Angel attacked us. Seems he's the new Master. Oh, and he has an attitude problem." Buffy replied looking longingly at the cage.
Gwynne caught the quick look. "The demon's in control, right?" Giles nodded a reply. "Then has anyone considered an exorsism?" Giles looked up, sharply.
"That just might work. But I regret to say I don't have any books on the subject, and I don't have the neccessary items," he replied.
"What Giles is actually lacking a book?" Buffy joked.
"Yes. I had one but some ruffian stole it."
"If I could get the items could we do the exorsism here?" Gwynne asked.
"Of course, but someone else will need to do it."
"Oh, I can do it." Gwynne laughed at the looks Buffy and Willow past at her. "I was raised by a priest. He taught me. Will you be okay until I get back?"
"I faced the Master, I think I can face Angel," Buffy replied and turned suddenly as she heard a howl of pain from the cage. Angel stood in the center his clothes and body smoking from the crosses.
"Don't worry, pretty boy. I'll be back," Gwynne said as she left.

When Gwynne returned, Angel once again lay unconscious on the floor with a nasty cross-shaped scar on the side of his head.
"That's new," Gwynne commented as she set her back next to the table.
"He made a lewd comment about Buffy. She didn't like it, so she improvised," Willow replied, watching Gwynne unload the bag. Gwynne set a pair of steel chains, a couple of crosses, and a vial of holy water onto the table.
"Buffy, could you bring Angel to the table," she asked as she attached the chains to the steel bars under the table. When Buffy placed Angel on the table, she helped Gwynne chain him down. They watched startled as his flesh began to sizzle.
"Silver?" Buffy asked.
"Silver only works on werewolves," Gwynne replied.
"Werewolves? Werewolves exist?" Willow asked Buffy glared at her. "Right. Stupid question."
"Ready?" Giles asked as he placed crosses at Angel's head and feet. Gwynne nodded in reply. She raised her arms and began.
"I take authority over this room in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." Angel's eyes flew open, and he struggled against his bonds. "In the Lord's name I rebuke and pray against all ancestoral demons." Angel struggled harder while his face changed rapidly from demon to human, repeatedly.
"I have brought back the true Angelus," he hissed. "May the false one never return." Gwynne dropped some holy water ontop his forehead. He screamed in pain.
"Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come thy will be done. On earth as it is in Heaven," Gwynne recited along with Buffy, Giles, and Willow. "In God's name I command thee..."
"Fight, Angel!" Buffy commanded, "Remeber the love that we share."
"You will be the first to die, Slayer. Then your friends," he hissed back.
"Release this man! I cast thee out. I cast thee out. I CAST THEE OUT!" With that Gwynne dumped the entire bottle of holy water onto his forehead. He screamed loudly and in his fury, broke the chains. He stood up, looking entirely too human.
"Angel," Buffy said smiling and walking to him. Angel opened his arms. Gwynne grabbed her before she could step into them.
"No. It didn't work," she stated simply. Angel snarled at them and jumped of the table towards Buffy and Gwynne. Using her preternatural powers, Gwynne pushed Buffy into Giles' arms. She spun as Angel impacted with her.
Buffy, Giles, and Willow watched in slow motion as Gwynne pulled a dagger out of a back sheath. Still spinning, she imbedded the dagger into Angel's heart; then her rotation stopped. But as Angel fell, she reached out and plucked the dagger from its mark. He impacted with the ground but didn't turn to dust.
"I cast thee out," Gwynne muttered.
"Angel!" Buffy cried as she fought Giles' hold on her. Finally he let her go. She slid to her knees at Angel's side; she placed his head into her lap. "Angel, no. Please, God, no."
"Buffy?" he whispered. She smiled happily at him and helped him to his knees. Then she kissed him passionately.
"You are never leaving me like that again," she ordered, laughing.
"I promise," he replied smiling.
"Buffy," Giles warned, not sure if the exorsism worked.
"Don't worry. The demon's still there, but he won't be coming back for awhile," Gwynne explained. Buffy glared at Gwynne, startled.
"How did you ...?" Realization dawned. "You knew all along about his soul. You had no intention of forgiving him, did you?"
"No. No, I did not," Gwynne replied, smiling sweetly.
