Part Two

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You meet who?" Giles asked, over the rim of his glasses.

"A self proclaimed Slayer. Vamps killed her parents when she was seven and she took up Karate so that she could grind them all into the ground. She even has a Slayer's handbook. And you should see her fight. Boy is she good" Xander said, between bites of his candy bar.

"I imagine that must be an extemely traumatic ordeal to go through at such a young age" Giles pushed the glasses he was wearing further up his nose.

"Do you think we could meet her. It wouldn't be so bad having another Slayerette around here" Buffy said, from her perch on one of the library's tables. She had been listening intently to the conversation and was thrilled at the idea of having another person around, who knew how to fight Vampires.

"Are you sure we want to let her in on this" Willow said skeptically. She didn't like the idea of the gorgeous supergirl hanging around them. She was jealous and didn't even want to give the girl a chance.

"Willow, my perky friend. Why the sudden wary nature?" Xander asked.

"No reason" Willow glared at him, but he didn't notice.

"I'll bring her by after school. She said she was interested in meeting a real Slayer" Xander said as he stood up to leave.

"Bye" Buffy called as Xander exited through the double doors.

"I think I'll go see if I can find any books that I can loaned to this, Diana. She at least is interested in learning about Slaying, even if she isn't a Slayer" He shot a glance at Buffy.

"I care" Buffy protested " Sort of" she added under her breath as Giles went into his office.

"I'm not sure about this girl" Willow said.

"Sure, I think you're just jealous" Buffy said.

"And what if I am?" Willow shot back " Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound like that I just ..."

Maybe you should try getting over Xander" Buffy offered "That Oz kid seems to like you"

Willow smiled "Yeah, Oz is pretty nice"

"And he plays a guitar" Buffy added.

"I'm sure these books will be of great help" Diana said, as she tried to balance the large stack of books, under her chin.

"Let me help you with those" Xander smiled at her and took half of the books.

"Thanks. Oh, and Buffy, if you ever need a place to work on your skills at, my Uncle built me a work out space in the basement. I've got a punching bag, mats, and weights. I also have a balance beam, and dance bar. I took gymnastics and ballet, to build my coordination" Diana said, as she and Xander headed out the door.

"Great! I haven't taken Ballet in three years. I can practice my old stuff" Buffy said.

"Mr. Giles sure has a lot of books" Diana commented, as she and Xander started on the way to her house "Thanks for carrying some"

"Not a problem. That's me. I'm always ready to help a lady. I don't expect any thanks, except that maybe I'll one day have a constilation in my honor"

"Your diffidently an interesting person"

"Me? Well I've heard strange, weird, freakish, but never interesting" Xander smiled at her.

"Here's my house" They turned up the walkway to a two story, pale blue, newly sided house.

"Nice house" Xander said, as they walked up on to the porch toward the front door. The porch was oak, and wrapped around the front and right side of the house. The front door was also oak and had a marbled glass window, in the middle of it.

Diana took the keys out of her pocket, and balanced the books in her left hand. "She opened the door and they entered into a white walled foyer.

"We can put the books in my room" She headed up the small wooden staircase followed by Xander.

"My stuff is still all packed up" She kicked open the door to her room and set the books on a large box. Her room was large, with a big window, and a window seat, near the far side.

"Wow" Xander said as he put the books he was carrying next to the other books, "Your room is the size of my parents room.

"There were only two bedrooms in the house, and my Uncle gave me the bigger one, since I have more stuff than he does. He's also away on business a lot, now. When we moved here he got a promotion, so I'll be seeing even less of him than I usually do. He goes away for days at a time"

"My parents are gone a lot two" Xander added, sympathetically.

"Xander"

"Hmm"

"I've never meet anybody like you. Your just ..."

"I'm just what?" Xander asked, stepping closer to her.

"Your just ..." Diana trailed off.

Xander brushed his hand across her cheek and gazed into her emerald eyes. Amid all the boxes of the misshapen room two people feel in love and into the deepest kiss of their lives.
