I have nothing so it's not worth even thinking about suing me. This is just an idea using your character, Joss. Sorry to insult you if I use them badly. Sorry for making Buffy so cynical. Don't worry , it'll play out. Um, I forget what happened to Acathla, but pretend it's still at the mansion. Oh, and this is kinda like What Dreams May Come, which also doesn't belong to me. Just read.

Part Five

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I get inside, Ms. Calendar is there. "Buffy, you made it. OK, time for your spell." She begins chanting over me, and I feel renewed with strength. "OK, Angelus will be here. You must stop him before the spell wears off." "How long do I have?" I ask. She thinks and replies, "About twenty minutes. Can you do it?" I nod as I bend down to pick up some pieces of wood. "These will do." I mutter as I hide them on my body. "Good luck, Buffy," Ms Calendar says before disappearing.

I'm only alone for a minute or two. Angelus shows up and greets me, "Lover! What brings you down here?" I smile and reply, "Oh, your death." He sighs, "Oh Buffy, why can't we just get along?" He walks over to me and circles around me. "You can't kill me, remember?" he whispers into my ear. I swing around and look him right in the eye, "Don't underestimate me, lover." Then I go up and kiss him. He kisses me back, passionately, and I get my chance. I knee him like I did with Pike and push him into a wall. He's down for a moment, trying to figure out what happened. I go over to him and with my new strength, I hoist him up, and punch him across the face. He finally comes to and attacks me with a roar. He tackles me to the ground and gets his chance to punch me. I roll over him, so I'm on top. I get off him and lunge for the sword. "De'ja vu, lover?" I smirk as he backs up against the wall, trying to escape my sword. I ram it in his stomach and pull it out again. He growls in pain and kicks my feet from under me. As I fall, I feel my energy leaving. He struggles to get up, but I beat him to it and swing the sword clear across his neck and then he's gone. Before I pass out, I hear Ms. Calendar say, "Good girl, Buffy."

When I'm up , I find myself in the white room again. Only now, there's a desk and Merrick's sitting at it. "Merrick!" I say as I walk over to the desk. "Buffy, congratulations on defeating Angelus," he tells me and motions me to sit down. I do, and he continues talking. "Now, are you ready to find Angel?" I nod and he directs me over to a door. I open it to find myself, alone, in a dimly lit street. It looks old, with cobblestones and horses pulling carts along it. I walk down the street and am drawn to one house in particular, which still has lights on. I open the door to see two girls lying on the ground, drained of all their blood. I walk around them into the next room, where a man and a woman lay in their bed. It takes me a moment to realize they too are drained. I turn and head into the next room, where Angel is. I rush over to him.

"Angel! I'm so glad I found you!" I cry, sitting next to him. he looks up at me and only says, "I killed them. I killed them." I'm confused for a second until I realize that the bodies were Angel's family. I shake my head and tell him, "No, Angel, it wasn't you! It was Angelus! It wasn't you!" He pushes me away and asks, " Who are you? How do you know me?" My eyes water with unshed tears, "Its me, Buffy. Don't you remember? Please, Angel, remember me! I can help you!" His eyes glaze over and he softly says "Buffy. I knew a Buffy once. But she died. She left me alone. She died. I couldn't save her. I couldn't save her." I shake him violently, "Angel! No! You did save me! You saved me so many times. It was my fault I died. It wasn't your fault." He doesn't listen to me and can only murmur, "I couldn't save her. I loved her and I couldn't save her." I begin crying and tell him, "No! Angel, please. Let's go home. I love you. I love you." He shakes his head and continues crying. I hear Merrick's voice, "Buffy, tell him what he wants to hear." I sit there, confused for a moment, then it comes to me. "Angel, I don't blame you. I never blamed you. I love you." After I say this he looks up at me as if he just noticed I was there. "Buffy? Oh God, Buffy!" he whispers as he hugs me, "I thought I lost you forever." We sit there in a tight embrace as the room fades out.
