Spike came over to Buffy, “So I hear you’re staying for a bit. Won’t that make the tension between us difficult? Or have you forgotten that?”
“Spike don’t do this, please.”
“Don’t you dare try and get rid of me like that again. We are going to talk about this right now.”
“No,” Buffy began to walk away.
“Is this what champions do when they don’t want to chat? They walk away?”
“Yes,” Buffy continued to go.
ANGEL ANGEL ANGEL
Angel looked at the devastation in the main lobby on the cameras in his office and then saw the his lobby.
The wreckage was horrific.
Spike stood alone in between the bodies.
The elevator doors opened and Eve walked out. She headed straight to Angel’s office.
“Knock, knock.”
“What do you want Eve?” Angel was impatient, knowing that time was limited.
“Looks like you won.”
“We lost lots of friends.”
“But don’t it make you proud that they died for you?”
“You’re sick,” he said simply.
“I’m evil,” she replied.
“You wish.”
“Any last words before your wishes are met?”
“Do it.”
“Okey-dokey, why don’t you go and gather your friends?”
“Eve. Promise me that there will be no more strings attached.”
“I promise,” Eve said with a smile, Angel gave her a sinister look, “oh come on. Are you telling me that you didn’t want to see Connor, Cordy and Doyle again?”
“Yes.” Angel whispered truthfully, “They did what they where supposed to do and then you bought them back.”
“But they saved your lives.”
“They shouldn’t have had to.”
“But then you wouldn’t have won.”
“And you know that as fact do you?”
“Women’s intuition.”
“Or evil psychics,” Angel said sarcastically before leaving.
ANGEL ANGEL ANGEL
Angel called everyone who could walk into the main lobby.
“I have a confession to make,” Angel said, “when I went to the white room I didn’t make the request we agreed on.”
Buffy stiffened and looked at Angel accusingly.
ANGEL ANGEL ANGEL
The room was totally white. Angel stood dressed in black and was in complete contrast to the room.
“Angel.”
He recognised the speaker as that of the demon intercessor.
“Have you and your group come to a decision?”
Angel chose his next words very carefully. “I have.”
The intercessor smiled.
“What is your decision?”
“I have decided that should we win I want the world to go back to as it was before we received the letter from the man who tried to start the war, I want that man to disappear and the war never to take place. I don’t want anyone to remember this ever.”
“Your terms are acceptable.”
“What have the Ymojoi asked for,” Angel asked.
“That cannot be said until the war is either lost or won.”
ANGEL ANGEL ANGEL
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Buffy demanded.
“I’m the boss and I knew that there would be losses, I couldn’t accept that so I asked for it to disappear, and frankly Buffy I don’t think I have to justify myself to you. I appreciate your help and understand your losses, but I don’t need you to make me believe this was a bad choice because in my mind it was the right decision and the only one.”
Xander stepped in, “How long until it takes effect?”
“In about twenty seconds,” Eve said stepping out of Angel’s office.
“Nobody will know this ever happened,” Angel informed them.
Nobody seemed to have anything to say. Or didn’t want to say anything.
Spike broke the silence with ten seconds to go, “Good war everyone.”
The group smiled at each other.
Five, four, three, two, one.
A bright white light burst through the lobby so fast that nobody even realised what was happening.
ANGEL ANGEL ANGEL
Angel stood by the window in his office, his eyes closed he took in the sunlight. The window was necro-tempered as was the rest of the building, it allowed the vampire to take in the rays from the sunshine without bursting into flames.
Harmony snuck up beside him, “Hey boss. Taking in the sunshine, I see. Y’know just the other day I almost walked out into the street at lunchtime. Can you imagine if I had?”
“Would’ve been terrible,” Angel said sarcastically as he turned and went to sit down. “What’s the matter Harmony?”
“You know, I’m not sure.”
Angel looked at his assistant.
“Do you want a drink boss?”
“I’m fine thanks.”

EPILOGUE
Eve came before the senior partners.
“So nobody remembers what happened, Eve?”
“Nobody except you and I,” she answered.
“And do we know who’s willing to die for Angel?”
“Only Wesley was willing but the experiments where flawed, the white-witch chose the two who where already gone. Fred, Gunn and Harmony all died as well as a young lady named Gwen Raiden.”
“We know of Gwen, but we believe she will not be of any trouble to us. And what of Mr Calder?”
“He’s still alive but I think that he’s more stable now Angel’s deal has wiped Chip Donovan out of memory. So did you get all the information you wanted on Angel and his gang?” Eve asked the Senior Partners.
“Yes. For now.”
