Strange Times, Part 1

Buffy didn't have a clear plan when she left Sunnydale. She got off
the bus in Los Angeles and decided to stop by her father's house.
She let herself in with her own key and found out her dad was on a
business trip. Buffy defrosted supper in the microwave, watched some
television and eventually went to sleep.
She was back in Sunnydale, walking in an underground tunnel. There
was an indistinct mass in the distance. As Buffy got closer, she
realized it was some sort of huge amorphous creature. Its body was
in constant but aimless motion. Bulges formed repeatedly from the
main body, and were absorbed back again. Suddenly, tentacles formed
from the body of the creature and headed towards her. She ran but
the tentacles grew too quickly. Her view shifted just as a tentacle
was about to hit. Now she was watching Sunnydale from the air.
Tentacles came up out of the ground and grew until they completely
blocked her view. Then they crashed to the ground, smashing the
entire town beneath them.
Buffy woke up screaming. She glanced around her room and realized she
was still in her father's house. Sunlight was coming through the
curtains. She calmed herself down and then went to make breakfast.
Afterwards, she decided to go shopping for some supplies.
The next two nights Buffy dreamed of the same creature. She
tried to convince herself they were just ordinary nightmares.
