Part Four
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Slayerettes all went home after their crying fits. Oz escorted Willow home. When they arrived at her door, she burst into tears once again. He gathered her into his arms and sat her down on the porch seat and began to gently rock her back and forth until she was ready to face her parents and tell them that her best friend had run away.
Meanwhile Cordy drove Xander home. As he stepped out of the car when they were on his driveway, she got out, threw her arms around him and began sobbing once again. Xander was devastated by Cordy's reaction. She had never really liked Buffy. This just went to show the impact Buffy had on everyone's lives. Xander began to cry hysterically. Once they had comed down they kissed and Xander walked into his house, only to collapse on his knees and start crying again.
Giles was silent the whole way home. He had gone into shock. He just couldn't accept what was happening. His Slayer, the one he was supposed to watch over and protect, was gone. He loved her so much. She was like the daughter he never had. He almost laughed as he remembered what she had said to him when they were in his car, racing to get to the museum to retrieve the missing pieces of the seal to stop the mummy. "You need to get a grown-up car." Buffy's words rang through his ears. He arrived in his driveway and just sat in his car for a few moments. He thought of what he said to Buffy after Angel had returned to the other side, "You will always have my support.... and my respect." He got out of his car and ran inside his house. He rushed into the kitchen and drank as much alcohol as his body would take in. After much effort, he dragged himself up the stairs, lay down on his bed and cried.
The next day, at the library.......
The Slayerettes all managed to go back to the library, even without Buffy, before classes started. They still had finals.
Xander was the first among them to speak. "If you think about it, Buff's kinda lucky, she's missing the tests." Through all this, he still had the gift to babble and make stupid jokes. This remark brought glares from everyone.
"Sorry. I know. Misery period. Must not make best of it or have hope of finding her." Xander apologized sarcastically.
"Xander, Buffy has made it quite clear that she does not want to be found." Giles reminded him.
Willow decided to cut in. "But Giles.... remember the last time you said not to go look forher? With the Judge? If one of us were missing Buffy would do whatever it took to find us, I just think we should do the same for her."
Giles looked down.
"I think Willow's right." Oz spoke up.
"Me too." Cordelia agreed.
"Alright then. Let's go find Buffy!"
What none of the Slayerettes had noticed was that someone had walked in on their conversation.
"You mean she's gone?!" a young female voice rang out.
They all turned around.
Xander, always the first to speak asked "Who are you?"
