Buffy and Angel stood near the fountain watching Laura draw the circle.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" she asked Angel.
Angel smiled down at her. "If it helps you." he said to her. Buffy smiled up at him.
"We're done." said Laura. Buffy picked up the athame, and paced to right in front of Angel, putting the tip of the athame on his throat.
"It is better that you rush upon this blade than enter the circle with fear in your heart." she said to him. "How do you enter?"
"With perfect love, and perfect trust." replied Angel. Buffy kissed him on both cheeks. "Welcome." she said.
"Will our powers work now?" wondered Becky.
"Lets find out." said Buffy. Remembering a simple chant spell from when she had been four, Buffy picked up the chalice and dipped it into the fountain, then chanted:
Of realms of water,
Let thou come to me.
Bound by this chalice,
Squirt art thee.
The rim of the chalice suddenly glowed blue. A small creature that seemed to be a wave of water materialized on the water.
*You have not called me recently.* hissed Squirt. *Why do you call me now?*
"To reclaim my legacy." replied Buffy. Squirt dipped back into the cup, then resurfaced. *Very well.*
"I release thee Squirt." said Buffy, waving her hand over the chalice. The elemental vanished.
There was a long moment of silence. Laura broke it by saying "What now?"
