Later that day, Spike was in his normal outfit and was leaving the hospital.
Buffy and Spike sat in Angel’s office waiting for him.
“How’s Dawn?” Spike asked.
“She’s good. She was a little upset that you died. She felt bad cuz she never got to tell you she loved you. She thinks you didn’t know but I told her you did,” Buffy said, snuggling into his arms.
Spike kissed her forehead. “I knew but I miss her.”
“She’s probably on a plane here.” Buffy said, as Angel came in.
Angel paused when he saw and angry Buffy and a smirking Spike.
“Go easy on him, Pet,” Spike said, as Buffy stood up.
Buffy looked at him. “Are you kidding me?” She asked.
“Yes,” Spike said, smiling.
“No worries then,” Buffy said, stalking over to Angel. “I’m gunna kick your ass.”
“Buffy I know you’re upset but cant we talk about it?” Angel asked, putting the desk between them.
“I think you did enough talking,” Buffy said. She jumped on the desk and pushed Angel against the weapons wall. “How dare you assume my feelings.”
“What?” Angel asked, confused.
‘Telling Spike that I never loved him,” Buffy flared.
“I never said that,” Angel said, glaring at Spike.
Spike stood up. “You said that I’m less. That’s why Buffy never really loved me. Because I wasn’t you,” he said.
Buffy released Angel. “How could you say something like that? You knew I loved him. Why didn’t you call me and tell me he was back? He needed me,” Buffy said.
“Cuz I thought it be better for the both of you,” Angel said, moving away from them.
Buffy crossed her arms. “Angel, why cant you ever let me decide what’s better for me?” She asked, softly.
“Cuz I love you,” Angel said.
“but we cant be together and you cant keep me from the one I love,” she said. “Did Andrew really take care of Dana?”
“Yeah,” Angel said.
Buffy looked at Spike. “We can go then,” she said, sliding her hand into his.
Spike and Buffy left Wolfram and Hart without another word to Angel.
At Buffy’s apartment, when Buffy and Spike walked through the door, Dawn was there.
“Spike?” She whispered.
“Hey, Dawn,” Spike said, shyly.
Dawn ran and jumped into his arms. “Oh god. I missed you so much,” she said, sobbing.
Spike lifted her off her feet and hugged her tightly. “I missed you too, Nibblet,” he said, softly.
Buffy smiled at the two of them.
Dawn released him as he set her on her feet. “Oh, god, this is incredible,” she said.
Buffy wrapped an arm around Spike’s waist. “I know but we have lots of catching up to do,” she said.
“Oh yes,” Dawn said. “We might as well get comfy. This is gunna take a while.”
The three of them sat on the couch and Spike proceeded to tell his story.
By the time he was done, both of his girls were crying and he was holding them both. “Easy girls, I’m still tender,” he said.
Buffy sniffled and got up to go to the balcony.
“She took that a lot harder then I thought,” he said.
Dawn sniffled and wiped her eyes. “Are you gunna be here in the morning?” She asked.
“Probably,” Spike said, with a smile.
“Good. Then I’m going to bed so you guys can be alone,” she said, kissing his cheek.
“Goodnight, Nibblet,” he said, kissing her forehead.
“Love you, Spike,” she said, disappearing into her bedroom.
Spike stood up and went out to Buffy. “Pet?”
Buffy was looking out into the night. “I missed you,” she said, softly.
Spike wrapped his arms around her from behind her. “I missed you, too.”
“Will you come home with me and Dawn?” Buffy asked, leaning against him.
“Do you really want me to?” Spike asked.
“Yes,” Buffy said, looking at him. “We love you and missed you. You cant possibly wanna stay here while me and Dawn go home.”
Spike smiled and kissed her. “I’ll go with you,” he said.
Buffy kissed him hungrily as the sun began to rise.
