In the morning, when Buffy forced her swollen eyes open, the pain hadn’t lessened any.
Angel had been awake all night and tried to soothe her when she had nightmares. He kissed her forehead. “You okay?”
“I should go downstairs and try to talk to everyone,” she said, pushing herself up.
Angel got up with her. “I’ll see if I can find Giles,” he said. “Make some phone calls.”
Angel scooped her up and started downstairs with her.
Dawn looked up as they came into the living room. “Buffy.”
Buffy gave her sister a small smile. “You okay?”
“I miss him,” Dawn said, as Angel set Buffy on her feet.
“Me too,” Buffy whispered.
Dawn hugged her sister. “It’ll be okay,” she said.
“No,” Buffy said, wrapping her arms around her sister. “Nothing will ever be okay again.”
Meanwhile, in another dimension, the Powers were talking to Spike.
“Do you want to see her?” The female asked.
Spike nodded mutely knowing he wanted to see if he’s girls were okay.
He peered into a reflecting pool and Buffy appeared. She was on her bed bawling in Angel’s arms. “Angel, its not fair. I was so happy with him around. I cant believe he’s gone,” Buffy whimpered.
Then the scene changed to Dawn and Buffy. “No, nothing will ever be okay again,” she said, hugging Dawn.
Spike looked up at the higher beings. “Why are you showing me this?”
“Do you want to return?” The male asked.
“Yes,” Spike said, and almost immediately the was in the dining room. “Buffy?”
