CHAPTER TWO
While Willow sat at the large oak table she worried about Mackenzie, Xander paced up and down the room
“What if she jumped off a bridge, who would save her?” he said truly panicking.
“Okay so does someone wanna explain why Xander is pacing the room thinking the worst?” Buffy asked
“Because the last time this happened Chris stopped me from jumping of a cliff.” Said Mackenzie from the doorway of Giles’s office.
“Woo,” shouted Xander running towards Mackenzie he swept her off her feet and softly kissed her on the lips, Buffy and Willow peered into the office, somebody was tied to the brown leather chair
“Mac why is there a guy that looks like you tied to a chair? The two girls asked simultaneously.
“ That’s hard to explain,”
“Do it in bullet point form then,” the red-haired girl named Willow suggested
“ Okay here goes he is my,” she paused, “god this is hard he’s my twin brother, good that feels better,”
“Just when I thought things couldn’t get any weirder,” Buffy said sarcastically
“You want weirder Buffy try living my life for once because as well as being a Charmed One I’m also a Slayer!” Mackenzie said surprising everyone including herself.
“How come I thought Faith was the new slayer,” Willow wondered
“Clearly she is, but since she abused her powers or talents or what ever the society of American adolescents call it now,” Giles Clarified. The four young teenagers stared sternly at him he sighed and continued, “So when the Watchers council found out that Mackenzie was a potential slayer, they spoke to her Elders and together they decided that Mackenzie was old enough to have her slaying abilities furthermore they decided that I would be her Watcher,”
“Yo British ---- short version next time not a bloody lecture” Mackenzie’s twin heartlessly said, Mackenzie strolled up to him and with a quick sweep of her hand she backhandedly slapped him across the face
“Hey did I say you could open that evil mouth of yours and that twisted mind work,” Mac shouted,
“Just go rot in hell Mac shame that ritual never worked!” he shouted back
“ I thought you had changed Matt”
“I did not say you could open that evil little mouth of yours and insult my friends and family. If you ever insult Giles again and I will kill you, exactly like you tried to kill me, and my best mate Willow will help me got it?” Mackenzie spat angrily at him.
“So what’s so special about tweed boy?” he inquired sneering
“Well Giles is the closest thing I have to a father at the moment seeing as Leo couldn’t deal with the prospect of having a daughter” she replied calmly she looked at Giles he had a wide smile on his face
“Well if anyone needs me I’ll be in the back sorting out the books” Giles said meekly
“Um before you go can me and Mackenzie have a copy each of Fourteenth Century English and Nineteenth Century History please?” Willow murmured her eyes spellbound to the computer screen
“So what's the deal with your brother?” Xander asked suspiciously
“Oh the usual he tried to kill me when we were nine,” she turned her attention to Buffy, “Hey Buffy or sis whatever you want me to call you now we’re related go ask Giles if he wants to come with us tonight mom might want some adult conversation,”
“What ‘bout Ryan I thought you invited him?” Buffy asked looking at the doorway to the room in which Mackenzie’s twin sat
“Well I’ll just have to uninvite him won’t I? Buffy pay attention and stop staring at Matt” She looked at her wristwatch ‘1:30’
“That’s his name, God when mom said that Piper wasn’t very creative with names only cooking I didn’t believe her, see Willow is an extraordinary name.” Buffy said absent-mindedly
“Buffy stop insulting my dead mother,” she turned to Matt
“ Look I know you’re my brother and everything but you stopped being that when we were nine you and you’re new demon buddies performed actually I say performed what I mean is nearly performed an excruciating ritual on me which thanks to Chris and Wyatt didn’t go to plan”
“How come no-one remembers me Mac? What happened was it Dad? On the other hand, maybe it was Aunt Phoebe,” He said unhappily
“No-one remembers you because I used all my strength to erase everyone’s memory of you,”
As the day wore on Mackenzie told her friends what happened the terrifying night Matthew turned evil and she learned to forgive him when she heard that the Elders had sent him to hell, brought him back and then sent him to the magic school.
“So what you going to do about the Ryan problem you have? asked Willow’s boyfriend Oz who had joined
“Simple hurt him exactly like he hurt me,” she said with an evil grin on her face
“No you won’t as your best friend guy-wise I mean I’ll hurt him!” Xander said sarcastically knowing that Mackenzie wouldn’t hurt anyone that wasn’t evil, dead, or demonic
“No Xander I got it when Ryan comes to walk me home I’ll stick my tongue down your throat okay?” She replied
