Buffy was right. She did get Leigh. Leigh came to visit Buffy and Dawn during the night. Buffy was expecting her to come. So she set Dawn off to a friend's house. Spike stayed with Buffy. When Leigh arrived at the house, Spike invited her in. Then Buffy staked Leigh. Their plan carried out just as expected.
But, what was unexpected, was Angel. He showed up because when Cordelia went to visit him, she told him that Buffy was lonely. Angel and Buffy had a little reiunion and Angel went back to LA.
