Adam was getting the feeling that Buffy knew that they were following them. Buffy had looked over her shoulder a couple of times, but fortunately each time he and Megabyte had been able to duck behind something and thus had not be seen. Still, Buffy kept looking over her shoulder. When they turned a corner he saw Willow just going around the next corner. As he passed the alley, he felt a strange feeling but could not place what it was. When he and Megabyte turned the next corner and did not see anyone, he turned to Megabyte and said, "I think they know somehow that we were following them."
"What makes you say that Adam," questioned Megabyte hesitantly.
"Well they seem to have disappeared on us. As I passed that alley back there I felt something...I think it was Buffy," answered Adam.
"Well then let's check the alley," said Megabyte.
Adam and Megabyte then quietly entered the alley way and, sure enough, there stood the three that they had been following. Buffy had indeed noticed them and knew that they were following them. When Willow asked Buffy why Adam decided that he had enough. He asked, "Well, why not ask?"
The reaction that he received was totally unexpected. Willow shrieked and turned to look at them nervously, while Xander turned quickly and had a startled look on his face. Buffy however turned quickly and then rushed forward and grabbed both Megabyte and Adam and pinned them to the wall of the alley. She then asked sweetly but menacingly "Okay then why are you following us and how did you know where we were?"
Megabyte and Adam looked at each other and wordlessly thought the same thing. That they should be ready to teleport out if Buffy did not like their answer. Adam started by saying, "If you would let us down we would gladly answer you." Buffy looked at them then eased up on them and Willow and Xander came up beside her, effectively blocking the two in.
"Well, spill it, and this better be good," Buffy warned.
"Okay we were following you because we were trying to figure out why you attacked us the other night. And to find out if you where helping Masters," responded Megabyte quickly.
"Also to determine what you are," added Adam.
"Wait a minute! We did not attack you the other night we tried to help you. All we got was Willow shot and you two disappearing on us," replied Buffy.
"Who's Masters?" asked Willow.
"And what do you mean 'what I am'?' Adam, what are you?" questioned Buffy.
"You tell'm Buffy. All you did was help them by killing the vampires that attacked them and then fight the gun men off ouch!" responded an overzealous Xander stopping as Willow quickly hit his shoulder.
"XANDER!" scolded Willow as she hit and he turned red and covered his mouth.
"The what that attacked us," cried the two teleporters.
Buffy looked at the two guys and decided that they had heard Xander and would not buy a story. So she decide the truth was the best bet. "The vampires that attacked you, they are a local gang that hates people to enter their turf. I realized that you were headed into their area after you left. I've dealt with them before and figured you needed help." responded Buffy almost truthfully.
"Oh," replied Megabyte.
"Sure, but what are you?" replied a skeptical Adam who believed Buffy was lying but not for sure about what.
"No, what are you? I mean you are the one that disappears into thin air," challenged Buffy.
Adam looked at Megabyte who shrugged, "We are the Tomorrow People the next stage in human evolution..."
After explaining to the trio what and who they are and answering the usual questions of how and why, Adam posed a question to Buffy, "Since we told you our secret...and the truth, why don't you tell us the truth? Like I said, we are telepathic with each other but we also are empathic to others. You lied, in part, to us about the gang that attacked us. In addition, you feel different from the others stronger somehow."
Buffy looked startled and the she looked at Willow and Xander. Xander just looked back giving Buffy no help but Willow gave her a questioning look like do you trust them or not. Buffy decided that she did, so she explained that she was the Slayer and with Willow and Xander backing her up what she slayed. Adam believed her but Megabyte did not fully believe her until she showed him some of her Slayer strength. This led to questions about both groups that both groups answered. Such as what was teleporting like and what was slaying vampires like. Finally Willow spoke up.
"Adam who is this Masters person and what does he want with you guys?" wondered Willow.
"Well he is a man who works for this a woman called Mulvaney that knows about us. She captured me and our friend Lisa after holding Lisa's mom hostage to keep us there," answered Adam.
"Yeah, Lady Mulvaney wants to use us to threaten governments to pay to keep us from teleporting bombs into secure places or stealing secrets and things like that," added Megabyte.
"So that is who those goons were who shot me," remarked Willow.
"Yep, my dad is looking for them and he decided that we would too. We thought that maybe you were helping them, but obviously you aren't," said Megabyte.
"Well, do you guys want some help?" asked Buffy.
"Sure, but it could be dangerous," responded Adam.
"And vampire slaying isn't," laughed Buffy at her new friend. "Maybe we should go back to the library and tell Giles what's up and then maybe Willow can help you find more about Masters...like where they are staying."
"Sure I can search the records for them," said Willow
"Okay lets do it," said Buffy.
The five friends then turned and began chatting amongst themselves as they walked back toward the library. However, neither Buffy or Adam sensed that they were being followed by Hanson and Wiseman. They had been staked out down the street when they noticed the group leaving the alley. They radioed Masters who said to follow them while he joined them.

After filling Giles in about exactly who and what Adam and Megabyte were and having finally met the two boys himself, Giles found that he too liked them. He agreed that Masters needed to be found not only for their sakes but for Buffy's.
"What do you mean for my sake as well as theirs," questioned Buffy.
Willow was sitting in front of her computer while Megabyte was working on a laptop that he borrowed from Ms. Calendar's office, neither were paying much attention to Giles.
"Well, I think I figured out most of that prophecy," replied Giles as he looked up at Buffy, Adam, and Xander as they stood around the table. "The prophecy tells that 'the boy with the fire hair and new first man shall disappear in lighting', this I believe refers to Megabyte because of his hair color and Adam because as in the biblical reference of Adam the first man, and his last name is Newman. The 'disappear in lighting' could describe the flash of their teleporting."
"Way to go there, Giles! Sounds like you nailed it," Xander exclaimed.
"Yes, but you said only part of it... What is the rest of it?" asked Adam.
Giles replied, "It says 'and knowledge is power and danger shall arrive from this for the Slayer.'"
"Yes, Giles but what does it mean," wondered Buffy.
"Sorry, Buffy, I don't know," replied Giles.
"Um, Guys...We may have a problem," called Willow from her computer.
"What's the matter Will," asked Buffy as she, Giles, Xander, and Adam surrounded Megabyte and Willow at the computer. "Well, because I do a lot of hacking from the computer system here at school, I installed a program that secures my files from other possible hackers. I don't want any one to trace me or to find out stuff in my files, so I wrote a security program that protects my files but also certain other files as well," answered Willow.
"Oh you have been naughty," smirked Xander has he looked at the 'other records.' They included his, Willow's, and Buffy's personal and permanent records in the school's database. Also she included both records for Ms. Calendar and Giles.
"What's wrong then Willow," asked Buffy not understanding the problem.
"Well the program protects my files, but for our records in the database it only tracks the when and from where they are accessed. Well all three of our records have had two hits today. One is from when Megabyte hacked in earlier to check up on us, but the other is from an outside source," replied Willow.
"And this means," Buffy prompted as she looked down at Willow.
"That Masters must know something about you. The source was hard to trace because the person was good, but me and Willow are better. The source of the hacker came from a residence that is rented to Mulvaney Industries, which Willow and I agree is likely to be where Masters is holed up," answered Megabyte.
"During the fight last night, Masters must have seen some of your Slayer strength and speed...Because you were with Megabyte and Adam, he may have figured you as a possible tomorrow person...or at least someone of use to him," said Giles as he turned and started pacing back and forth.
"Sounds like knowledge to me but were is the danger for the Slayer?" asked Xander.
As an answer to that question the library doors burst open as Masters and his men rushed in. All were armed with tranquilizer guns which the began firing. Giles jumped Masters before he could fire, but was quickly knocked unconscious as Masters hit him over the head with the butt of his gun. The other men were more successful in getting off shots, but not in hitting anyone. Buffy saw them coming and she knocked Adam out of the way before he could be hit. Unfortunately, she took a hit herself. While her healing powers worked well, the drug still caused her to fall down almost unconscious. Willow dropped down behind her chair and avoided being hit but Megabyte was not as lucky. He slumped into unconsciousness just as he teleported. Xander was hit and collapsed across the table beside the computer. Adam looked around and decided that Buffy would be needed. She and Willow were just close enough to grab.
Masters yelled, "No" as he watched as Adam and the two girls disappeared, teleported to safety. Mulvaney would kill him if she new that he had messed up again. The plan had seemed foolproof. Hanson had followed the group to the school. Since it was Saturday, and there was no one around, they had verified that the subjects were in the library and that they should be able to take them by surprise. Well, at least they had two hostages that they could use.
"Wiseman, Jenkins, help Hanson and Wiley get these two out of here before they get a chance to recover...and before the others return," ordered Masters.
