Dreamer
The phone rang in the small hotel room as everyone was reading through books about Daimon. Buffy answered the phone hoping it would be Pike calling to apologize for missing their meeting.
“Hello” Buffy said as she answered the phone.
“Buffy” Giles said in his English accent.
“Giles, thank goodness it’s you. Listen, we have a problem over here. We have a demon called Daimon that wants to open the Hellmouth. We haven’t figured anything out yet, according to the books this demon doesn’t want to end the world.” Buffy explained to Giles.
“Well, oh, I don’t know Buffy. I will try and find out more information on my own. I was just calling to tell you that we have all the potential slayers in England.” Giles responded.
“Good, keep them there. Make sure Faith keeps them safe.” Buffy ordered.
“Will do Buffy.” Giles submitted.
“Listen Giles, Willow was telling me about this tale of the Slayer she received after giving all the potentials the power. Do you know anything about this?” Buffy whispered.
“No, I can’t say that I do. The only man who possibly could have know anything is dead now.” Giles responded.
“Travers.” Buffy said in a sad voice.
“Well, I will talk to you later Buffy. Good night” Giles said as he hung up the phone.
At this point Buffy had slept roughly fifteen hours since arriving in Cleveland. She went over to the empty bed and passed out. While asleep she dreamed of her calling, Merrick arriving at the school to tell her she was the chosen one. She remembered the first time she met Giles. Then a voice came from out of nowhere.
“Behold, I am the messenger of the one they call the God of Abraham.” The mysterious voice announced.
Buffy tried to ignore the voice; she kept watching her first meeting with Giles.
“Because you are the Slayer. Into each generation a Slayer is born, one girl in all the world, a Chosen One, one born with the strength and skill to hunt the vampires...” Giles said to her.
“If you listen, you will know your destiny,” the mysterious voice said, “In the beginning the world was a vast wasteland. The Heavens had shock for 200 years with war between angels. When Michael had finally destroyed the evil forces he caste them from Heaven onto this plane. Then the Lord determined that the Earth must hold a new race. This new race would be superior to the angels in all ways. They would be called man. He set about creating the Earth to be hospitable for these new creators, in the process he caste Lucifer and his angels into Hell. Once the world was made suitable, God created Adam and Lilith. They were both made from the dust; they were separate but the same creator. One morning Lucifer escaped from Hell and he bit Lilith. She became the first vampire, a human that had the soul of a demon. Vampires were the unique creator among the entire demon world. They were humans, but demons as well. They alone could be killed while other demons were not. The Lord created Eve out of Adam’s rib, in hopes that woman would not fall under the sway of Lucifer. Lucifer was not done with them yet; he successfully was able to destroy their paradise. Eve became pregnant with a son, when he was born she called him Cain. Then she had another son, she named him Able. Cain slew Able out of anger, and the Lord placed a mark on him so that he may not be killed. Cain became the first werewolf. From them the world has vampires and werewolves. In the time of Abraham the Lord took out a member of his tribe. The Lord placed her into the hands of three men, he called them watchers. Within the body of the girl, the Lord placed the spirit of the slayer. The slayer is the only human with the strength and power to destroy the demons and forces of darkness. As one slayer would die, another would be chosen. Into her the spirit of the slayer would dwell, and this is how it was until 1997 Anno Domini. When a vampire seeking to break from his Holy prison killed a young woman. Her death was not everlasting however; she had died through water in her lungs. A friend, who breathed new life into her, brought her back to life. At this point there were two slayers, this was against the will of God.”
“What do you mean?” an unconscious Buffy said.
“Something had to be done. There could not exist two slayers. It was then determined that the second slayer would be killed. This was done, and before the vampire could suck the world back into Hell the first slayer destroyed him. Three years later the most unholy angel Glory attempted to return to her home. The slayer was capable of stopping the beast by sacrificing her own life. The balance was back the world had one slayer. Then the slayer the call Buffy was raised from her grave. Once again she was forced back into this world and two slayers coexisted. This angered the Lord, but He also saw that the world was in great peril. What the most unholy beast attempted would be surpassed by the original evil. The Lord decreed at that moment that the spirit of the slayer would no longer dwell in Heaven. It was necessary for it to exist on the Earth. The slayer Buffy was sent to the original watchers, they placed this spirit in her. Currently the slayer has both her soul and the spirit of the slayer dwelling in her. Due to the nature of the spirit of the slayer, the soul will be removed and return to its home for a third time. When this happens the world will have the first true immortal human. The world will see many more slayers, but the spirit of the slayer will always be.” The mysterious voice answered Buffy.
Almost immediately after she heard the legend she was lifted from her sleep. The sun shone into the room. Willow was studying the books. Oz took Dawn to school and Anya went to lunch with Xander. Buffy explained the dream to Willow, it was clear to Buffy from this moment that she would live forever.
Buffy left the room to search for Pike. She found him at his usual restaurant. Like usual he was drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. He was dressed in a dark black suit with a white shirt underneath.
“Pike, where were you last night?” Buffy inquired.
“I’m sorry Buffy, something came up and I couldn’t make it. Did anything happen, did you find your demon?” Pike responded.
“Yea, we know who he is now. But the strange thing is this demon has no history of wanting to destroy the world. There was a mysterious man talking to the demon and we suspect he is the one who wants to end the world. If I can get my hands on him I think this all will be over.” Buffy explained.
“I see, well happy hunting.” Pike said as he continued to sip his coffee.
Buffy continued to walk around the city. As dawn set on the city she found herself arrive at the entrance of the cemetery. She saw not far from her a man wearing a dark black suit walk towards the crypt. Buffy sneaked her way into the crypt to gain more information about the slayer.
“She knows about you. She knows that you do not want to destroy the world.” The mysterious man said.
“She must be convinced that I want to destroy it. She will not come to me when I am ready to kill her if she does not think this.” Daimon said.
“She will my master.” The mysterious man responded the Daimon. He turned to walk out of the crypt and Buffy saw whom it was.
