The next day, Gibbs walks into the office drinking his coffee and is immediantly meet by Zeva.
ZEVA-
"Morning Gibbs."
GIBBS-
"So whats going on with that Marine from yesterday?"
TONY-
"We're not sure, yet?" Gibbs flashes him a disapproving look. "I mean we're on it, boss."
ZEVA-
"Abby and Ducky wanted to see you as soon as you come in." Gibbs finishes his coffee and throws it in the trash. He then walks over to the elevator and pushes the down button.
Forsenic scientist Abigail "Abby" Sciotto is looking into a microscope while listening to music....very loudly. Gibbs enters the lab and hands Abby a very large soda drink.
ABBY-
"Aww...thanks."
GIBBS-
"What have you got Abs?"
ABBY-
"Okay, I got some skin samples from the Marine who was been identified as Corporal Samuel Garrett. But the sample is all hinky. You know why?" Gibbs looks at the devilish smile on Abby's face....she loves playing the guessing game with Gibbs.
GIBBS-
"What's hinky about it?"
ABBY-
"I thought you would never ask. The DNA sample is what's hinky....it's breaking down."
GIBBS-
"I thought that so normal?"
ABBY-
"Not like this....Gibbs this looks like the DNA from a dead person. A person who has been dead for about thirty years."
Down in the autopsy room, Corporal Garrett's nude body is laying on the table. His internal organs can be seen through the large Y insertion in his torso. Ducky walks around the body, recording everything on his recorder.
DUCKY-
"Oh dear Lord, Corporal. The subject's blood has almost been completely drained....all of his major blood vessels have collapsed due to the lack of blood pressure.....his heart, lungs, liver, in fact all of his major organs have shrunk in size." The door opens and Gibbs steps through. "Jethro can I talk to you?"
GIBBS-
"Sure, Ducky, was is it?"
DUCKY-
"I am at a complete loss, but I know someone who may be able to help."
GIBBS-
"Another medical examiner?"
DUCKY-
"No, but someone who may shed some light on this."
BATHE, ENGLAND
Giles was reading Faith's email about the attack on the Navy Base when the phone rings.
GILES-
"Rupert Giles.....Ducky is that you?"
DUCKY-
"Yes Rupert its me, how have you been?"
GILES-
"Great, and you?"
DUCKY-
"I'm fine....I'm a medical examiner with NCIS." The smile drops from Giles face, Faith had mentioned a government agency called NCIS. "I see you're no longer in the States."
GILES-
"You heard about Sunnydale?"
DUCKY-
"Yes....yes, a sinkhole. Biggest on record, if I recall. Listen, Rupert, I need your help."
GILES-
"Well, I'm going to be in that area the day after tomorrow. Maybe we can meet?" After a brief catching up with Ducky, Giles hung up the phone.
BUFFY-
"Ducky?"
GILES-
"Yes, an old chap of mine. We need to go to Washington."
BUFFY-
"Sure. Me, you, Xander, Willow, Kennedy, and Dawn."
GILES-
"Sounds good. I'll call Faith and tell her to meet us at the airport."
