"There is Nothing Wrong with Ohio Part 1"
Buffy stared into the crater as she answered her sister, “Dawn, we’re moving to Cleveland.”
The scoobies looked around at each other, wondering how Buffy could suggest that they move to another Hellmouth. But Buffy wasn’t finished.
“Giles, you are going to take Robin, Andrew, Faith, and the other slayers to England to gain the help of the Coven to find the other slayers. We will all meet back up in Cleveland to figure out where to set up shop. The First may have lost here, but it is not finished with us. The next time it shows its ugly face it will be much stronger, and we must be ready.”
Giles took off his glasses and wiped them clean, Faith walked off back to the bus to inform everyone of Buffy’s decision.
Dawn was the first to speak, “But Buffy…”
Buffy interrupted, “No Dawn, not now.”
Four hours later Buffy, Dawn, Willow, Kennedy and Xander were on board an airplane bound for Cleveland. The uncertainty that face them was all too familiar to Buffy, who made a similar move seven years prior when she moved from L.A. to Sunnydale.
They got off the plane and headed to a hotel to sleep for the night. Buffy, unable to sleep, decided to go patrolling, and figure out the landscape of this new home. She went to a couple of bars in hopes of finding one that catered to demons. Unfortuntately she was was unsuccessful, but was able to gain information that would be helpful to the scoobies. She finally found a bar about 5 minutes from her hotel, it was called Infinity.A familiar face yelled out her name as she entered into the bar.
“Buffy, is that you girl? I thought I would never see you…I mean I knew we would see each other again.” Buffy turned to see who was speaking to her and it Clem. He had apparently not thought Nebraska was good enough, so he continued on to Ohio to seek safety from the First.
“Hiya Clem, how are you?” Buffy said with a tired voice.
“Not bad, hey why don’t we have that drink I promised you?” Clem turned to the bartender and ordered them drinks.
“Thanks Clem, so do you know anything about this town? I mean, you know anything that I should know about this town?” Buffy inquired.
“No, I just got in about two hours ago, heard about the bar and haven’t really cared to ask.” Clem said while sipping his beer.
They finished their drinks and Buffy said goodbye and went back out into the darkness. She told Clem she would be seeing him, but she had to get back to her hotel. She returned home around 1 AM and as she entered she noticed everyone was still up.
Willow spoke as Buffy entered the room, “Whats the plan Buffy, mean we need to figure out how we are going to survive here.”
Buffy, “ Well, I was thinking about that while I was talking to Clem. Xander, from what I understand you can get onto a crew and start working tomorrow. Dawn you and Kennedy will stay here tomorrow and Willow and I will go hunt for a house, or apartment.”
Xander, “That sounds all well and good Buff, but what about money…none of us have any.”
Kennedy spoke, “That’s not true, I can call my dad and have him wire me enough money for us to make a down payment on a house. Or, maybe we can get some wood and you can build us a house Xander.”
Xander “That is a good idea, then maybe it won’t get destroyed.”
Dawn pipped up, “Well I could always quit school and go to work if we need the money.”
Buffy replied back, “No Dawn your completing high school. Listen, I think we all just need to go to sleep now. We will figure this all out tomorrow. Kennedy you will get up early and call your dad…try and get us that money.”
The next morning they woke up early. Kennedy made the call to her dad and he arranged to buy a house for them all to live in. Xander brought in the morning newspaper. Buffy and Dawn prepared to go enroll Dawn in school.
After leaving Dawn at the school for the rest of the day, Buffy took a walk before going back to the hotel. She passed by a man in the park who stopped and said her name
“Buffy?”
Startled Buffy turned and looked at the man, she recognized him. Her eyes brightened as she said, “Pike?”
