…For a few moments it was only just them spiraling into the happiness that
was viciously taken away and for those few moments, they enjoyed what was meant to be.
Buffy sensed a presence as her and Angel stopped their passionate
kisses, their eyes scanning for any demon or vampire that might be lurking in the night.
It was someone unexpected. Whistler arrived.
“Just what the hell are you doing here?! I thought you just puffed into thin air or something,” Buffy remarked.
“Giving you something that you both wanted to have after all these years. No catches this time I swear Slayer,” Whistler said.
“Does it have something to do with the baby? I swear you try to hurt it I will wear your rib cage as a hat,” the Slayer threatened.
“Geez I only was sent here to help,” Whistler squealed. “Anyways I was sent by the Powers That Be.
“Of course you guys already know that so I came to offer you a reward. Your child will be a boy and he will have both of your strengths and powers.”
“Just hurry up will ya!” Buffy said impatiently.
“Alright alright! After your child is born, your destiny will be change forever. For you Slayer, I give you this gift. You deserve it more than anyone after you had risked yourself to save your friends and the world countless times.”
“My gift to you is that Angel will finally become human for as long as you both shall live, and he will still have the strength and healing of a vampire. He will become human tonight by the exact stroke of midnight.”
"Angel and Buffy, Vampire and Vampire Slayer, the Champions of the Powers That Be, The Powers and I give you this gift for your sacrifice and your willingness to put your lives at risk to save others. This is to you."
With that, Whistler disappeared. Buffy began to cry and laugh, knowing this was what she had wanted for most of her life.
For Angel becoming human and most importantly, having the ability to walk in the sun again was a true gift.
