A/N: I decided to do a remake of This Year's Girl titled Our Farewell because i felt like i had to lengthened it and improve it as well. Enjoy. This is to all my fellow B/A fans
Angel: "I couldn't tell you. I wasn't sure if I could do it if I woke up with you one more morning."
Buffy: "I heard your heart beat."
Buffy: "I'll never forget."
Buffy: "A minute? No. No, it's not enough time!"
The unfamiliar words that were spoken lingered in Buffy’s thoughts as she carried her one luggage over her slender
shoulders, boarding the lone Greyhound bus that was about to take her to her home. Sunnydale. The Hellmouth.
She entered the lone and dank bus, her hazel eyes scanning for the perfect seat as she sighed heavily.
Confusion filled her thoughts and her heart about the events that took place long before
she entered that bus. Events that she herself as the Slayer couldn’t explain in mere words.
Whatever event transpired, she could no longer remember. It was only just a distant memory locked in the back of her wandering mind.
Something that had to do with Angel becoming human…
Buffy quickly erase that impossible thought away, laughing quietly to herself at the absurdness of that thought.
Angel becoming human was the one wish she always wanted to become a reality.
Sadly she knew better than that.
It was never going to happen as long as she was the Slayer and he the vampire with a soul battling countless evil in the depths of L.A.
It didn’t matter now. Angel was no longer a part of her life.
The thought itself brought excruciating pain that never seemed to fade away.
Another sighed escaped from her lips as she took a seat in the middle
of the lonely bus, her eyes looking out into the twinkling skyline of downtown L.A.
Exhaustion overwhelming her, Buffy fluttered her eyes as she entered the realm of slumber, her thoughts only on Angel. Nothing more.
"Just like I've always wanted to. Like a normal girl, falling asleep in the arms of her normal boyfriend. It's perfect."
"Throw down the hatches. here comes hurricane Buffy."
"I'm free."
"I'm alive."
Quickly Buffy awoke, confused by the voices in her mind.
She took a deep breath as a wave of dizziness hit her with full force.
Instinctively she stood up and quickly walked towards the small washroom
in the back, shutting the door behind her as she released contents from her stomach.
The voices in her thoughts returned, but this time she only heard the
voice of Angel himself and others she did not recognize. A small smile plastered to her lips.
"Oh my God... food... I love chocolate."
"And I am soooo hungry."
"I love chocolate! Ugh, but not as it turns out yogurt. Urgh!"
Female Oracle: "You alone will carry the memory of this day. Can you carry that burden?"
Male Oracle: "From this day, you will live and die as any mortal man."
“What the hell? Angel becoming human? The Oracles? The messengers for the Powers That Be?
What the hell is going on here?” Buffy whispered to herself.
She stood as she gotten hold of paper towels to clean herself but she didn’t pay further attention.
Another wave of dizziness hit her as she walked back to her seat.
She went back to slumber, this time sleeping throughout the trip to Sunnydale.
“Mom, you home?” Buffy yelled as she entered her home on 1630 Revello Drive. Only silence answered her.
Where could she be?
She walked straight towards the kitchen, noticing a white piece of paper taped to her fridge.
Dear Buffy,
I had to go out of town for a few days to get some more pictures for the Gallery. There's money on the counter for food. Be back in a few days.
Love, Mom
“Ok so it’s just me. Peachy,” Buffy said to herself, whistling and mumbling.
As she dropped her luggage, she walked up the stairs straight towards her room.
She opened the door, the room welcoming her as the scent of sunlight intoxicated the air.
I missed this.
She smiled grimly to herself, remembering the times Angel had snuck into her room through her window.
She missed that.
She stood in her bed, looking towards the cross necklace
he had given her the first night they met when more dizziness stroke.
Wanting nothing more than to sleep and dream, she tossed the light comforter
over herself as she went to sleep peacefully, thoughts of her and Angel remaining.
"When you're around whether or not I see you I feel you."
Angel: "Because more than ever I know how much I love you."
Unbeknownst to her, Buffy’s life was about to change….forever..
