Buffy looked around wildly. There was no sign of either the vampire or her best friend anywhere. < I was responsible for her safety and I let Spike kidnap her from right under my nose! This never would have happened normally! I hate Friday the 13th! >

“We’re here.”

Willow looked around her surroundings, trying to discern where she was. She then noticed that he was heading for the car parked in front of it and not for the door.

Spike put the girl down carelessly and opened the passenger side door to his car. “Inside. Now.”

Free from his arms and the sight of his tush, Willow was beginning to regain some of the common sense (definition: panic) she had lost for a while. She looked into Spike’s eyes and gulped. < I hope this works. > “If you don’t mind, I’d rather stay here. I-I like it out here. Um ... nice weather we’re having tonight.”

Spike stared at her in disbelief. “Weather?”

“Y-yeah ... with the breeze, and the bright light of the moon ...”

“I don’t have time for games, Red,” Spike said, a hint of menace in his voice. “I don’t give a damn whether there’s a moon or not. I just want you to get in the bloody car.”

She looked at him and spoke, her voice softly defiant. “And what if I don’t?”

“For god’s sake, do I have to threaten you every time I want you to do something? Let me spell it out for you, Red. Get. In. The. Car. Now.” He took a step towards her, his eyes glinting dangerously.

Willow’s her eyes darted around nervously, looking for signs of the Slayer. “I ... no. No. I am not getting in the car, Spike, and ... and threatening me with broken bottles won’t make me change my mind this time.”

“Oh, is that right?” He moved closer, and his hands reached for her involuntarily. Willow squeaked in fright and moved away, but she decided to tempt Fate one more time and refuse to cooperate.

“Don’t.”

Spike dropped his hands, exasperated. “I could snap you in two very easily, you know.”

“I kn-know.”

Spike swore under his breath and reached for her again. He grabbed Willow’s arms, but instead of snapping her neck as he ought to ... he kissed her. Hard. He crushed the little witch to his chest and plundered her mouth with his tongue. Willow, surprised, let him.

“Willow!”

Willow pulled away and gasped. “Buffy! I ...”

It was then that Spike shoved her inside the open door of the Fireflite and slammed the door behind her. Dashing over to the driver’s side of the car, he leapt in and gunned the engine. He stepped on the gas and sped away. He looked at the very angry image of the Slayer trying to run up to the car from his rearview mirror and smiled.

“Buffy!” Willow frantically tried opening the door, but Spike had locked it automatically. Somehow. < I didn’t think 50’s cars had automatic locks! > She thumped the darkened glass uselessly. The windows, too, were put on automatic lock.

“I had the locks installed that way, luv,” drawled Spike, observing her actions from the corner of his eye. You can’t get out unless I let you.”

Willow could only stare helplessly out the window at Buffy, who, even with her supernatural speed, couldn’t catch up with them. She was soon left far behind.

“You might as well relax, pet. It’s going to be a long drive.” Spike lit a cigarette and drew deeply on it. The smell of smoke soon filled the interior of the car.

Willow pressed herself to the passenger side door and wrinkled her nose in disgust. “Could you please put that out, Spike?” She waved away the hazy smoke and muttered under her breath, “It’s bad enough you kidnap me on Friday the 13th, do you have to kill me with secondhand smoke too?”

Spike had heard her mumbled comment, of course, but he thought nothing of it. He wasn’t about to put out his cigarette just for her. That was a weak, silly thing to do. And weak and silly acts like that were what caused his Dru to leave him. So the cigarette was staying, whether she liked it or not. Then he noted her miserable expression and sighed. He did that a lot for a vampire who didn’t need to breathe. He put out the cigarette almost grouchily, the tick in his cheek showing how unhappy he was with the whole situation.

“Thank you,” said Willow softly. She turned her attention to the window beside her, studiously keeping her gaze trained on the passing view and not on the vampire next to her. She saw the “You are now leaving Sunnydale” sign outside and bit her lip in consternation. < I don’t even know where he’s taking me! > She debated whether or not to ask Spike about their destination, but talking to the vampire did not seem like a good idea. A quick glance his way showed her that he was scowling fiercely about something or the other. The kiss, maybe?

Why had he kissed her anyway? she told herself, blushing faintly at the memory. But was that his tongue in her mouth? Willow had to admit, if only to herself, that she had enjoyed that kiss very much. Maybe too much. But she and Oz had broken up, hadn’t they? Therefore, she wasn’t actually cheating on him when she thought of Spike kissage ... was she?

< I am a kidnappee, > she reminded herself. < I am being held against my will. My kidnapper, none other than William the Bloody, tricked me into getting in the car by giving me the most amazing kiss I’ve had since ... well, ever. Sorry Oz. > She blinked at the disloyal thought, but she couldn’t deny the truth.

< I should be scared to death right now. I should be trying to think of ways to escape. I should be screaming for help or praying for Buffy to come save me or something. > She eyed Spike discreetly, then looked away again quickly. A small smile spread across her face, almost involuntarily.
