~ The library, Raleighfield High School, Raleighfield California – a few minutes earlier~
Rebecca leaned against one of the tables to keep her balance. Belle looked at her worried since she noticed that Rebecca had lost a lot of color in her cheeks. Next to Rebecca Nigel stood officially.
“What’s going on?” Belle asked, “are you okay Rebecca?”
Rebecca and Nigel looked at each other.
“I’m not going to be able to help with your training.”
“Why not?” she asked, “has it got something to do with that virus thing you have?”
“Yeah.”
“How bad is it?”
“Rebecca’s dieing.”
Belle looked at them in shock.
“no way you can’t be serious!” she exclaimed
Rebecca tried to straightened up.
“I’m not recovering as fast as I thought.”
“Well then lets look stuff up,” Belle ordered as she moved over to the stacks, “There’s gotta be something in here that can help.”
“There’s nothing here that can help Belle .”
“Have you looked!”
Belle didn’t stop she kept pulling books out. Nigel put his hand on her shoulder.
“The only one who can help us is the Goddess Willow and she is already investigating.” Nigel replied
Belle stopped she looked at The Divine One. She pouted as she tried to fight back the tears. Getting to her feet Rebecca moved over and hugged the slayer.
“I’m sorry I can be there to see you become the great slayer I know you’re going to be.” Rebecca said
Belle let the tears flow as she leaned her head against Rebecca’s shoulder. Suddenly there was a loud crashing sound coming from outside. Belle looked at the door curiously as she walked over. a look of shock crossed her face as she saw Heidi being cornered by a woman wearing black. She watched as the woman pulled out a knife. There wasn’t much time to lose.
Outside Heidi looked at Id terrified as Id drew her blade.
“. . . and now you’re gonna pay the price,” Id said menacingly, “But first.”
Id swung the blade around in her hand. Turning quickly she tossed it narrowly avoiding Belle by inches surprising the slayer. Id smiled at her
“You didn’t think you could sneak up on me now did you Slayer?” she continued, “I know you were going to be there before you did.”
Belle struck a fighting pose. Id rolled her eyes.
“Oh please. I know you’re upset that you found out The Divine One’s dieing and you’re still kinda mad that your brother told your dad you went out but don’t turn this into a stupid move.”
The slayer looked at Id curiously.
“How’d you know that?”
Id sneered at her.
“You’ll work it out . . .” She replied
Id looked between the both of them and sighed
“. . . Know what? I’m getting really bored.”
Id concentrated. Suddenly the library doors swung open. Belle flew backwards and landed hard against the stacks. Id swung around and grabbed Heidi by her jacket collar. She tossed into the library and Heidi collided with Belle. Id stormed in and leaned over Heidi.
“This is your final warning Heidi,” she snarled, “You are not to help these people with anything! If you go against me again I will gut and put your head on a pole . . .”
Heidi sat petrified as Id glared at her. On the sidelines Nigel and Rebecca watched the scene cautiously. Trying not to draw attention to herself Rebecca formed an energy ball. Slowly Rebecca raised her arm.
“ . . . and if you even try that energy ball crap with me Divine One you will not be standing after.”
Id straightened and shifted her gazed to Rebecca. Rebecca lowered the arm dissipating the ball. Id pointed her finger at Heidi.
“Heidi is a waste of time. She is not worth your attention.”
“I think that’s for us to decide.” Rebecca replied
“Always thought you were a bad judge of character Rebecca. Then again you thought you could beat the Trinity.”
“I did.” Rebecca reply coldly
Id laughed.
“Yeah you keep telling yourself that.”
With that Id Vanished in a cloud of vapor. Painfully Belle got back onto her feet helping Heidi up as she did.
“What the hell was that?” Belle asked
“Possibly some kind of witch,” Nigel, “Maybe a specter or a ghost.”
“She knew a hell of a lot for a ghost.”
“What ever she is we need to find out what she want’s with Heidi.” Rebecca replied
Rebecca looked over to Heidi who was hugging herself anxiously. Nigel ran a few things through his mind.
“I have some references at home I’ll go and collect them.”
“Right,” Rebecca replied, “You two better head to class. I’ll look around the school see if there is any sign of this woman.”
“You sure you don’t want backup?” Belle asked
“No. keep an eye on Heidi.”
Belle smiled at Heidi and put her arm around her.
“No problem.”
Belle and Heidi. Turned to leave the library. Rebecca couldn’t help but notice Heidi’s scared expression.
“Heidi come here . . .” Rebecca said
Complying Heidi walked over to Rebecca. The fear in Heidi’s eyes was unparallel to anything The Divine One had seen before. Rebecca put her hands on Heidi’s shoulders as she gazed into her eyes in a serious manner.
“ . . . You are not a waste of time okay? I want you to remember that.”
Heidi dropped her head and nodded sadly. Rebecca tried to match her eye line.
“Heidi look at me,” Rebecca continued, “you are not a waste of time.”
“Okay.” Heidi replied. As much as she tired to sound convincing she didn’t feel it.
~ Hallway, Raleighfield High School, Raleighfield California – 30 minutes later ~
Rebecca walked down the long line of lockers. So far there was no sign of this strange woman that want’s to hurt Heidi. She rounded the corner and noticed the flurry of activity around the lockers that opened themselves. Nearby Abby, the English teacher, looked at this scene with confusion. Rebecca walked up next to her.
“What happened here?” she asked
“No clue,” Abby replied, “I talked to some of the students around here and they say these doors opened by themselves.”
Rebecca looked at the teacher.
“By themselves?”
“Apparently yeah. It sounds a lot like what happened in my class yesterday. A lot of stuff just started to move and shake on it‘s own.”
~ the home of Nigel Wincroft, Raleighfield California ~
“So the locker were forced open.” Nigel asked, “are you sure they weren’t just unlocked?”
“Positive,” Rebecca replied from her office, “I checked out some of the doors and the locks were physically ripped open.”
Nigel sat down in his arm chair. He put down the pile of small books he was carrying.
“Interesting. We might be dealing with a Atulldri demon they are known for their mischievous acts”
“Can these demons turn invisible?”
“As far as I know no they can’t. why do you ask?”
“Because the incident in the hallway happened in plane view and there was no report of monster activity.”
Nigel thought about this.
“I’ll reexamine my books see if I can come up with something else.”
“There’s more,” Rebecca continued, “I talked to Abby. She told me about another incident in her classroom where books also started to move on their own. I checked her student list and Heidi was in that class.”
“Well that’s not unusual this woman is targeting Heidi.”
“I know but, when we saw her, she didn’t seem like the hiding type, also, Abby mention that Heidi looked like she was in pain before everything happened.”
“Before,” Nigel replied with interest, “Rebecca I’ll call you back I may know someone I can talk to.”
“Hurry. we need to know how to keep Heidi safe.”
Nigel hung up the phone. a moment later he picked up the receiver and dialed a number.
“This is Nigel Wincroft. I need to speak with Frank Masters.”
~ Rebecca Whitfield’s office, Raleighfield High School, Raleighfield California ~
Rebecca hung up her receiver. She sighed and shifted uncomfortably in her seat. Rebecca was still feeling the lingering effects of the virus. There was a light knock on her door.
“Come in?” Rebecca asked
The door opened and Sergeant Peter Galloway stepped in. Rebecca looked up at him curiously.
“Can I help you officer?”
“Yes you’re the councilor right?”
“That’s right.”
Peter sat down. He looked at Rebecca tentatively.
“I want to talk to you about by daughter.”
Rebecca pulled out her notebook.
“Alright, who’s your daughter?”
“Belle Galloway.”
Rebecca stopped. She looked at the police officer closely. Finally she recognized who he was.
“I’m worried about her.” He continued
“What are you worried about specifically?” Rebecca asked trying to keep focused
“I’ve been noticing a change in her behavior.”
“Well girls her age start to become curious.”
“No that’s not what I’m talking about . . .”
Peter leaned forward.
“. . . lately she’s become secretive and her attitude has change.”
“In what way?”
“Well I caught her a couple of times trying to sneak out of the house late at night and when I ask her about this she lied to me.”
“Mr. Galloway I’m sure it’s nothing serious,” Rebecca replied, “Belle’s at the age where she’s trying to find her own identity.”
“I’m just afraid she’s getting herself into trouble. I talked to her coach and he told me she hasn’t run in over three months. Belle used to love running it’s all she thought about. Now it’s like I don’t even know who she is anymore.”
Rebecca looked at the anxious parent sympathetically.
“Belle is a intelligent, strong, young woman I know she would never give you any reason to worry.”
“There’s something else. I was going through some of her drawers and I found this.”
Peter pulled out the stake from his pocket and placed it on Rebecca’s desk.
“I’m worried she’s joined one of the strange street gangs in this town.”
Rebecca picked up the stake and looked at it.
“If you’d like I can have a talk with her.”
“Please,” Peter replied sighing sadly, “My wife was always good with dealing with these problems. I’m going for my detective shield soon so hopefully I should have more hours with the kids.”
Rebecca smiled at him.
“Trust me, Belle, you don’t have to worry about,” she replied, “Nolan on the other hand . . .”
Peter Galloway laughed
“That’s just Nolan,” Peter commented, “It’s part of what makes him him.”
~ Cafeteria, Raleighfield High School, Raleighfield California – lunch time~
Heidi sat miserably at the lunch table. Belle sat across from her and looked at her friend sadly.
“Don’t worry Heidi they’ll figure this out,” Belle said cheerfully, “Beck and Nigel they’re, like, god at this finding stuff out thing.”
This didn’t make her feel better. Heidi rested her head on her hands. Belle wasn’t sure what to do. She was still relatively new to the supernatural world and wasn’t sure how to deal with these situation. A few moment’s later Nolan entered the room. Heidi looked up at him and a small smiled crossed her face. That smile disappeared when she saw him instantly rush over to Angie. Belle looked to where Heidi was staring and shook her head.
“Listen, my brother’s an idiot. He wouldn’t know the right girl even if she was in front of his face.” She replied
Heidi frowned angrily as she stared at both Nolan and Angie. She frowned more when she saw Angie start to smile and laugh him. Belle put her arm around Heidi.
e
“Forget about him okay I still owe Nolan a pounding. How about you and me head out after school and we can . . .”
Belle stop suddenly when she heard a faint rattling sound. She looked down and noticed her cutlery starting to shake. This wasn’t just happening to her all the other table’s were experiencing the same problem. Students started to back away from their lunches as knives and forks began to levitate. Like before Heidi didn’t notice she was too focused on Nolan and Angie who, for some reason, were unaffected by the strange phenomenon.
Belle watched cautiously as the knives and forks suddenly began to point in her brothers direction. It didn’t take long for the slayer to work out what was going to happen next. Wasting no time Belle jumped up onto the table and dashed ahead as fast as she could just as the cutlery began to fly. Belle jumped from table to table and, moments before Nolan and Angie were hit with a barrage of eating utensils Belle managed to crash tackle them to the ground. the knives and forks hit the back wall hard embedding themselves deeply.
Belle sat up.
“You guys okay?” she asked
Nolan rubbed the back of his neck annoyed.
“I was until you decided to jump me.” He replied
“Well it was either that or be skewered.” Belle commented gesturing to the back wall.
Nolan and angie looked up in shock as they saw the back wall completely covered.
“What’s going on?” Angie asked
“I don’t know but I don’t think it’s safe in here.”
Belle helped them to their feet. Belle looked over to Heidi, who looked like she was shaking off a nightmare.
“Heidi!” she yelled, “go find Rebecca.”
Realizing what was going on Heidi nodded and rushed out of the lunch room. Belle, Angie and Nolan followed suit leaving a few moments later. The three of them ran until they were outside. They panted heavily as they watched Heidi enter the gym.
“What do we do now?” Nolan asked
“We’ll wait for Rebecca she’ll know what to do?”
“Why did those things try and kill us?” Angie asked
“Nigel thought the school might be haunted,” Belle replied, “We saw this weird woman before who was trying to hurt Heidi.”
“Oh great, ghost girls, how are we supposed to stop them?”
“Well,” a voice said from behind them, “The trick is to find them first.”
Belle swung around and saw Id leaning against the outside wall. She twisted her face up in anger and moved into a defensive position between her and Nolan, Angie. Id shook her head.
“Sit down slayer.” She said
Suddenly Belle felt her knees get weak. She collapsed roughly onto one of the benches nearby. Id turned her attention to the Gym.
“So Heidi went to talk to The Divine One,” She commented casually, “She really didn’t learn did she? Oh well guess I have to kill her now.”
Id pushed off the wall lazily and started to walk towards the Gym.
“What makes you think I’m gonna let you touch her?” Belle yelled at her
“Sleep.” Id replied
Suddenly Belle collapsed onto her side. Nolan rushed over to her.
“When she wakes up Nolan,” Id continued, “Tell her she has one less friend.”
Inside the gym the career stalls were up and bustling. Rebecca showed Peter to the police stall and watched him take his position. Suddenly she felt somebody grab her arm. Rebecca turned to see Nigel staring at her seriously.
“I need to speak to you now.” He insisted
“Nigel?” Rebecca replied, “Did you find something.”
“Heidi’s in more danger then we first thought.”
“What do you mean?”
Just then Heidi rushed up to the both of them. Out of breath she pointed in the direction of the cafeteria.
“Something just tried to attack Nolan,” she said desperately, “all these knives and forks started to . . .”
“ . . . move on their own.” Nigel concluded
“Yeah how did you know that?”
Nigel looked at the both of them intently.
“Head to the library I’ll explain there.”
All three started to head for the exit. Suddenly Heidi was grabbed by the throat and yanked off her feet. Id glared at the girl with intense anger as she threw her viciously down the gym and against the back wall. Rebecca tried to move in but Id turned and face them all.
“Everybody wants to leave now.” She announced
Suddenly, and almost in unison, the entire crowd moved out the exit as if they were under a spell. Once the room was cleared the doors slammed shut by themselves and locked tight. Id turned back to Heidi and knelt down.
“Now it’s just you and me little girl.” Id snarled

The group sat around seriously as the entire school was plunged into chaos. They managed to lock the doors before anybody tried to enter giving them the privacy they needed. Rebecca paced around anxiously as she stared at the gym.
“What the hell is going on?” Nolan asked, “Who is that woman?”
“I don’t care who she is. We need to storm in there now and get Heidi away from her.” Belle snapped
“Won’t work,” Rebecca replied, “She’s got some kind of mind power.”
“Then we need to do it quick before we can react.”
“I’m afraid it’s not that simple.” Nigel replied
“Why not?” Nolan asked, “This thing’s evil you guy’s hurt evil a lot. What’s the problem?”
“The problem is that the woman isn’t the problem.”
“I was just switched off like a remote controlled car,” Belle yelled, “I’d call that a problem.”
Rebecca looked at Nigel curiously.
“Hold on a second,” she said, “what do you mean by the woman’s not the problem?”
“All of you sit down this is going to take some time to explain.” Nigel replied
“I’m happy standing thank’s” belle replied, “I just want to know one thing from you. What’s attacking Heidi?”
Nigel looked at the group with purpose. The answer he had was only going to cause more question but he had little choice. Nigel sighed.
“Heidi is.” He replied
