Rorgia paced as his troops readied themselves for the task they’ve been assigned. Thalon walked up next to him and joined in the watching.
“Everything is in readiness Rorgia.”
“Then lets put it in motion.” Rorgia replied
Thalon nodded. He turned to leave but Rorgia took his arm.
“I want her to hurt Thalon, “ Rorgia said seriously, “I want her to feel pain beyond any pain she had ever felt.”
“I’ll head the attack on Nighthawk myself Rorgia.”
“Not Nighthawk the brother she took something from me I want to repay her in kind.”

Penny closed the door slowly. For the last few hours she couldn’t shake the smile off her face. It had been two years since she had seen either Rebecca or Alex and seeing them again lifted a huge weight off her shoulders. She noticed Brett sitting on his bed and rushed up. Penny straddled him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Hey there cutie.” She said playfully before kissing him passionately
Something in the kiss didn’t feel right. Penny pulled back and looked at him seriously.
“Okay what’s up?” she asked
“Check the other room.” Brett replied seriously.
Curious Penny got to her feet and walked into the other bedroom. In the bedroom The Wanderer and Megan sat with two strangers as she entered she saw Willow and Angel turn to look at her. Penny covered her mouth in surprise.
“Oh my god.” She exclaimed
Willow smiled at her broadly. She walked and hugged the slayer.
“Hey sweetie,” she said, “It’s so good to see you again.”
“Where have you guys been?”
“Looking for you,” Angel replied as he pulled out the note, “Got a letter to come to Raleighfield.”
“You to? Looks like the weirdness didn’t stop with us.” Megan replied
Angel and Willow looked at each other.
“We have got to talk to Heidi.” Willow commented

Nigel walked briskly out the front of the school. Slung over his back is the bag containing the Signum Key. As much as he wanted to study the key he knew perfectly well that the school wasn’t safe. In a car parked across from the school grounds Darrel watched the watcher as he scurried across the road as quickly as he could.
“There it goes,” Darrel said seriously
“I don’t get it sir I thought you said that the divine one didn’t tell you where the key was located.” Darrel's associate said on the other end of the phone line
“She didn’t need to,” Darrel replied keeping his eyes fixed on Nigel, “I already knew the key was in the library.”
“Then why did you go visit her?”
“I like to think of it as pouring salt in the wound.” Darrel replied
Nigel entered the alleyway. Darrel stepped out of his car and moved to the entrance slowly. He watched as Nigel walked up to a Graphiti covered wall. He pulled out a small notebook and began to read out the incantation written inside. Suddenly the graphiti began to glow. The lines moved and swirled until they formed the shape of a door. The door opened slowly and the watcher stepped inside.
“I hope you’re ready because he’s moved inside.” Darrel continued
Behind the doorway the chamber was pitch black. Nigel searched around inside his jacket pocket and pulled out a small ball. Reciting a second spell the ball began to glow. There was a bright flash and a dozen or so candle lit simultaneously revealing the room in it’s entirety. It was a stone chamber that had the appearance of an 11th century dungeon.
The walls were lined with hundreds of shelves each containing various artifacts and items of power. Nigel hurried to the very back of the chamber to a particular shelf set aside for the Signum pieces. From the pouch on his back he pulled out the Signum key and placed it in it’s position on the shelve.
“There now,” Nigel said, “You will not be causing any harms to anybody now.”
Suddenly Nigel was grabbed roughly by the shoulder and flung into an adjacent wall. He turned around to see four vampires accompanied by a human holding a shotgun hovering over him.
“I wouldn’t be to hasty to make that assumption Mr. Wincroft.” Darrel said as he walked slowly into view.
Nigel tried to get to his feet but one of the vampires pushed him back down onto the ground. Darrel scanned the other shelves lightly.
“Amazing,” Darrel said stunned, “I knew this place existed but I never expected it to be so big. The Council of Watchers storage sanctum . . .”
Darrel turned and saw the Signum Key. A broad mischievous smile crossed his face.
“ . . . and here’s the icing on the cake . . .”
Darrel lifted off the Signum Key off the shelf and looked at it closely. He then shifted his attention to Nigel.
“ . . . make sure Mr. Wincroft gets the attention he deserves. I want The Divine One to understand the consequences of her actions.”

Alex hummed to himself happily as he poured himself a coffee. Across from him sat his teachers aide Clare who smiled at him playfully.
“You’re in a good mood.” She said
Alex sat down and handed her a mug. He beamed like a ten year old at Christmas.
“Something amazing happened today.” Alex replied
“does that something involve a certain young red head who isn’t your wife?”
Alex gave Clare a look.
“Don’t worry I’m not going to tell Rebecca. What you do with your life is your . . .”
“That red head’s my sister.” Alex replied sharply.
Clare looked at him awkwardly
“Oh,” she replied, “’Scuse me a moment while I pull my foot out of my mouth.”
“It’s okay. Penny disappeared two years ago,” Alex explained, “It was the day after Rebecca and I got married.”
“She didn’t approve?”
“No it was nothing like that. There was this . . . riot in L.A. and she got caught in the middle of it.”
“I think I heard about that. They said the city was at a stand still.”
“Yeah it was a crazy day,” Alex replied, “the one thing I always regretted was never telling her how much I loved her. And now I have that chance again.”
Just then one of the administration staff entered the staffroom.
“Oh there you are Alex, “ she said, “There’s someone in your office who wants to see you.”
Alex walked into his office to find his chair facing the back wall. Alex sensed trouble and walked up to his desk cautiously.
“Can I help you?” he asked
Behind him two demons materialized and grabbed him by the arms. Alex struggled against them but they were too strong. The chair turned around to reveal Thalon sitting seriously.
“Mr. Whitfield?” the demon asked
“What do you want with me?”
“What we want is a certain red haired slayer and the disk she took from us,” Thalon replied, “and your going to help us.”
“What makes you think I’m going to do that?” Alex asked defiantly
“Because, Alex, if you don’t the pain you are going to suffer will be constant, unbearable and it will last the rest of your life.”

Heidi stared intently at Sarah as she sat with her friends to eat lunch. Next to Heidi Nolan and Belle watched her curiously.
“What do you think she doing?” Belle asked quietly
“I don’t know trying to get heat vision?” Nolan replied, “Hey Heidi what’s with the eyeballing?”
“Troubles coming.” Heidi replied seriously
“Yeah like we need a psychic to tell us that.”
“Heidi marsh please report to the Councilors office immediately.” the announcement called out
Again Belle and Nolan looked at each other.
“What does Beck want?” Nolan asked
“It’s not her,” Heidi replied packing up her things, “The Vampire and the Goddess want answers.”
Heidi walked out of the room leaving the siblings even more confused then when they entered.
“Oh I have to see this.” Nolan replied as he followed Heidi’s actions
All three entered Rebecca's office to see Willow, Angel and Penny flanking the Divine One. With a touch of nervousness Heidi sat down while Belle and Nolan stood at the side of the room. Rebecca looked at the young seer seriously.
“I believe you owe us all an explanation Heidi.” Rebecca said seriously
Heidi looked up at them all timidly as she tried to hide the smile that crossed her face.
“T-things are in motion.”
“You said that already what does it mean?”
“I-I had to make sure Nighthawk could make it to Raleighfield with the key safely. P-people were all over the place . . . not where they needed to be. I-I had to fix that.”
“I don’t understand.”
“I think I do,” Angel replied, “everything that’s happened over the last few days you knew it was going to happen didn’t you?”
Heidi nodded.
“So you deliberately sent me to the watchers office at the museum.”
“Y-yeah.” Heidi replied
Rebecca looked at Angel curiously.
“Angel?”
“If I wasn’t at that office those demons would have killed Brant after he told them were the key was.” Angel replied
“And If I hadn’t arrived after that I never would have known Brant was in trouble,” Penny continued, “I also wouldn’t have gotten the message Megan got in time if I hadn’t have rung her there and then.”
“So sending us to the warehouse wasn’t about finding Brunt was it?” Willow asked
“T-the path needed to be cleared.” Heidi explained
Penny smirked.
“I wondered why all the guards were dead.” Penny replied
“Hang on,” Rebecca said as she tried to absorb all the information, “you’re telling us that all of this was about getting Nighthawk to Raleighfield.”
“Surprise.” Heidi giggled
“Why didn’t you tell us about this straight?” Rebecca inquired, “Why the cryptic trail?”
Heidi looked out the doorway. She noticed Sarah walking past with her friends. Slowly she looked back at Rebecca.
“People are watching.” She replied seriously

Nighthawk and Rebecca leaned on opposite tombstones. Nighthawk straightened her long leather jacket as they both waited for Belle to arrive. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Rebecca smirking at her as she looked the masked champion up and down. Nighthawk folded her arms and glared at her playfully.
“What?” she asked
“Nothing.” Rebecca replied sharply
Nighthawk rolled her eyes.
“Come on Rebecca.”
“No, seriously, it’s nothing.”
“It’s not nothing.”
Rebecca smiled at her.
“Sorry I just have Shona’s voice running through my head.”
Nighthawk smirked back at her.
“You know you want to say it.”
“Damn girl! What the hell are ya wearin’?” Rebecca replied doing her best Shona impression she could, “I ain’t goin’ out with you like that.”
Both women laughed. Nighthawk sighed and Rebecca noticed a touch of sadness enter her friends face.
“I miss her.” Nighthawk said sadly
“Yeah me too,” Rebecca replied, “Penny I want to ask you something and I want you to give me the truth.”
“Alright.”
“What happened to you last month?”
Nighthawk went silent. She tried to hide the air of tension unsuccessfully.
“It’s nothing.” Nighthawk replied
“it’s not nothing Pen I can see it in your eyes and in your boyfriends eyes too. What happened was serious.”
“It’s been dealt with Beck we don’t need to drag it up again.”
“It has something to do with Shona doesn’t it?”
“Will you stop!” Nighthawk snapped at her, “I said it’s over.”
“Alright Pen but if you want to talk you know I’m willing to listen.”
“I know.” Nighthawk replied
“Oh my god!” Belle said sharply, “What are you doing here?”
Nighthawk looked at the slayer’s angry expression nervously.
“Ah . . . Hi.”
“Wasn’t ruining one of my Patrols enough?”
“I’m really, really sorry about that.”
Rebecca looked at the both of them curiously.
“What’s going on?”
“I, sorta, bumped into her the other night.” Nighthawk explained
“you mean bumped into the vamps I was supposed to be slaying.” Belle replied sharply
“That’s what that was about?” Rebecca asked, “Belle you really have to relax more.”
As Belle was replying Hope flew down and landed on the tombstone Nighthawk was leaning on. She started chirp wildly at her which made the champion curious.
“Oh my god are you serious.” Nighthawk asked the small bird, “Where is he?”
Hope chirped again. Belle looked at the both of them strangely.
“She’s talking to the bird.” Belle remarked
“What’s going on Pen?” Rebecca asked
Nighthawk looked at the two of them seriously
“You two up for a walk?” she asked

Benny walked casually through the streets of Raleighfield. The Hellmouth was giving him a buzz that he hadn’t felt in a long time and the green lizard like demon enjoyed every moment. He saw a food stand and decided to investigate. The vendor looked up at him and smirked as the demon leaned casually at the window.
“Nice costume,” the vendor said, “is there a party or something?”
“Something like that. What ya got here?”
Benny scanned them menu. As he did there was a whizzing sound followed by a light wooden thud.
“What was that?” the vendor asked
Benny didn’t reply. The look of surprise shock made the vendor curious.
“Jeez you alright pal?”
Benny turned his head slowly. Embedded in the wall, a few inches above his hand, was an arrow.
“Hello Benny.” A familiar female voice said from behind him.
Benny turned around to see Nighthawk glaring at him. Flanking her were two other women he didn’t recognize. He smiled awkwardly at her
“Nighthawk,” he said nervously, “What are you doing here in Raleighfield?”
“You first.” Nighthawk replied
“Ah, well, I needed a break from Phoenix. I heard about this nice little juiced up Hellmouth so I decided to come here on vacation.”
“I don’t think he’s telling you the truth Nighthawk.” Rebecca said seriously
“No I don’t think he is,” Nighthawk retorted, “Tell me Benny what’s The Chamber doing in Raleighfield.”
“What . . . What makes you think I’m working for the chamber.”
Nighthawk shot him a look.
“Alright maybe I am, but honestly, what makes you think Rorgia would come anywhere near this place?”
“Are all the demons this stupid where you come from?” Belle asked
Benny glared at Rebecca and Belle
“Who are these two?” Benny asked in an annoyed tone, “Usually you shake me down alone.”
“God, I am so rude,” Nighthawk replied sarcastically gesturing to her right, “This is Belle, the slayer, and I think you’ve heard of my sister-in-law . . .”
Nighthawk leaned in menacingly.
“ . . .the Trinity Killer.”
Benny looked at Rebecca in shock.
“That’s the Trinity Killer?” he asked
“Yep, she has a real small amount of patience to so why don’t you tell me what I want to know before she gets mad.”
Benny looked over to Rebecca again who was tossing an energy ball up and down in her hand. If Benny were human he would be sweating by now. Without another word Benny turned and bolted. Nighthawk shook her head.
“One day he’s gonna learn that running just makes me hit him harder when I catch him.” She joked
“He doesn’t seem like the fast learning type.” Belle commented
Just then Rebecca’s cell began to ring. She pulled it out of her pocket and answered it.
“Rebecca.” Nigel said painfully
“Nigel? What’s wrong?”
“We have a . . . bit of a problem”
Rebecca looked over to Belle then to Nighthawk.
“We gotta go.” Rebecca said
“it’s okay I’ve dealt with Benny before it’s a snap.” Nighthawk replied
Rebecca nodded and turned to leave. A moment later she turned back to Nighthawk.
“Oh that reminds me . . .”
Rebecca raised her arm and a portal opened in the sky near Nighthawk. Benny dropped out with a surprised look on his face.
“ . . . I figured he’s run so I thought making a plan B might help.”
“Hey thanks,” Nighthawk replied playfully as she dragged Benny back up onto his feet and slammed him into a wall, “Saved so much time.”
Nighthawk turned and glared at the demon menacingly.
“Why are they here Benny?” Nighthawk asked
“I don’t know wha . . .”
Nighthawk punched him in the stomach. Benny doubled over in pain.
“What are they doing here?”
“God! I don’t know!”
“Getting bored here Ben.” Nighthawk replied as she raised her fist
“Alright! Alright! They came for that disk thing. You know the one you stole from them.”
“Do they know what it is?”
“Does it matter? Rorgia felt power that’s all the info he wanted.”
“Where are they now?”
“I’m not sure.”
Nighthawk drew her sword and extended the blade.
“Okay! They’re in a warehouse near the border.”
Nighthawk smiled at him as she threw the demon down violently.
“Thanks,” she replied, “enjoy your meal.”
Nighthawk turned and started to walk away. Benny looked up painfully and smiled at her.
“I’d hurry up if I were you or else brother dearest might get hurt.”
Nighthawk turned around sharply. A look of intense anger coming from her masked eyes.
“What are you talking about?”
“Didn’t you know?” Benny replied smugly, “Rorgia gonna hurt sweet Alex if you don’t deliver by midnight.”
Nighthawk checked her watch. It was already quarter past ten. Not having time to beat up Benny further she turned and started to run. As she did she pulled out her cell and dialed.
“Brett, get the others and meet me at the high school library don’t have time to explain.”
~ Raleighfield High School, Raleighfield California – 10 minutes later ~
“All Pen said was to meet her in the Library,” Brett said as they walked up the path
“No explanation?” Megan replied
“Which means something is going to happen in the next few hours.” The Wanderer replied
“Sounds like.” Brett replied
They opened the door to the school and walked in. they stopped dead in their tracks when they saw Heidi standing in the doorway. She looked at the three of them seriously.
“I-I need your help.” She said seriously.

Alex woke up sharply as someone hit him across the face. He looked around his surrounds and quickly realized he was kidnapped. He tested the rope tied around his hands but the knots were tied to tightly.
“Ah, Alex, you’re awake,” Rorgia said amused, “I hope you are reasonably uncomfortable.”
“You know They’re going to find me.” Alex snapped at the crimson demon
“Of course I do that’s why I instructed Benny to tell your slayer sister where we are.”
Alex looked at him confused.
“Why would you do that?”
“Now, now Mr. Whitfield that would be telling,” Rorgia replied as he walked up to Alex and leaned over her, “sufficed to say both you and her will not survive the night unless your sister as the common curtsey to return what she stole from me.”
“What are you planning on doing to us?”
Rorgia smiled at him.
“Unpleasant things, Alex, Unpleasant Things.”
