Dawn and Giles are sprawled on various comfy armchairs reading thick textbooks.
Dawn: Ew!
Giles: Ew?
Dawn: trust me you don’t want to know…
Giles: Well that could be any number of demons.
Dawn: Why does the Gothicizes demon digest it’s own head?
Buffy enters.
Buffy: Bad hair day? Watcha guys doin?
Dawn: Looking up prophecies that concern slayers, apocalypses or large giant snot creatures.
Buffy: Should I be worried? Or is the honor of a horrible, mucusy death gonna be given to Faith… or Kennedy… or… (Frowns) somehow I am suddenly less then worried.
Giles: We don’t know for certain there are any, but given the recent increase of Slayer numbers we feel it is better to be safe then sorry.
Buffy: What ever… Are Faith and me up for patrol tonight?
Giles: I believe Faith was planning to take Kennedy.
Buffy: (pretends to sulk) Ditched for a rookie.
Knock on door
Buffy: I’ll get it.
Disappears off screen.
Dawn: Buffy seems a little
Giles: Restless lately? Yes she does actually.
They hear a gasp coming from the front door. Giles and Dawn rush forward to see a very sheepish Spike and Angel standing in the doorway and a shocked looking Buffy.
Buffy: Sp… Spike?!
BLACK OUT
Spike, Buffy, Dawn, Giles and Angel are all standing together awkwardly. Buffy runs a hand through her hair.
Buffy: Sp… Spike?
Dawn: (Narrows her eyes) Spike? Is that you? (runs forward and throws her arms around him)
Spike: (Smiles Softly) Heya Lil’ bit
Giles: (notices Angel) Hello Angel.
Angel: (Smiles sheepishly) Hi Giles,
Buffy: (still looks shocked) A… Angel?
Dawn: (looks worried) Maybe Buffy should sit down.
Angel: yeah, this might be a lot to take in.
Dawn: (rolls her eyes) No just her dead undead ex-boyfriend turning up…
Giles: A little bit less dead.
Buffy: (shakes her head) Angel what the hell are you doing here?
Angel begins to speak but Buffy cuts him off and turns to Spike.
Buffy: And you? Where the hell have you been?
Spike: Well… um… Hell.
Buffy: Oh! (shuts up)
Spike: Yeah Hell… for a little while, and then I bumped into my old buddy Angel here, and I kinda helped him out a little.
Giles: How long exactly have you been semi – mortal?
Spike: (looks nervous) Maybe… A year?
Dawn and Buffy: A YEAR!
Dawn and Giles look shocked. Buffy gives Spike a look of hurt and disgust.
Buffy: thanks for letting me know.
Buffy leaves.
Spike: Buff…
Spike looks a Dawn for sympathy but she just shakes her head.
Angel: Maybe it’s for the best if Spike and I give her a little space while she… ar… adjusts to the idea.
Spike glares at him and leaves. Angel frowns and follows.
FADE OUT
Kennedy, Willow, Faith, Dawn, Xander and Giles are sitting around the Living room. Dawn is browsing another large volume in a rather agitated fashion. The rest are discussing Spike and Angel’s arrival.
Willow So they just show up? All there and um…
Xander: Not dead
Willow: Yeah I mean I’m kinda getting my head around that one too.
Faith: Well technically you know…
Kennedy: Who’s Angel?
Xander: Buffy’s ex, big, bad and broody.
Angel enters discreetly
Xander: Runs a P.I in L.A, a real pain in the….
Angel: Hey Xander!
Xander: Angel! Buddy Ol’ Pal!
Willow: Angel! Wow you really haven’t got any… louder. Have you?
Angel: Hi Willow.
Faith: Angel gee way to make an entrance.
Angel: Yeah I guess it was a little dramatic, you know with the whole ex’s recarnated ex…
Dawn: Oh!
Willow: Dawnie?
Dawn; Oh!
Giles: Dawn? Have you find a prophecy concerning a slayer?
Dawn: (whispers) Angel I think you’d better get Buffy…
Giles: (serious) Dawn what does the prophecy say?
Dawn: …and you better get Spike too.
Willow: (scared) Giles?
Dawn: and then… then I guess you better read this.
Angel: Dawn? What’s in the prophecy?
Giles grabs the book from Dawns limp hands and reads. Suddenly his face goes deadpan.
Giles: Angel… Please do what she says.
