Spike and Lena walked out of the park together. “ So what’s your story love?” “ I told you. I’ve been a slayer two years but I’ve only been fighting for one.” “ Besides that love.” “ There’s nothing to tell. Really.” “ Come on love there’s gotta be something. What do you do besides slaying? What’s you life like love?” She thought about the cutting. That was the only thing she enjoyed besides slaying but she definitely couldn’t tell him about that.
“ Come on love you haveta do something.” he pressed. “ Well, I’m a student at FSU.” “ FSU?” “Florida State University. When I’m not in class I’m either doing homework or training.” “Right. Not much of a life you’ve got there love.” Lena shot him a dirty look. “ Really? And what the hell kind of a life does a vampire with a soul have? Certainly not one better than mine ” She spat. “ Come on love I didn’t mean it that way I just meant that it seems like you don’t have much of a social life.” “ I don’t have time for that I have to keep my grades up to stay at school, and slaying takes up the rest of my time.” Come on now. That really all you do?” She nodded her head.
“ I find that hard to believe. A girl as pretty as you has to have the guys lining up for dates or have a serious boyfriend.” “ Sorry I don’t.” “ Why not?” “ Because I just don’t ok. And what business is it of yours anyway? We just met for god sakes ” She stopped and looked up at the building in front of them. “ This is my dorm. Thanks oh so much for saving my life ” She spat and stormed upstairs.
Spike watched her go with a smirk on his face. He liked this girl already. She had spunk and she was one hell of a fighter. But he saw the pain in her eyes when he was asking her about her life. Something was haunting her and he was determined to find out what.
