FREIGHTER DE SOTO
EARTH ORBIT
Faith wakes up in her quarters and walks towards the bridge. The frieghter's temporary captain, Kassidy Yates, greets her on the bridge.
KASSIDY-
"Coffee?"
FAITH-
"Sure." Kassidy hands her a cup of steaming coffee. She then motions Faith to sit down.
KASSIDY-
"Ben filled me in on what is going on with this Sloan character. How will you find him?"
FAITH-
"I don't know. First, I'll try Starfleet headquarters in San Francisco and then the Federation capital in Paris. I have a feeling he'll find me first."
KASSIDY-
"Probably." A computer beeps next to her. "Looks like we're in position." Faith gets up and walks over to the transporter pad. "Ready?"
FAITH-
"Energize." Faith disappears into the beam, but something didn't feel right. The last thing she saw was Kassidy trying to work the console with a worried look on her face. Faith re-appears in an alleyway.
She walks out of the alleyway and looks up at a full Earth hanging in the sky. She was on Luna, not Earth. She looks into a small cafe and sees Sloan sitting at the rear booth. She walks over to the booth and sits down.
FAITH-
"Okay, Sloan. What happened?"
SLOAN-
"One of my operatives interrupted your transport beam and brought you here. In case you have any illusions of contacting anymore, your combadge was beamed into space." Faith looks down, her combadge was gone.
FAITH-
"My friends know that I'm meeting you."
SLOAN-
"Right now Captain Giles is receiving a report that you were killed in a transporting accident. Don't worry, you'll get the full military burial in space."
FAITH-
"So....doesn't look like I have a choice."
SLOAN-
"You don't. The Federation needs you to neautralize a certain person." He slids a pad over to her and she looks at the picture. "You know him?"
FAITH-
"Spike?" Sloan just nods his head. "I don't get it. Since the war started the Marquis are fighting the Domanian with us. Why kill him?"
SLOAN-
"Let me explain this to you. You don't ask questions, just carry out your assignment."
FAITH-
"Or what?"
SLOAN-
"Commander Lehane is dead remember. I could make that certain piece of fiction a reality." Sloan motions to a man sitting next to them. Faith looks down and sees that he is holding a phaser under the table. "The phaser is set on maxium."
USS SUNNYDALE
EN ROUTE TO WOLF 359
Giles stares at the report. He can't believe that Faith is gone. He hands the pad over to Buffy.
GILES-
"A damn transporter accident."
BUFFY-
"I don't know....it doesn't add up. She just happened to be killed in a transporter accident when he was meeting Sloan."
GILES-
"A false report?"
BUFFY-
"Could be." Giles taps his combadge.
GILES-
"Dawn, set a course for Earth. Maxium warp."
