DEEP SPACE NINE
IN ORBIT OVER BAJOR
The inner hatch rolls open and the gang step onto the Prominade. Dozens of different species walk through the area, talking and shopping. Before anyone can walk off, Anya steps in front of them.
ANYA-
"Hold it!! Everyone knows the time and place? 1300 hrs. in Holosuite...."
XANDER-
"...4...."
ANYA-
"Holosuite 4." Everyone nods in agreement. "Okay."
GILES-
"Now, that's out of the way. Liberty call."
As they others walked off to find their guest quarters, Giles took the turbolift to Ops. Normally, the station commander would welcome a visiting starship, but with the war on...Captain Sisko was very busy. Sisko and Klingon General Martok had just retaken DS9 from the Domanian. Giles steps of the turbolift onto the operation center deck. A very beautiful woman walks up to him.
WOMAN-
"Hello Rupert."
GILES-
"I'm sorry, Commander. Do we know each other?"
WOMAN-
"Rupert! It's me....Dax."
GILES-
"Dax? You look....good." Dax just smiled and laughed. Giles knew her as a sixty year old man named Curzon Dax, but since then Curzon had died and the Dax symbinot had been transferred to Jadzia. "How have you been?"
DAX-
"I've been good. So, how's what hot tempered young Ensign....Betty?"
GILES-
"Buffy....Commander Buffy Summers, my first officer."
DAX-
"Oh....I guess, she's doing okay. Benjamin's in there." Dax points in an office on the second level. Giles walks up the stairs and the doors slide open. Inside the small office was Sisko, Picard, Angel, Admiral Ross, and General Martok. Except for Martok, everyone shakes hands. Martok hands Giles a cup of Klingon Blood Wine. Giles takes a drink, and his head starts spinning.
ROSS-
"Gentlemen, if you will have a seat. The Battle of Verdan IV was the only victory we have had since DS9 was retaken. I have Chief O'Brien's repair crews working 26 hours a day, Enterprise should be ready to tomorrow, but Los Angeles and Sunnydale might be a couple of days. Dismissed." After the meeting, Angel joins up with Giles.
ANGEL-
"This everyone okay?"
GILES-
"Yes, no worse for the wear. How about you?"
ANGEL-
"Gunn got a broken arm, but he'll be okay. How's Connor? Is he fitting in?"
GILES-
"No...he stays in his quarters when he's not on duty. In fact, that's where he is now. Probably stay there the whole time."
ANGEL-
"I should talk to him."
GILES-
"Yes, you should."
Buffy snipped her mocha while reading the repair reports in Quark's Bar. Faith walks up to her and sits down next to her. Buffy signs off on the work order and sets down the pad.
FAITH-
"You need a break."
BUFFY-
"How can you tell?"
FAITH-
"I can tell. Hey, you took the job not me."
BUFFY-
"I didn't know there was going to be a war on. Nobody tells me anything." Faith just laughs. Her laughing stops when she looks up at the balcony and sees a man wearing all black looking at her. She looks down for a moment and then looks back up. The man is gone.
FAITH-
"Do you see that?"
BUFFY-
"What?"
FAITH-
"Uh...nothing." Whoever that was, it made Faith very uneasy.
