USS SUNNYDALE
The ship streaks through space, dodging the blue phaser beams been fired from the Jem'Herar ships and burning debris of other Starfleet vessels. The ships phasers and photon torpodoes fire in return. On the bridge, Giles rubs his eyes, which are stinging from the smoke in the air. A small fire had broken out on the bridge, but the energy force fields snuffed it out.
BUFFY-
"Dawn, defensive pattern Alpha Seven."
XANDER-
"Shields at sixty percent. We're still doing good."
GILES-
"Target the Domanian flagship." Faith watches the nervous Ensign Connor as his hands danced over the control, locking targets and firing.
WILLOW-
"Enterprise and Defiant are joining us. Domanian flagstafff, dead ahead."
GILES-
"Connor...lock all weapons onto their primary shields. Fire." All the ships weapons fire, joining the Enterprise and Defiant. Suddenly, the large flagship explodes and the Jem'Herar ships retreat.
WILLOW-
"Giles, Admiral Ross is ordering us to hold our position."
GILES-
"Very well....Dawn takes us the rear of the fleet. Signal the Bozeman to take our position. I'm be in my Ready Room. Buffy, you have the bridge."
BUFFY-
"You got it."
Once in his ready room, Giles goes over to the food repiclator and orders a cup of hot tea. He sits down, and looks at his computer screen. The door chimes.
GILES-
"Come in." Tara walks in and sits down.
TARA-
"You okay?"
GILES-
"I could ask you the same thing."
TARA-
"I..I wasn't expecting combat to be like that. We lost fifteen ships.....over 600 people. Twenty on the Sunnydale."
GILES-
"It's never like you expected, Tara. You'll feel better once we get back to DS9."
TARA-
"That's right....the wedding."
GILES-
"Sometimes during war. It's good to have things to look forward too."
TARA-
"Like the holosuite program of a nice rolling hillside?"
GILES-
"Sounds like you and Willow have plans." Tara responded with only a smile.
