The boys sat in the lobby, Connor and Lorne had joined them, waiting for news on what had gone on
with Buffy.
After 15 minutes, Cordy and Fred came down the stairs looking serious and upset.
There was an awkward silence.
Spike spoke up, "What the bleeding hell wrong with her?"
Cordy opened a file she had in her hands and placed it on the table in the middle of all the chairs.
It contained x-rays of a brain.
"Is that...?" Gunn asked
Cordy nodded "Buffy has a brain tumor. It's very serious. According to the doctors notes she has 3
months to live"
"But surely they can operate?" Wesley whispered
"No, it's too late for any possible treatment" Cordy spread out all the pieces of paper.
Angel stood up and ran his hand though his hair.
"But she has slayer strength, she heals better, so she'll be ok, right?" He asked
Fred spoke from the corner by the computer "I've researched that. Unforcanatly, because she's
a slayer she has less chance of surviving this than a normal person-"
She was interrupted by a scream from the 1st floor.
"That's Buffy" Gunn yelled
Everyone ran up the stairs and into her room. Buffy was on the floor having an attack.
Her body writhed as she screamed with pain. Spike and Angel ran and picked her up and
pinned her to the bed.
"Fred!" Angel shouted "Get the tranq gun"
Fred looked shocked "I don't know if she could take it. The only stuff that we have is for really strong
demons. It could put her in a coma"
Spike yelled with his teeth clenched "Fred, she's bloody strong. I can't hold her much longer"
Fred ran out of the room. Gunn, Connor and Wes stood by Angel and Spike and helped to hold her
down.
Buffy screamed with pain again. The fit was getting stronger and more painful for her.
Tears streamed down her cheeks and all over her face. Gunn looked up and saw both Angel and Spike
with tears building up in their eyes. Fred ran to the end of the bed and took aim with the gun.
She gulped and pulled the lever. Buffy jerked again and slowly got weaker and weaker, and eventually
stopped and lay still. Her face stained with tears. Her hair spread messily over the pillow.

Later Spike and Connor sat down in the lobby.
"So..." Connor started "I take it there is more to your relationship with Buffy than your letting on"
Spike didn't move. He was leaning forward on his chair with his head in his hands.
"Yeah"
"You wanna talk about it?"
"Not really" Spike sighed "God, I can't believe she has 3 months to live. She's the strongest person I
know"
"Yeah, me too" said Angel as he walked in sat in between his son and his grand-sire.
"Does anyone else feel weird?"
"Yeah, me" Connor replied "My girl-friends in a coma and her sister has a deadly brain tumor"
Angel shook his head "No, I mean actually feel different. Like inside"
They both shook there heads.
Connor sighed
"Shhh!" Spike looked around and listened "Do you hear that?"
Suddenly a ball of bright light smashed though the window and headed for Angel. It flew into his
chest and went inside him. Angel was thrown backwards by the force.
"Dad!" Connor jumped up and ran to him and put out his hand.
He looked up from the heap he had landed in, in the corner and pushed away Connor's hand.
"I'm ok. I'm better than ok. I feel so free" He grinned at Spike.
Spike squinted his eyes and shook his head "No..." he whispered
"Yes" he laughed and then ran toward the door and dived though the glass. Spike and Connor stared
at the glass that was in the door.
Connor gulped "Was that...?"
"I think so..."
