“. . . Lea Gray?” a male voice called out from behind

Lea turned and saw the two men looking at her very seriously. There was a familiar look to both of them which she didn’t like.

“Yeah?” she asked cautiously

Bruce took two steps forward.

“By the authority of the Watchers Council of England you are here by ordered to return with us for reassessment and reintegration.”

The cheerleaders looked at each other confused. They had no idea what was going on. Lea, on the other hand, knew perfectly well was going on. Forgetting her cover completely Lea dropped her pom-poms turned and ran. Bruce smiled to himself.

“Oh I love this bit.” He said as he drew his gun

The cheerleaders scattered as the first shot was fired. Lea flipped over a small wall as the bullets ricochet. She sat there for a moment looking around wildly trying to work out her next move. From the doorway to the main building Nikki watched as Bruce and Gavin moved in on Lea.

“Damn it!” she exclaimed before heading back inside

Back in the English Lakisha checked the clock again. Katie was taking a long time in Principal Crawford’s office and she hoped nothing was wrong. From the hallway windows she heard a light knocking. Lakisha looked over to see Nikki staring at her anxiously. Lakisha shrugged curiously. Nikki slapped the note she got from her locker on the window. Lakisha read it in shock and mouthed the word ‘seriously?’ Nikki nodded. Lakisha quickly gathered her stuff and stormed out of the class before the teacher had a time to comment.

Nikki and Lakisha moved around the corner of the hallway then Lakisha stared at her.

“How the hell did they find us?” Lakisha asked

“I don’t know,” Nikki replied stressfully, “We don’t have time to think about it now and enforcer is after Lea . . . Wait where’s Katie?”

“Called to Principal Crawford’s office don’t know why.”

“For this long?”

Lakisha and Nikki looked at each other as reality set in.

“Oh no.” Nikki replied

“Son of a bitch!” Lakisha exclaimed

Nikki rand her hands through her hair. She took a deep breath as she tried to work out what to do.

“Alright Lea’s gonna need back up go after her I’ll see what happened to Katie.” She ordered

“You sure it’s a great idea to split up right now?”

“I don’t think we have a choice,” Nikki replied, “the sooner we find the both of them the sooner we can get out of town.”

Lakisha nodded before they both went their separate ways.

In the Library Nolan sat at one of the tables. He was surrounded by books as he pretended to study as belle stormed into the Library angrily.

“Okay what the hell Nolan?” Belle demanded, “Why did you want to see me?”

Nolan looked up at her strangely

“What?” he asked

Belle threw down the letter she had in her pocket.

“I got this note saying you wanted to see me.”

“I didn’t write you a note.”

Belle folded her arms.

“This is not funny Nolan I’m in the middle of class.”

“Seriously I didn’t write you anything.”

Belle looked at the note curiously.

“Then who the hell wrote this?”

Just then a gunshot rung out. Belle and Nolan looked out the window to see Lea bolt past at lightning speed. The siblings dropped as a second shot shattered one of the library windows. Belle looked up in time to see two men chase after Lea. She dropped down and looked at Nolan seriously.

“Go tell Nigel what’s happening I’ll go after Lea.” She ordered

“Whoa, Whoa, Whoa,” Nolan replied nervously, “last time I check you weren’t bulletproof.”

“Still I have a better chance of helping her then you do.”

Belle turned to leave. Nolan grabbed her arm.

“Don’t die okay Dad will kill me.”

Belle smiled at her brother.

“I’ll try not to.”

Nikki rushed over to the principal’s office. She stopped dead in her tracks as she saw the police officers milling around the entrance. Normally she would have waited until the police have left but because of the urgent situation she was forced to move in. inside Sgt. Peter Galloway was interviewing Principal Crawford about the kidnapping.

“Can you identify the man who took Miss Watson?” he asked as another officer took notes

“Tall, kind of muscular, and he had a foreign accent it sounded kind of English but I don’t think that’s right.” Principal Crawford replied anxiously

“Anything else?”

“Yes he said something about the watchers council.”

Sgt Galloway thought about this. He turned to one of other officers

“Check into local cult activity this sounds like a ritual kidnapping.”

Sgt. Galloway turned back to Principal Crawford

“We’ll look into this immediately and inform you if there’s any . . .”

Suddenly there was a loud scuffling sound coming from outside. The door burst open and a police officer few in slamming into the back wall. Nikki walked in. the officer near the door stepped in front of her.

“Excuse me miss this is a crime scene.”

Nikki swung out with a left hook knocking the officer out. She stormed up to Principal Crawford.

“Do you know where Katie went?” she asked anxiously

Principal Crawford looked at Nikki curiously.

“Should you be in class?” he asked

Nikki leaned in.

“Do you know where Katie went?”

“Arrest her for interfering with an investigation and assault against an officer.” Sgt Galloway ordered

“Do that later,” Nikki snapped at Peter before returning her attention to Principal Crawford, “This is very important Principal Crawford I need to know where Katie is.”

“She was taken,” Principal Crawford replied, “An armed man came into my office and ordered me to call her in.”

“Did you see where they went?”

“No I called the police straight away.”

Nikki slammed her fist on the desk in frustration. This was getting her nowhere and it was obvious who took her. Nikki turned to leave but was confronted by two officers. She folded her arms and looked at both of them.

“Do you really think you can take me?” she asked

The officers looked at the unconscious men in the room then at each other. They stepped aside letting Nikki past. She hated to admit this to herself but she could only think of one person who could help them.

Lea sprinted down the side of the building. She had to get away from the enforcer and try to find the others. Another shot rang out narrowly missing her head. She turned sharply and ran down what she though was a clear path unfortunately it turned out to be a dead end. Lea swung around wildly as Bruce and Gavin walked up slowly.

“What did I tell ya mate just like herding sheep?” Bruce replied

Lea backed up against the wall. Just as Gavin raised his tranquilizer gun.

“Just stand still girly this wont hurt a bit,” Gavin replied,” well, it won’t hurt us.”

From out of nowhere Belle kicked the rifle out of Gavin’s hand. She followed through with a round house kick to the head. Bruce was about to move in but he was struck from the side by Lakisha. The both of them fell down hard. Bruce looked up at them.

“Nice work ladies it’s not often I’m caught of guard.” he said

“You hurt Lea I’m gonna do a lot more then get you off guard.” Lakisha snapped

“Same.” Belle continued

Bruce and Gavin looked at each other. The spun around sharply knocking both the girls off their feet. Before either Belle or Lakisha could get to their feet both enforcers were up and hand guns trained on them.

“I said off guard not unprepared,” Bruce replied, “Take the cheerleader and the black one. I’ll give Nigel his pet back.”

Lea looked at Belle curiously as they were both dragged to their feet.

“Why don’t you want Belle?” Lea asked curiously

Bruce looked at lea curiously

“Don’t you know? She’s the slayer.”

“So am I.”

“Wrong. You’re a Slayer. She’s the Slayer the good ol’ fashion chosen one.”

This didn’t make sense. There’s hasn’t been slayer activation since the battle how come they think Belle is the chose one? Bruce dragged Belle too her feet. He sneered at her.

“Don’t feel bad all council enforcers have trained against slayers. Think I could take out two or three at a time if I had to.”

“Really?” said a different female voice.

Bruce swung around to see Rebecca standing between him and Lea. She had her arms folded and was glaring angrily at him. Beside her Nikki stood just as seriously.

“How about me?” Rebecca continued

“This is council business Divine One don’t interfere.” Bruce snapped

“I don’t know about the council,” Rebecca replied, “but you’re attempting to remove three students from the school grounds with out their parent’s permission that’s my business. Let the slayers go.”

Bruce swung his gun around and aimed it at Rebecca head.

“I’m warning you!” he snapped

“So am I.” Rebecca replied

Bruce had had enough and pulled the trigger. The gun went off. A look of shock crossed everybody’s face as they saw the bullet hovering in mid air two inches from Rebecca’s head.

“Don’t insult me like that,” Rebecca replied forcefully, “Now, you’re going to leave these slayers alone and return their missing friend or I will show you what the full power of the divine can do.”

“Nobody move!” they all heard from behind them

They all turned around to see Sergeant Peter Galloway and the other officers aiming guns at them. Bruce smiled at Rebecca.

“God I love the police in this country.” He said smugly.

He grabbed Belle roughly and forced her in front of him. He turned and faced the officers placing the barrel of his gun against the side of her head. Peter’s face dropped. He lowered his gun slowly.

“This is how this is going to work copper,” Bruce said, “you all are gonna be nice little boys and clear a path for me and my friend.”

“Do what he says,” Peter ordered to the other officers, “I don’t want to risk him hurting my daughter.”

Bruce looked at Peter and Belle curiously.

“Now that I didn’t expect,” Bruce replied, “guess you’re gonna have to be extra nice to me or else daddy’s little girl’s brain matter will be splattered on the wall.”

The officers parted and Bruce and Gavin walked through them confidently. Rebecca frowned angrily at them and formed an energy ball in her hand.

“That goes double for you Divine One” Bruce yelled back

Rebecca unformed the ball and watched them leave. This situation was going down hill fast. Slowly she turned and faced the three girls and folded her arms.

“I’m gonna take a wild guess and say that you’re slayers.” she commented

Back in the library Nigel looked pensive as Rebecca laid down the bad news.

“I can’t believe Rodger would stoop to this,” he said angrily, “He knows perfectly well Belle is needed here.”

“So what’s going to happen to my sister?” Nolan asked

“Most likely nothing my guess it that the enforcer only used her to make their escape I don’t think he has any intention of hurting either slayer.”

Lea laughed.

“Where the hell have you been watcher?” she snapped, “Rodger Stone does nothing but hurt slayers.”

“What do you mean?” Rebecca asked

“Oh like you don’t know.”

Rebecca looked at Lea seriously.

“Excuse me?”

Lea stood up from the other two and walked straight up to Rebecca. She matched her stare for stare as she folded her arms.

“You heard me.” Lea snapped

Rebecca didn’t need to read Lea’s expression she could feel the hostility radiating off her and her friends.

“Is there some kind of problem you’d like to share with the rest of the class?”

“It’s your fault!” Nikki retorted, “All of it! If you hadn’t have gone after The Trinity then we wouldn’t be running for our lives from the council.”

“Hold up a second,” Nolan said as he jumped in between both groups, “I don’t get this I thought the council were the good guys.”

“They were kid,” Lakisha replied, “That was before Rodger took over.”

“I don’t understand.”

“It’s simple,” Lakisha said as she and Nikki flanked Lea, “after Miss Energizer here killed the senior partners and most of us were killed in the battle Rodger had this brainwave tellin’ him the slayers weren’t good enough.”

Nigel looked at her curiously. All of this was news to him.

“What do you mean by ‘no good enough’?”

“We never got specifics just a lot of rumors about how he was working on the slayers brought back.”

“No slayers have returned back to the council I would have been informed.”

“Really?” lea asked, “You know that for a fact or is that what they told you?”

Nigel was going to reply but what she said echoed some of his own feeling about the council of late.

“Open you eyes Watcher. Rodger has nothing but trouble since he took over,” Lea continued, “haven’t you ever wondered what reassessment and reintegration meant?”

Rebecca raised her hands to stop the conversation.

“Alright enough this is getting us nowhere,” she retorted, “Our priority is to find Belle and Katie.”

“We don’t need your help.” Lea replied

“This isn’t the time to . . .”

“Well do it ourselves!” lea continued, “We don’t need you killing any more slayers.”

Rebecca slapped her. Lea look at her stunned

“You ungrateful bitch,” she yelled, “You think you’re the only one who lost people in that battle? I lost my aunt! I lost my friends! I lost Shona and Penny! Don’t give me the wounded animal crap because I’m not buying it!”

Lea was about to reply when Rebecca suddenly doubled over. She slammed against a set of cabinets hard as waves of pain shot through her body. Nigel rushed over to aid her but Rebecca brushed him off.

“I’m fine.” she said as she climbed slowly back onto her feet.

“What’s happening to her?” Lea asked curiously

Nigel shot her a look.

“Wolfram and Hart are killing her,” he snapped, “now unless you think you have a bigger problem at the moment I suggest we listen to what she has to say!”

Rebecca finally made it back onto her feet but still had to lean against the cabinet. When the pain subsided she felt something under her hand. Rebecca looked over to see an envelope with her name on it. Curiously she opened it and read the note inside.

“Oh my god,” she exclaimed, “I know where they are.”

~ The Council of Watchers, Essex England – 1 hour later ~

“So you only got one of the slayers?” Rodger asked, “I sent you for four you only got one.”

“Don’t worry sir me and Gav can nab the rest during the . . .”

Suddenly there was a loud explosion followed by the sounds of scuffling.

“Bruce? Hello?” Rodger asked

Suddenly the line went dead. Rodger put down the receiver slowly. Just as he did a portal opened up at the other side of his office. Bruce and Gavin were tossed through and violently hit the bookshelf. A few moments later Rebecca stepped through and glared at Rodger.

“Found something you lost,” she said angrily at him

Rodger leaned back in his chair. He had only heard about Rebecca but never met her.

“So you must be the Divine One.” he said confidently

“Small talk over,” Rebecca replied, “Where are the other slayers?”

Rodger pretended to think.

“Belle should be in Raleighfield and you’re here anything else I can help you with?”

Rebecca frowned at him angrily. She walked up and leaned menacingly on his desk.

“Don’t even think about toying with me Rodger. What have you done with the slayer who returned to the council?”

“Rebecca, I don’t know where you’re getting your information from but no other slayer has returned.”

Rebecca stood silently for a moment and tried to read him. It was obvious that he was trying to hide something but it wasn’t clear what.

“Then let’s get something straight between us,” Rebecca snarled leaning in closer to, “As long as I’m around you’re not getting your hands on another slayer.”

“Noted.” Rodger replied calmly

Rebecca stood up and walked towards the portal.

“How long is that exactly? Two, maybe three, months? I’m guessing the virus should be taking effect by now.”

Rebecca didn’t listen she stepped back through the portal and it sealed behind her. Rodger sat quietly for a moment. The Divine One was becoming too much of a liability and pretty soon she was going to have to be dealt with. He stood up from his chair and walked out of the room. It took him a few good minutes before he reached the research chamber hidden within the council buildings. Walking inside he was met with the familiar view of two rows of five upright steel slabs each with a slayer attached standing motionless with a vacant stare, In the middle of the room Professor Tillman was working on one of the girls. He looked over to Rodger

“Ah Rodger come to check on the progress?”

“Yes I have.” Rodger replied

“I happy to report I should have their personalities complexly stripped away within the next few weeks.”

“Very good,” Rodger said as he examined the slayer in front of him, “So they will remember nothing of their former life?”

Professor Tillman smiled at the Head Watcher.

“All they’re remember is the calling. The perfect sentinel slayer.”

“Just as it should be.” Rodger replied brushing the hair away from the vacant girl’s eyes

Just then Rodgers cell rang. He picked it up and answered it.

“What is it?” he snapped

“This is Neighborhood Watch,” the priest said on the other end of the line, “you know that slayer who’s supposed to be dead? . . “

“So you’re convinced Rodger has the slayers.”

Rebecca looked down at the note she received about.

“I didn’t need to look at him to know that,” Rebecca replied, “There’s something weird going on here.”

“How so?”

Rebecca handed Nigel the note.

“This note arrived exactly when we needed it.”

“Yes I suppose it did.”

“It’s more then that though, who ever left this, knew I was going to hit that cabinet and use it to balance myself.”

They looked at the note again curiously before looking at each other.

“Have you seen Heidi at all today?” Rebecca asked

Heidi stepped into the library. As she saw Rebecca, Nigel, Belle and Nolan she gave them all a small smirk that didn’t go unnoticed. Heidi sat cross-legged on one of the tables and waited patiently. She already knew what this was about. Rebecca stood up and placed Nikki’s, Belle’s, and Rebecca’s letters on the table next to her.

“Did you write these?” Rebecca asked

Heidi giggles and nodded at her. This made Rebecca feel a little uncomfortable.

“What’s going on Heidi? Is something going to happen?”

“T-things are in motion,” Heidi said happily, “W-when she brings the key people will be alright.”

Rebecca looked over to Nigel who shrugged back at her. Rebecca knelt down to look Heidi in the eye.

“What key? And who’s going to bring it?”

Heidi covered her mouth when she giggled again.

“I-if I told you it wouldn’t be a surprise.”

Rebecca looked at the young psychic in concern. She turned back to the group who were just as befuddled. Rebecca shook of the feeling and walked over to Belle.

“We’ll worry about that later come on Belle it’s time for combat training.” She said

Belle took a couple of steps back from Rebecca. She had fear in her eyes that Rebecca had never seen before.

“I-I Nigel to train Me.” she said

Rebecca folded her arms.

“What brought this on?” she asked

“Lea said you hurt her,” Belle replied, “I don’t want that to happen to me.”

Suddenly the penny dropped. She should have asked Lea about that before she left with the others. Rebecca smiled at her.

“Sweetie I didn’t hurt Lea she was angry at me because of . . . something that happened.”

“What?” Belle asked

Nigel looked over to the Divine One seriously

“I think things would much easier to tell them what happened Rebecca.” he said

Rebecca nodded. This was something she had been thinking about for a while and now it was time to tell them.

“Sit down this is going to take a while.” Rebecca said, “This all started when I was Sixteen the first time.”

Nolan looked at her curiously

“Wait . . . the first time?” he asked

“Yeah. In the original time line.” Rebecca replied . . .

~ The Marsh household, Raleighfield California – 1 month later ~

Heidi finished writing the note. She put it in the envelope and wrote the name on it. Heidi then walked over and placed it in her packed backpack. The time was growing closer and she had to be ready. In the lounge Jennifer and Robert watched with interest as Heidi stepped out of her room, carrying a backpack full of clothes, and just stared at the front door. The parents looked at each other.

“Sweetie what are you doing?” Jennifer asked

“Waiting.” Heidi replied seriously

“For what?”

Heidi looked over to her mother

“They’re coming for me.”

This filled Jennifer with fear.

“Who’s coming honey?” she asked with concern

Both parents jumped when there was a knock at the front door. Heidi strode over confidently and opened it. Behind it stood Willow and Angel.

“I’m ready.” Heidi said as she looked at the both of them

Jennifer and Robert rushed to the door. Willow smiled at the both of them.

“Mr. and Mrs. Marsh,” she said sweetly, “My name is Willow. Can we borrow Heidi for a couple of days?”

“No you can’t.” Robert replied

Heidi turned to him.

“It’s okay dad, I’ll be fine, they need me to help them find someone,” Heidi said calmly, “They need me to find Nighthawk.”
