Niki, Xander, Buffy and Giles walked in the front door of Niki's house.
"See here you are home sweet . . . OK major weirdness happening here!" Buffy said when she saw Niki's hallway.
"Please tell me you guys ordered the couple of dozen roses that are sitting nicely in all those crystal vases. Tell me you guys ordered me roses and bought me vases and came into my house and put water and the roses in the vases!" Niki begged as she started to get hysterical with fear. "Xander, please" she begged looking deep into his eyes.
"Shhh, it's okay, it's all going to be okay." Once he'd calmed the now sobbing Niki down he turned to Buffy and asked, "I don't suppose either you or Willow would be able to have her stay at your houses. I doubt she's going to be okay if she stays here."
"Good idea Xander" Giles commented. "Perhaps if she could stay somewhere else until we figure out how Spike gained entry into her house."
Niki's fears that it was Spike who had sent her the flowers had been affirmed by the single card Buffy had found attached to the first vase.

"No problem Giles. I'll just tell mum that her parents are out of town, she won't mind. How about you two take her back to the car and I'll run upstairs and pack some clothes for her stay." Buffy, took a stake out of her boot and cautiously made her way upstairs, no reason not to be prepared for any other surprises that Spike might have. The trail of roses led all the way up to Niki's room where her floor and bed were covered in rose petals. * Sheesh, Spike must be a hell of a lot richer than we'd ever imagined. Only on the Hellmouth would hundreds of red roses be a sign that something bad is going to happen. * Buffy thought as she packed a suitcase of clothes for Niki.
That night everyone met in the library to discuss the 'the sadistic demon who cares enough to send red roses' as Cordelia so nicely put it, dilemma.
"Well Spike has obviously found a way to get himself invited into Niki's house. And you're sure you've never invited him in?" He questioned Niki.
"Giles. Firstly; there is no way I'd ever ask a blood-sucking demon into my house, especially not one who has a thing for killing people with railroad spikes. I may not always be thrilled with my life but I don't have some kind of sadistic death wish. And secondly; the only time I've ever actually met Spike was last night. I've kinda tried to avoid him the past hundred years." She added looking around the group.
"Niki, are you saying that the only time you've ever actually come face to face with your 'fiancé was the night you slit your wrist in front of him?!' Buffy asked in amazement.
"Yeah. Great way to start a relationship, huh."
"Just a second" Angel interrupted. "Niki, if you've never met him before how did he know to go to your house last night?"
"Um" Niki looked sheepishly around the group. "Well . . . Um . . . Well I kinda learnt how to send him messages telepathically, I mean I did have all that time on my hands and we are kinda joined by prophecy and that kinda made it a whole lot easier so I kinda just popped a 'come and meet me at my house at 7' message into his mind and he sent one back saying okay."
"You and Spike are telepathic!!" Shrieked Buffy.
"No, it's kinda weird, it's got a lot to do with the whole joined by the prophecy thing, we can only do it to each other. That's how I knew I could keep him away from Dru. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but I kinda wasn't too thrilled by it all myself."
"Okay, I think we can discuss the possibilities concerning this new information at a later date. Right now I think it would be best if we worked on making it impossible for Spike to enter her home. What do you suggest Angel?" The Watcher asked.
"I'd suggest an Isentraezian block. It's the strongest spell I know."
"Okay, Perhaps you and I should do that and the rest of you can go home and get some rest. Especially you." He said, looking at Niki. "You've had a great shock and some sleep will do you the world of good. Come and see me when you get to school tomorrow and I'll tell you if Angel and I managed to perform the spell satisfactorily."
