It was close to twelve o'clock by the time they reached Niki's house. The wide open front door did nothing to allay Xander's fears that Niki was not alright. He raced through the front door and straight up the stairs. He heard an angry growl as Angel obviously smelt what he was seeing. There in front of him was her blood stained carpet. * Oh God Niki. Why couldn't you have listened when we told you not to do this?! *
"Buffy, Willow, Cordelia, you stay downstairs! No buts! This isn't going to be nice" Angel commanded. Buffy, Willow and Cordelia meekly sat down in the living room, Oz stayed with them to make sure they were okay. Giles went into the kitchen to make some tea; from the sight on Xander's face when he'd turned from Niki's room the boy would need something to soothe him down. "Aurgh!" he choked out when he saw the state the kitchen was in. "Xander, Angel, I think the two of you might want to see this." He called. The sight that greeted Xander and Angel when they entered the kitchen was no nicer than the one in Niki's room. There was a bloody handprint on the phone and blood on the floor and kitchen bench.
All three men turned as they heard the scream from upstairs. "Buffy" Angel growled as he recognized the scream as Buffy's. He ran up the stairs to bring her back. He brought the sobbing Slayer back downstairs and sat her on the couch, leaving her with Willow, Cordelia and Oz, he headed back into the kitchen to get her some of the tea Giles was making. "It's my fault" the Slayer was sobbing, "I should never have let her do this."
"It's all right Buffy, we're gonna find Niki and make sure she's just fine." Willow comforted.
Angel walked into the kitchen to see Xander hanging up the phone, "She's at the hospital, I don't know what's wrong with her, but I'm going there now." Xander called as he headed back to the front door. Taking Xander's cue Giles and Angel ran after him, followed closely by Buffy and the remaining Slayerettes. "Xander slow down" Angel called. "How do you know that's where she is?"
"The phone," Xander answered. "I checked the last number called and got 911."
They all piled into Cordelia and Gile's cars. Xander jumped straight into Cordelia's car, not even cosidering the possible doom he might encounter due to Cordelia's driving. All he cared about was finding Niki.
