Willow jumped as Buffy's beeper went off. They'd been waiting outside Spike and Druscilla's hide out for almost 45 minutes, since around 6.20pm * I guess it's now or never * she thought as she gripped Oz's hand tighter. * Oh please let Niki be alright * her mind prayed as they headed off into the sewers.
There was a distinctive lack of vampire sentries left by the time the seven of them made their way into the main chamber. Things had gone fairly smoothly, well as smooth as could be considering they were fighting vampires. The good news was that Spike was nowhere to be seen. * At least this means that he hasn't killed Niki and decided to come home early. * Xander thought. * She's gotta make it out of this all right. * Just then Oz pulled him back as Giles dusted the vamp he, in his distracted state, had failed to notice. "Thanks G-man" he said, whilst silently reminding himself to pay attention. Up ahead he heard the distinctive thump of a body hitting a wall, "Guess this means we're back on 'Watch Buffy and Angel's back' duty" he commented, referring to the two who'd gone up ahead to deal with Druscilla.
When they entered the cavern it was obvious that Druscilla wasn't planning on going down without a fight. She still had about twenty minions she was hoping would take care of Buffy and Angel. "Thwack" Druscilla turned to see another vampire explode into dust as the crossbow Giles had just fired hit it's target. With Giles and the four Slayerettes joining the fight Buffy found it didn't take too long until all the lesser vampires were dusted and she was left to face off against Druscilla. Angel, Giles, Xander, Willow, Oz and Cordelia stood to the sides, keeping their eyes open in case any other vampires should show up. Druscilla and Buffy faced each other, neither making a move, suddenly Druscilla screamed and threw herself at Buffy. Buffy sidestepped, rolled and turned to face her, rolling her eyes as she said " At least you could be original Dru, how many times have I seen that move in movies." With that she whipped out a stake and threw it with deadly aim straight into Druscilla's heart. As Druscilla exploded into nothing more than a pile of dust Buffy commented "At least if you're gonna steal from the movies, go with something that works."
Buffy turned to the bystanders and said "Let's get out of here and see if we can give Niki a hand at all. Xander checked his watch as they were leaving, the fighting had taken longer than he realised, it was 11.30pm already. * That means Niki has been alone with Spike for over four hours! Shit! We'd better hurry up and help her * he thought as he followed Buffy out of the sewers.
