Darrel looked at the photo in his hand as he rested the receiver of the phone on his left shoulder.
“Yeah I’m looking at the photo right now,” he said with interest, “are we sure this is it? . . Great . . . no leave it there I’ve got someone coming to collect it.”
Darrel hung up the phone. He placed the photo on his desk and gazed casually at the demon on the other side.
“Drukar right?” Darrel asked, “You come highly recommended.”
Drukar smiled at Darrel.
“Deliver anything, anywhere, any time in any dimension is my motto, well, if I started to have one.” Drukar replied
“Good to hear,” Darrel replied sliding the photo over to him, “I want you to pick this up for us and deliver it here.”
Drukar picked up the photo and examined it. He frowned, creasing his dark brown skin, as his yellow eyes glared at the lawyer.
“It’s a clock.” He said in an annoyed tone
“Yes it is,” Darrel replied smugly, “good to see I don’t need to do a perception test on you.”
“Why don’t you just FedEx it?”
“This clock has immense personal value. It was left to us by three old men I just want to make sure it’s not damaged during transport.”
“I want more money.” Drukar demanded
Darrel leaned in smiling.
“You’ll do it for the price we agreed on.”
Drukar slapped down the photo.
“This is an insult!” he snapped, “I’m not gonna lower myself to the level of a postal worker!”
“Didn’t you just say ‘anything, anywhere, any time’?”
“Yeah but that usually involves something that needs to be below the radar not some kind of Wal-Mart discount item!”
Darrel nodded. He leaned back in his chair.
“I’m sorry you feel that way,” Darrel replied confidently, “but you do understand that if you breech our agreement I will release the details of your other ‘deliveries’.”
Drukar looked at Darrel curiously.
“You don’t have that.”
“Don’t I? The delivery I found the most interesting was the black plague to Europe in the middle ages.”
Drukar frowned at him. He picked up the photo and glared at it.
“Fine I’ll do it.” he replied
“Good man,” Darrel replied, “the address is on the back.”
Drukar stood and exited the office. He grumbled to himself as he stared at the photo. These guys were almost as bad as delivering for Wolfram and Hart when they were still around. There was something about this clock that bothered him but he was sure he would find out what it is when he reaches Phoenix in a few days.

Belle sat nervously in Nolan’s bed. The conversation she had with Lea left her worried and a little scared. Sitting at his desk Nolan looked at his sister curiously.
“So . . . Lea’s a slayer?” he asked
“Yeah,” Belle replied a little dazed
Nolan smirked slightly at the thought.
“So much for that chosen one stuff huh?”
“Nolan this is serious, I mean, what if Rebecca really did something to hurt Lea?”
“Okay let’s back the train out of crazy town for a second,” Nolan replied, “We’re talking about Rebecca here, Mrs. Upstanding Citizen, I don’t see her hurting anybody Belle."
“We don’t know that. Rebecca never talks about herself how do we know that she’s on our side really? I could be her job to hurt slayers you’ve see how powerful she is.”
Just then Peter opened the door. He had just got back from his night shift and was still dressed in his police uniform. He leaned casually in the doorway and smiled at his children.
“There you two are,” he said happily, “I was wondering where you got to.”
“Hey dad.” Belle said sadly
Peter looked at his daughter worried. Over the last month or so he had noticed a change in her behavior. At first he thought it was puberty but other things kept happening that told him otherwise.
“Something wrong honey?” he asked
“No,” Belle replied a little too sharply, “everything’s cool.”
“You’d tell me if something’s wrong right?”
Belle looked up at him.
“Yeah.”
Peter wasn't convinced. Belled smiled at him lightly.
“Things are find dad,” she replied, “just going through . . . some girl stuff.”
Peter shifted awkwardly.
“Oh,” he replied, “okay if you want to talk . . .”
“Belle nodded. Peter left the room leaving the two of them alone again. Belle often uses the girl stuff excuse because she knows that her father is not one hundred percent confident talking about it with her. Nolan turned back to Belle.
“So what’s the plan?” he asked
“I’ll talk to Nigel. See what he thinks I should do.”
The next morning Rebecca stirred in her bed. She rolled over and her arm landed on the spot where her husband should be. She opened her eyes and stared curiously. Getting up Rebecca slipped on her robe and walked out of the bedroom. She found Alex sitting on the sofa quietly. She walked over and sat next to him.
“You’ve been up all night?” she asked curiously as she lightly stroked his hear
Alex shrugged.
“Couldn’t sleep.” Alex replied in a sad tone
Rebecca frowned. She looked down and noticed the picture he was holding in his hand. It was a photo of him and Penny at Alex graduation ceremony. Seeing this she scooted next to her husband and put her arms around him.
“Aw sweetie.” She said as she leaned her head against her shoulder
“We should have looked harder for her,” Alex replied, “We should of . . .”
“We did all we could,” Rebecca commented, “Willow had the coven searching for months.”
“But she was out there Beck. We gave in too soon.”
Rebecca looked at him seriously.
“This is not you’re fault Alex. You shouldn’t blame yourself for something you couldn’t control.”
Alex looked over to her a stead stream of tears coming from his eyes.
“But I could have. She shouldn’t have gone out there! I should have made her stay!”
“Do you think you could have?”
Alex dropped his head.
“All she wanted to do was be like you Beck.”
Rebecca pouted. Slowly tears began to form in her eyes. She lifted Alex’s head and hugged him tightly.
“I am so sorry sweetie.” Rebecca said as she began to cry, “If there was anyway I could bring her back I would do it you know that right?”
~ The marsh household, Raleighfield California ~
“Heidi get up you’re gonna be late.” Jennifer Marsh said from her daughter’s doorway
Heidi stirred in her bed. She rolled over onto her back and stared at the sealing
“O-okay mom!” she yelled back as she prepared herself to get out of bed
Heidi threw back the covers and moved herself into a sitting position. She rubbed her eyes and looked over to her wall. On that wall was another picture of the Signum she drew from her premonition. She stared at it curiously for a moment examining every marking. Then it hit her like a rocket. Images began to flood her mind like a river but there was a difference. Heidi shook her head lightly as she tried to assemble coherent images in her mind. She looked back up at the picture of the Signum again and in particular the small circle in the center. A smile slowly began to cross her face as she focused on one of the images in her mind. For one it wasn’t about death but something incredibly positive that’s going to affect all who surround it. Heidi caught herself laughing lightly.
“S-She’s coming.” She said lightly to herself, “T-they will know.”
Quickly Heidi got dressed and packed her school bag. There was a lot to do before the arrival some more immediate then others. Jennifer watched curiously as her daughter rushed out of her room and out the door.
“Heidi?” Jennifer called out, “don’t you want your . . ?”
It was too late Heidi was already out the door. She looked over to her husband, Robert, curiously.
“What was that about?” she asked
Robert shrugged
“Least she’s in a good mood this morning.” he replied
Nikki closed her locker and looked Lea curiously.
“You mean the other slayer’s a freshman?” she asked
“Yeah I couldn’t believe it either,” Lea replied, “but she does have the power. Also she’s been hanging around the Divine One.”
Nikki looked at Lea shocked
“Okay now you’re joking with me.”
“Saw it myself. She was with her while she was patrolling.”
Nikki leaned against her locker and held her books to her chest.
“Man,” she exclaimed, “we have to get her away from Rebecca.”
“I know, I know,” lea replied, “Talked to her last night all we need to do is call the underground.”
“I’ll do it tonight.”
Bruce stood out the front of Raleighfield. He studied the buildings closely looking for anything he could use. Beside him stood his assistant Gavin and Sarah. Bruce folded his arms and tilted his head curiously.
“How long ‘till class starts?” he asked
“I a couple of minutes.” Sarah replied
“Right,” Bruce replied, “We’ll bag the first one in a few. Lea’s gonna be a challenge but.”
Bruce turned to Gavin
“I wanna know every exit to this place. Every door, every window if they dug a giant gopher hole under this place I wanna know about it.”
“Got it.” Gavin replied as he headed into the building
“How are you planning on catching them?” Sarah asked
“I grew up on a sheep farm,” Bruce replied, “think I’ll do some herding.”
Katie and Lakisha sat in the English class. Lakisha looks over to Katie. Katie was staring idly at her work not really focusing on what she was supposed to be doing. Lakisha frowned and leaned over to her.
“You okay girl?” she asked
Katie looked over to Lakisha. She smiled lightly
“Yeah,” she replied lightly, “just a little nervous.”
Lakisha put her hand on Katie’s shoulders.
“Lea’s got our back you know that.”
“I know.”
“So what’s the problem?”
Katie check to see if the teacher was watching. She turned to face Lakisha.
“I was thinking . . . what if we just turn our self into the council?”
Lakisha looked at Katie worried. Maybe the pressure was finally getting to her.
“Ya heard the stories right? ‘bout what Rodger’s doin’ to those slayer who did get back?”
“Yeah I heard but what if it’s not so bad?” Katie replied, “you know, what if we don’t have to do this anymore?”
Lakisha smile.
“We’ll be fine girl, we’ve dodged them before.”
“Ladies,” The teachers said from the front, “I hope that conversation is life and death.”
Lakisha and Katie looked at each other.
“No miss.” Katie replied
“Then maybe you should pay attention to the front of the class.”
The girls looked at each other one more time then returned to their positions. Suddenly the PA crackled to life.
Katie Watson please report to the principal’s office
Again Katie and Lakisha looked at each other worried. Katie shrugged and gathered her things and headed out of the classroom. She arrived at Principal Crawford’s office and knocked lightly at the door. Principal Crawford called her in. Katie opened the door and walked in. she stood awkwardly.
“You . . . wanted to see me Principal Crawford?” she asked tentatively
Principal Crawford didn’t reply he had a nervous expression on his face as he shifted his attention to the back corner of the room. Katie stared at him curiously for a moment before looking over her shoulder. In the corner Bruce smiled at her. He smiled at the slayer as had a gun trained on the principal.
“G’day girly.” He said cheerfully, “but the authority of the watchers council . . . you know what let’s cut straight to the end.”
Katie looked terrified. Before she could run she was smacked over the back of the head by Gavin. Katie collapsed unconscious onto the floor. Bruce stood up from his chair and walked over to the Gavin.
“Piece of cake,” he said as he looked down at Katie, “Now comes the hard bit.”
Nikki rushed back to her locker. After the conversation with Lea she had forgotten her chemistry book. As she opened the door an envelope fell out. Curiously she picked it up and examined it. It was addressed to her. Tentatively she opened it and pulled out the note inside. There were only for words written but they were the worst for words in her life.
The council is coming
Nikki looked horrified. She covered her mouth with her hand.
“Oh no.” she said quietly.
Quickly she slammed her locker door closed. pulling out her cell she dialed a number quickly. Nikki stood impatiently in the hallway as the number rang. There was a click but unfortunately all she got was the voice mail. Nikki ran her hand through her hair as she waited for the beep.
“God, Lea are you there? . . . pick up! . . . alright, when you get this call me immediately! We’ve been flagged!” Nikki yelled down the phone.
Nikki hung up her cell and tried to think. Her mind was racing at a million miles per hour but it was clear what she had to do. Nikki at full slayer speed down to the football field where she knew Lea would be training right about now.
Lea stretched and warmed up as she stood in front of her cheerleaders. She decided to slow down the training for a bit to help Angie adjust to the pace. Lea stepped out in front of the girls and looked at each of them.
“Okay we’re gonna start with a simple routine then work our way up to . . .”
“Lea Gray?” a male voice called out from behind
Lea turned and saw the two men looking at her very seriously. There was a familiar look to both of them which she didn’t like.
“Yeah?” she asked cautiously
Bruce took two steps forward.
“By the authority of the Watchers Council of England you are here by ordered to return with us for reassessment and reintegration.”
The cheerleaders looked at each other confused. They had no idea what was going on. Lea, on the other hand, knew perfectly well was going on. forgetting her cover completely Lea dropped her pom-poms turned and ran. Bruce smiled to himself.
“Oh I love this bit.” He said as he drew his gun
