DISCLAIMER: We don’t own anything but MAS owns the idea!
TIMELINE: After Empty Places, S7 of Buffy and S4 of Angel.
DISTRIBUTION: If you want this story on your site, please tell us.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: Most of BTVS Season 6 happened with the following differences. Buffy and Spike were only friends, although he is still in love with her. Season 7 changes include Andrew coming to Buffy after he killed Jonathan. The power the First had over him broke when he realised what he had done. Buffy knows she is Connors mother; she remembered the forgotten day and saw what the Powers did with her son.
AUTHOR’S NOTE 1: AtS season four. Connor came back alone. Cordelia not a higher being. She convinced Angel they were meant to be that Buffy no longer wanted him. The AI team defeated the Beast just like Angel dreamed in during Awakening.
AUTHOR’S NOTE 2: This is a new and improved Betrayed, after I decided to rewrite. If you don’t like this, then please e-mail me to read the old Betrayed. Thank you.
FEEDBACK: Yes please. Please send in your reviews and I shall pass them on to my co-author.
DEDICATION: To all the fans of Buffy who thought that everyone was wrong to kick her out in Empty Places.
RATING- R for bad language and in a later chapter, for a sex scene.
BETA: Robyn (Who helped a lot on this chapter.)

-Previously-

“Anya’s right, but Mom said Buffy couldn’t be trusted that she would turn on us. That she wouldn’t be there when we needed her the most. She wouldn’t be there for me,” Dawns voice became higher with hysteria.

“Mom…don’t you mean The First? You know Buffy wouldn’t leave you, you know that. And you did exactly what the First wanted, you kicked her out. She will now fight the first alone because of our little intervention we had today. We’re all going to die. A very slow and painful death!” Anya stood up and pushed her hair behind her shoulders.

“We are so screwed,” Anya whispered wondering if she should run after Spike. Sure, she wasn’t a Buffy fan but hey it was safer with her than an out of control Vampire Slayer and the rest of these misfits.

“We’re screwed,” Anya repeated.

Chapter Four: Arrivals, Angels and Miracles

Driving down the main road of the empty Sunnydale, Wesley stared out of the front window. After hearing from Whistler, who had quickly introduced himself before they got the crossbow out, Wesley knew that he, Connor and Lorne were needed in Sunnydale.

Not for Angel.

But for Buffy.

His old charge needed help and by god was he going to stick with her. After the deal with Connor, Angel couldn’t bring him self to trust Wesley ever again and Wesley didn’t blame him.

He did blame Angel though for pushing Connor aside when Connor started to ask about his mother. Lorne sighed and Connor smiled slightly as he sat in the back of the rental car.

Connor’s head was thinking things faster than the speed of sound and he was starting to get a headache because of it. He ran his thin but long fingers through his shaggy brown hair (“Get a haircut,” Cordy shouted once). Connor liked his hair especially after being in the sun, he looked into windows and could see blonde coming through like his mother’s.

Enough about your hair, Connor mentally laughed at him self. Wesley and Lorne quickly told him that the blonde slayer needed help (though she would never admit. Too stubborn like her soul mate) and she needed it now.

Connor glanced at the bag next to him. Inside it contained ingredients for a spell, something he didn’t want to be part off but had to. Based on his past experiences with magic something bad always happened.

The green figure in front massaged his temples. After receiving a vision from the powers just before the golden trio left for Los Angeles, his head was thumping. He had a vision of a spell, Connor, a blonde girl and a brown-haired Buffy.

The Powers started giving Lorne visions because they didn’t trust Cordelia anymore. Oh, the fake blonde seer still got some visions but none that involved Buffy or anything really, really important. She abused her powers by not giving Angel the information on Buffy jumping off the tower to defeat Glory.

Wesley took a sharp left turn and they pulled outside the mansion that Angel/Angelus owned. Connor wrinkled his nose a little as he lifted up the box containing the rare ingredients and got out the car, nearly dropping everything.

“Connor!” Wesley and Lorne yelled, Connor smiled sheepishly at them, “Sorry but someone really needs to put a signs as to where the curb are.”

Wesley just rolled his eyes and Lorne muttered something about Connor being just like this mother. Connor just smiled even more as he continued walking up to the double doors. Gently knocking the wood with his foot to let anyone inside know that he wanted entry.

Inside, Buffy’s head shot up and she knew then that her son had returned to her. Nodding at Whistler who got up and walked over to the doors, pulling them open to allow Wesley, Lorne and Connor to enter.

Connor put down the box and sighed, rubbing his back. “That thing was heavy. someone else can carry it next time, fuck…shoot…sugar…” Connor stuttered the last part when he saw everyone was looking at him. He shrugged and walked over to the couch, flopping down.

Buffy walked across the room coming from the bathroom, that was just to side of the big room where they all stood or sat and Buffy smiled and ruffled his hair, which Connor rolled his eyes and groaned, “Mom!”

Lorne sat down, as did Whistler and Wesley. “You better tell her about your vision,” Wesley said leaning back against the couch. Lorne nodded and looked at Buffy, who was now sitting next to Connor.

“Last night I got a vision from the PTB. You, me, a blonde girl and Connor and…I think Angelus…” Lorne was about to continue but Buffy interrupted him by raising an eyebrow and asking, “What’s so special about this vision?”

“Well, you my sweet had brown hair and your eyes had grown darker. Meaning only one thing. The First Slayer has been called upon to give you strength and knowledge for the End of Days. The blonde girl…I’m not sure who she is but she’s important to Connorkins over there,” saying that, Lorne directing his comments at the said boy as he started to blush slightly.

Buffy couldn’t help but smirk or giggle at her son’s embarrassment but quickly recovered. Looking back at Lorne she indicated for him to continue. “In the box that wonder boy (Connor raised an eyebrow at the nickname) carried in contains the ingredients for the spell.”

Buffy got off the couch and walked over to the box. She picked it up and moved it to the centre of the room before opening it. Connor leaned over to his mother and whispered, “Are you sure you want to do this?”

Buffy looked up, wrapping her arm around Conner’s shoulders, “Anything to save this world and you.” Buffy looked at Wesley and Lorne, “Let’s do this.”

Before anyone could do anything, the doors burst open and in walked Spike and Andrew. “Thanks for inviting us.” Connor raised an eyebrow and looked at Buffy as if to say ‘Is this guy real?’ Buffy chuckled and shock her head. Connor sighed and looked at the ceiling as if to say: God help me.

Spike raised an eyebrow at Connor before looking at the contents of the box, where Andrew was sniffing around. The group continued what they were doing before they were interrupted. Very carefully they took out each bottle, a box and the book that held the spell. “So, what does this do?” Andrew asked, looking at the spell.

“It will let the First slayer enter Buffy and give her more power than any other slayer before.” Wesley answered and Andrew shook his head, “You mean I get more power than Faith? Cool.” Buffy stated sarcastically. Whistler couldn’t help but laugh at her.

They need to get everything prepared before they started the spell. Lorne and Wesley read instructions and everyone carried them out. Half an hour later and an hour to go until eleven, Buffy stood in the pattern of sand that was centred in the middle of room. “Are you ready, Buffikins?” Lorne asked, as he opened the book. Buffy nodded. Connor swallowed hard as Spike whispered to him, “Don’t worry.”

Lorne let out a breath and began the spell, saying in a loud clear voice:

Inner darkness, hear our plea.
We need your help to defeat
The very existent of all evil
Your warrior is here as to ask for help
Help her not to fall into despair.
Please help us defeat our worst fears.
Inner darkness, hear our plea
Set her inner Slayer free.

When Lorne said the very last bit…well shouted…a gust of wind burst open every window and door and the sand lifted from the floor and began to twist around Buffy. Connor’s eyes widened as you could see the changes to Buffy’s body begin.

As the sand faded and disappeared, everyone could see the changes that had occurred from the spell. Her blonde hair had become a dark brown. Eyes that were once green now brown almost black. Even the curves of her body were softer, more seductive and a tattoo of a Phoenix showed on her left shoulder, visible to all with the outfit that she wore.

“Bloody hell,” Spike whispered as everyone took a step back. “Wow, what head rush,” Buffy said holding her head in her hands as she sat down. “Are you alright?” Lorne asked, closing the book.

Back at the Summers’ home everyone was trying to get some sleep…well Angel was anyway. Angel was having a hard time. He tossed and turned before letting out a scream as he felt something pull Angelus out of him. The potentials screamed as well and Cordelia ran over to Angel, clutching his hand. “What’s wrong?”

“Angelus…can’t feel him…pain,” Angel chocked out. It took a good 10 minutes to calm him down. When he finally did Giles went over to him and asked, “What happened?” Angel swallowed and look at the man in the eyes, “I was trying to get some sleep (“A bit hard to do around here,” Anya muttered.) and I felt this sharp pain. Then I knew Angelus was gone.”

“What do you mean? Gone?” Cordelia asked, smiling since her mind registered that if Angelus was now gone, she and Angel could go to his bed in Los Angeles…or anywhere and have sex…something she had been waiting for since…well ever.

Giles frowned and turned to Faith, “We need to find Buffy. If there is anywhere she could be it would be the mansion.”

Faith raised an eyebrow but nodded. Calling everyone to get weapons and be ready in five minutes. Once everyone was suited and booted, they began to walk to the mansion. Cordelia had pulled Angel to the side to beg him to stay with her but he had to find out if Angelus was at the mansion.

Cordelia was not happy but she didn’t want to be left behind. She was more worried if she didn’t go with Angel that he would join his beloved Buffy leaving her in the cold.

Just as they had finished cleaning up from the spell, Buffy looked up to see them enter. “What do you want?” she said coldly to them. The Scooby Gang gasped at the sight and Cordelia screeched, “Connor! What are you doing here?”

Connor smirked and stood next to his mother, crossing his arms. “I’m here to help her… not you.” Wesley and the others chuckled before stopping when they heard a potential scream, “Bringers!!”

Buffy sighed and grabbed the Scythe that she got before going to the mansion with Whistler who had stayed outside. Sure enough, outside were around 20 Bringers and the First stood next to Caleb. ‘I really need to kill that guy’ Buffy thought to herself and waited for the First to make the first move. Cocking her hip to the side, Buffy let the scythe dangle in her right arm and watch the Bringers closely, narrowing her brown eyes.

Just before the First or Caleb could make a command to the Bringers, the ground began to shake. No one could find something stable to hang onto. After it stopped, the only people still standing were Buffy and Angel.

Caleb yelled, “Attack them.” A second later, the potentials were running inside the mansion and Dawn ran behind Connor, who smiled a little. Buffy just sighed and began to fight. She raised the scythe, cutting a Bringer in half and throwing another Bringer at Spike who snapped his head off.

Before they realized it only two Bringers remained and they stood behind the First and Caleb as if protecting their backs. Caleb frowned and turned to look at them, but before he could say anything he was flying through the air. By the time everyone looked up, the doors to the mansion were flung open and there stood two figures, their bodies outlined in the moonlight.

“Are we late?” came the voice of someone that everyone knew, well apart from a few potentials.

Closing the door behind them, Angelus turned round and smirked at his companion. “Guess we were late.”

“Typical,” muttered the figure next to him and when it turned round, Connor couldn’t help but let his jaw drop. There in front of him was his father and a girl, who seemed to be an Angel. She was just missing the wings and a halo.

Whistler stepped out of the shadows and smiled, “I wondered when I’d be seeing you.”

The girl chuckled and went to walk over to the fireplace when a hand stopped her after just a few steps. The girl looked up to see Faith holding her.

“Who are you?” Faith asked.

“I’m Miracle.”

A few SIT’s snorted and even Cordelia laugh as Miracle glared at them. “So? What do you exactly do?” Cordelia asked and Miracle smirked, “I’m the only one who can help Buffy win the End of Days, so a little respect if you don’t mind.”

Cordelia took a step back and Buffy looked over at Miracle who stood next to Angelus. “And how can you help me?”

Angelus chuckled and Miracle smiled more, “I will tell you tomorrow morning but I suggest that the Kick-the-Chosen-One-Out club over there must choose whether to stay or leave.”

Everyone turned to Faith who sighed, “We’ll stay.” Miracle nodded and turned to Angelus before looking at the group. “You better get some sleep, you’re in for a long tale.”

Note: Once again, I’m so sorry for the long wait but Jenn has been very sick and unable to come to the computer. She lost the parts that she had written for chapter 4, so I had to take on the job myself. Luckily my Beta Robyn was on hand to add certain bits I had forgotten and take out bits that didn’t make sense. So a big thank you to her. Right now, I’m doing a lot of work on a HP story, which is taking awhile, but I promise soon, you’ll have the story. Thank you for waiting for this chapter. CHAPTER 5 COMING SOON!!!

To all the reviewers (Sorry I can’t name you one by one): Thank you for sticking by the old version and the new version. It is taking awhile for me to update, mainly because of my other story and Jenn being sick. Hopefully, I’ll be getting the updates in quicker. Keep reviewing and reading!!
