*Story Fresh right off the press, unfortunatley I haven't had alot of time lately and wasn't able to reread the story. As usual, excuse the weird stuff. :-)
2000: L.A.: Lilah Morgan walked down the hall of Wolfram & Hart. She had to be somewhere. She carried a briefcase in her hand as she moved towards the elevator. At the Elevator she met with Lindsey McDonald, “Good Morning,” said Lilah stepping into the elevator with him.
“Don’t give me that,” replied Lindsey, he pressed the elevator button 32, “You were called to this meeting too?”
“Yes,” said Lilah, “Hopefully it’s not another surprise party.”
“No, I don’t think it’s Reed’s birthday anytime soon,” said Lindsey.
“Did you know that Holland is going to be at the meeting?” questioned Lilah.
“Oh, is he, taking him out of hell for this, must be big business,” said Lindsey.
“I hear, it’s Angel busy,” said Lilah.
Lindsey looked at his hand then back at the elevator doors, “Really?”
“Yes,” said Lilah, “Oh don’t worry, we’re not going to discuss your losses.”
Lindsey looked at her, then the doors of the elevator opened and they walked down the hall towards the board room, “I don’t think we’d need to talk about that Lilah.”
“Oh, Lindsey, did you hear about Mr. Holland Manner’s new job down in hell?” questioned Lilah.
“No, I don’t believe I have,” said Lindsey.
“Well it turns out he’s doing some legal business with Nike,” said Lilah.
“Oh, are there child laborers running away again?” asked Lindsey as they walked into the board room.
“You know it,” said Lilah.
“Lilah, Lindsey,” said Reed standing at the front of the board room table, only Reed, Holland were there, a phone in the middle of the table.
“Reed, Holland,” greeted Lindsey.
“Right on time,” said Holland, “Just like I expected.”
“How’s life treating you Holland?” asked Lilah, “Or, un-life?”
“Quite well considering my, accommodations,” said Holland, referring to hell.
“We’ll pray for you,” said Lilah.
“Now down to business,” said Reed sitting down at the front of the table. Reed pressed a button on the phone and started talking again while pulling a piece of paper out of a folder, “ We all here know that Angel has been for some time a threat of ours. We’ve all suffered losses in this game. And I hope that we’ve all realized that, The Black thorn plainly, isn’t good enough for us.”
“But sir,” said Lilah, “The Black thorn is, the elite, all the way up to the Seniors.”
“The Senior Partners,” began Holland, “They know that Angel is something more then we could of expected, yes. And they want to take precautions.”
“The Senior Partners, seem worried,” said Lindsey, “For lack of better words,” he said to the phone.
“Watch yourself Lindsey,” said Holland.
“No offense, we’re a lone group, everyone here can keep their mouths shut,” said Lindsey.
“So, do we have a suggested plan?” questioned Lilah.
“We’ve found two random employees, two of which have children,” said Holland, “These children are each an only child, one male one female. And as it turns out the Senior Partners have foreseen a good use of these two children. They’ve foreseen some difficult times.”
“And?” questioned Lilah.
“And Lilah, this is our back up plan,” said Reeds, “In the case that something happens to get past our people. Which, in no way, we’re saying that we are weak. Wolfram & Hart is the strongest that we’ve ever been. This plan will be put forth after a matter of months, we will be rebuilt, once the enemy. In that case Angel and anyone working with him are destroyed.”
“How?” asked Lindsey, “What makes this plan, different, or however you’d like to tell it.”
“There will be different stages, these stages which will make Angel and anyone in league with him fall at our feet,” said Holland, “The plan will gradually differ, with the come of new circumstances, the etc. A level will be added.”
“The parents will never be informed of their children being chosen and these children once the plan is in activation if that ever occurs in there life time, or there children’s life time, as their children will be chosen ones and so on. Either way, the descendant will become a sacrifice. One for Angel, the male, a male, the other for anyone that needs to be taken down through plan.”
“So these children die?” asked Lindsey.
Everyone in there started laughing.
“No, they don’t,” said Reed.
----------------------------
EMMA WENT TO SLEEP A COUPLE OF HOURS LATER ON A COUCH IN THE LOBBY. The morning came. Conner sat on the other one. Angel walked down the stairs from up stairs. Wesley was making some coffee.
Angel looked at his son, “We’re going to beat them. We’re going to fight them.” Everyone looked at him, except for the slumbering Emma. “The Descendants were created for a reason, everything, everyone comes from somewhere. All these plans have been put into go because of Wolfram & Hart. And we can defeat them.”
“If we all want to come back soulless,” said Spike drinking himself a glass of blood standing against the bar.
“Shut up Spike,” said Angel, “We’re all going to be optimistic, and someone wake Emma up.”
“I can hear your yammering,” moaned Emma.
Emma sat up yawning. Angel kept talking, “This is all Wolfram & Hart’s doing, they’ve planned this out. No doubt, so they can rebuild themselves. And everything, everyone has a weakness. Those teenagers were chosen as sacrifices to spite us. And we figured that out.”
“Barely,” sighed Conner.
“We won’t have to worry about The Descendants, by the end of this week,” said Angel.
“Because either, A. They get what they want, or B. Whatever is going on, they’ll just stop bloody caring,” said Spike, “I think A. is the winner.”
“Spike, no one cares what you have to say,” said Angel.
“Yes we do, just as much as the next,” growled Emma, “Fine, you’re optimistic, boo hoo, we can’t do anything. Everyone bloody well knows that, where’s there hide out, when are they going to stop fighting us?”
“There’s going to be a battle,” sighed Conner.
“It’s the inevitable,” said Wesley.
“And so far Angel, we’re playing the down card,” said Spike, “You can’t ignore that.”
“I’m not ignoring it,” said Angel.
“We need a plan,” said Emma.
Everyone got quiet, Angel didn’t want to say anything on his mind. Spike would probably answer with something Pessimistic. And frankly he was getting pretty angry of that.
“They wanted me evil,” said Conner.
“Wanted me dead,” said Wesley.
“Wanted me Evil as well,” said Angel.
Emma thought about it for a moment, “I think they wanted me to kill you,” Emma said to Spike.
“Could of wanted me to kill you,” said Spike.
“Actually,” said a familiar voice, “Emma’s right,” Lilah stood at the Lobby doors.
“Lilah?” questioned Wesley.
Then she just said it the frankest way possible, “Duh.”
“I thought you were supposed to be in hell?” asked Angel.
“Maybe it’s from the Descendants?” sneered Conner.
“Now, that just makes me sad,” said Lilah, “Woman can’t come back for a little visit to help the enemy?”
“Why would you want to help the enemy Lilah?” asked Wesley.
“She’s real,” said Emma bluntly, “No Descendant thing, unless they’re playin’ puppets with her body too.”
“Thank you,” said Lilah, “Glad someone still sees a bit of good in me.”
“I didn’t say I saw good you,” scoffed Emma.
“Either way,” shrugged Lilah, “I was there when The Descendants were made, put in order. I signed for them.”
----------------------------
“HOLLAND?” questioned Lindsey, “Do you even know the stages this will take place, any of us?”
“Only the Senior partners and the pick of The Black Thorn,” said Holland.
“So we sign to this, anything could happen?” asked Lilah.
They were all standing over a contract, “Yes,” answered a firm voice from the phone. On the other line, the Senior Partners, that was one of them talking.
“I’m not a big friend of the ‘asking questions’ but, I have to know, if this were to take affect, would the Senior partners be around?” asked Lilah.
“No Lilah Morgan, we will be dead,” said the deep voice.
“Alright,” said Lilah, “Just wondered,” she signed the paper.
“Not going to ask about the benefits?” asked Reed.
“I think I can trust The Senior Partners, but you have ask yourselves, can you trust Lindsey?” questioned Lilah.
“What are you doing Lilah?” questioned Lindsey.
“Do we have any reason, not to?” questioned the voice.
“Just wanting you to think about it, Sir,” smiled Lilah.
Lindsey looked at all the faces of the room.
----------------------------
“WE CAME UP WITH THE DESCENDANTS INCASE SOMETHING WOULD, happen,” said Lilah, sitting in a chair, like a proper woman, in a way you’d never catch Emma sitting.
“Tell us something we don’t know,” said Spike.
“Everything comes clear when someone dies,” said Lilah, “Well, depending on what you sign with Wolfram & Hart.”
“Keep talking,” said Angel.
“The main plan is when The Senior Partners were killed, if it ever happened, The Chosen would be taken under wing by the strongest cult under Wolfram & Hart wing. Once these children were taken under the wing of the cult, they’d be trained to defend themselves and given a drink of the Senior Partner’s blood every meeting. And in a matter of months the Chosen would be sacrificed, when ever the cult chose,” started Lilah.
Lilah pulled up her sleeve out of nowhere and scratched bruised I.V. hole then pulled it down. That was from the I.V. when she died. She went on again: “The first Sacrifice would be in a ritual that would turn Angel gradually into a raving lunatic, and after the first day he’d come to the cult, and they’d keep him. Then Conner came a long, knowing that, we also knew that the ritual would affect him as well, after awhile. That boy being what he is, would be most valuable without a soul and quite evil, we’d have 2 evil super heroes,” she rubbed her throat, “I’m getting a little thirsty, do you mind getting me a water?”
“Just keep talking Lilah,” said Angel, “You’ll get your water when we’re satisfied.”
She took a breath then kept going, “If by that time Angel, or Conner without a soul hadn’t killed Wesley, we’d have him hunted down by a member of the cult, Luther Timmons. He’s always been a loyal servant. Turns out though, Senior Partners didn’t put in the word in a enough time that they just wanted Wesley dead, not a servant of the cult. So a wing of the mob were sent out to kill Luther knowing that the goal of Luther’s would be to develop a trust amongst you guys. Prove to be bad. Luther realized that things had changed so he was going to take it into his own hands, kill Wesley.”
Lilah cleared her throat, “But once Spike got a soul, things really started to come into place. Spike’s soul was unforeseen, Emma being unforeseen. There’s were the second Chosen one went. But they wanted to mix it up a little. Having one vampire was enough, didn’t need Spike. But the poor Homicidal girl would be very valuable. Have her kill her own father, she’d never be the same.”
Emma looked at Lilah angrily as Lilah spoke: “So we just wanted to have a little fun. Emma would be crazy, and we all know she’s not the best little girl when she’s got the crazy itch. Evil. Conner Evil. Angel Evil, crazy like, then the Senior Partners would use them for their advantage, become them. Their bodies, there powers.”
“Why not use my body instead of Angel’s?” questioned Spike, “I’m the better looking of us two.”
“Shut up Spike,” said Angel.
“Actually, you Spike, you did have a Senior Partner in you. And he was planning to stay. Not needing you they were just going to kill you. That Senior Partner thought he’d be able to stop the inevitable killing,” said Lilah.
“So that Senior Partner was going to try and change the future,” sighed Wesley, “Ignore us, but kill Emma and Spike wouldn’t be killed.”
“That Senior Partner knew that Emma would never be able to kill Spike, best chance to bite her and drink her to death. Like she’d want to heal and kill Spike. But didn’t know the other circumstances,” replied Lilah.
“Why can’t they do it now?” asked Conner.
“The shell they enter has to be crazy, and or evil. The soul would be a bad mix,” answered Lilah, “Be like killing themselves.”
“We’ve stopped there plan,” said Spike.
“Just because you stop ones evil plan, doesn’t mean they can’t take on vengeance,” smiled Lilah, “Can I get that water now?”
----------------------------
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE CHILDREN DO NOT DIE?” asked Lindsey.
“They will not die till we’ve found new bodies to live in,” said the voice through the phone.
----------------------------
“THEY DON’T LIKE YOU GUYS ANGEL, they’ll hunt you down, make sure that you don’t mess up there future plans,” said Lilah looking at them. “Yes, they have Future plans.”
“What about having us go to there hide out and taking our souls there?” asked Conner.
“Senior Partners didn’t want the cult stronger than them, so they made it where the cult on there own could only take out a soul once,” then Lilah smiled, “You were the Lucky one there.”
“If they can’t really do anything to us now, Wes?” questioned Angel, “Do you think you can find a spell to locate their hide out.”
“Angel,” said Lilah, “I wouldn’t be counting all my chickens before they hatch, if I were you.”
“You’re not me Lilah,” said Angel, “And it’s not counting chickens, it’s me, figuring out a plan.”
“I’ll need to go to that Magic shop to get some things, but Angel I can’t guarantee any spell,” said Wesley.
“Then you’ll go to the Magic shop, we’ll all go,” said Angel, “Lilah, you up to travel.”
“Actually, I have some other things to attend; banquets, virgin blood parties,” said Lilah, “Hellish stuff.”
“There really is such a thing?” asked Spike.
Angel looked at Spike with a look of authority.
----------------------------
“LEAVE NOW!” demanded the small Chinese owner of the shop, “We do not wish to have your kind here,” he pointed at Angel and Spike who were pulling their coats off their heads from running in there, “I will not allow it, leave!!”
“Calm down old man,” said Emma cocking her head to the side.
“We’re doing world saving business mate,” replied Spike.
“I just need to purchase some key items,” said Wesley holding a list in hand, “And we’ll be out.”
“Weren’t you in here with woman when my place get attacked by mob?” demanded the small man.
“What if he was?” asked Conner looking down at the little man.
“We’ll get the stuff and leave,” said Angel.
“See,” said Emma, “Nothing to get your knickers in a knot about.”
Wesley went down one of the isles. Angel and Spike waited with Emma and Conner. Conner sniffed the air, “Dead things, this place is magic, and evil kind.”
Emma put her hand on Conner’s shoulder, “Just magic that’s all.”
“We do magic when we need it,” sighed Angel.
Wesley had the stuff and was now waiting in line. Angel was examining some kind of spear, didn’t quite know what it was. The little man looked towards him, “You brake, you buy.”
Angel left it alone and stood there waiting on the line with Wes, “I much rather have stayed at the hotel,” said Spike, “This is just depressing.”
Customers were coming in and out of the place. Different species of customers. Some in cloaks of random colors, just a bunch off different types of people. The little Chinese man kept watch on all of the Angel gang.
One came in and just stood in there for awhile, then walked out. Suddenly Angel took that relic and slammed it through the man’s chest. The cloaked figure went down on the ground and all the doors and windows slammed shot and bars went over them.
“Great going,” said Spike, “Who’s smart now.”
“He wasn’t waiting for the line to get smaller Spike,” growled Angel.
Something soared in through the top windows. Everyone got down as the cloaked figure went over the group mystically. Emma ran up one of the shelves and kicked off up it spinning around and kicked down the cloaked figure. She landed.
Spike grabbed some dust out of a bowl and threw it on one that came out of the wall and the cloaked man started throwing his head around and convulsing. Spike laughed then Emma passed him a knife, Spike stabbed it in the throat.
More were going to come, the little man then said in Chinese, “Damn it, that’s the second time this week.”
Angel was grabbed by a couple from behind, Angel elbowed them in the head. One went to punch him and he ducked out of the way then grabbed his arm and snapped it, threw him down. Conner grabbed one by the head and snapped his neck, he ran at the counter were the cash register was and flipped off it and over two of them.
Conner landed on his feet behind them and punched one in the head with his right fist, then elbowed the one in the face. Wesley punched one in the head, “We need to leave!”
Another came at Wes and he kicked him in the stomach then hit him over the head with the box he was carrying. They went for the door out. Through the crowd of the ones coming in. They ran out. Emma ran in front of them and went to the sewers and grabbed up the man hole as Spike was sizzling and Angel was as well.
Conner was fighting a couple off. Wesley got into the man hole, cars dodged out of the way of the people getting in the sewer entrance. Conner threw two of them into a couple of cars grabbed the man hole cover and jumped in. Emma already in.
They landed safely, “We have to go somewhere safe.”
“They could know where we’ll go,” said Emma.
“We’ll just have to take that chance,” said Angel.
----------------------------
“HI WES,” said the chipper voice of Rebecca. She opened up her door to Angel and Spike, “Come on in.”
Everyone went in, Wesley went over to the drapes of her large windows and closed them. Rebecca looked at Wes funny, “What’s going on?”
“We’re being hunted down by a group, The Descendants,” said Wesley plainly.
“Cool,” said Rebecca, she closed the door, “That’s fine by me, hey, make yourselves at home, I’m making some spaghetti if you guys are hungry,” she then looked at Angel and Spike, “I’ve got some packs of blood,” said Rebecca.
“Why would you have packs of blood?” questioned Emma.
“Oh,” Rebecca said, “Sometimes I buy a pack or two of donated blood because I’m very scared that one day when I’m home alone I’ll need a blood transfusion and I won’t be able to get to the hospital in time and die.”
“Human blood?” asked Spike.
“Well, yeah silly,” said Rebecca, “I wouldn’t be putting pig in myself, hell, I don’t even eat bacon.”
“We’re not hungry,” said Angel.
“That’s fine,” said Rebecca.
Emma was looking at Rebecca’s book shelf, “Medical dictionaries, in 4 different languages?”
Rebecca stood against the doorway into her kitchen, “I’m always worried that if I ever need a medical dictionary I’ll be in such panic I won’t be able to remember how to read English.”
They all just looked at her, “Do you guys need anything, anything at all, I have to go watch the spaghetti or there’ll be a fire.”
Rebecca went into the kitchen, “She keeps a fire extinguisher in there at all times,” replied Wesley.
“What about that spell?” questioned Angel.
“We should wait a little bit,” said Wesley, “There’s chances that that’s just what The Descendants are looking for, some kind of a spell from us-”
“So then they can hunt us down and kill us viciously,” said Emma in a chipper voice.
Spike was looking at the floor, cocked his head to the side, “I bet we could eat off this floor.”
“I prefer you not!!” yelled Rebecca happily from the kitchen.
----------------------------
“WHY SHOULDN’T I BE TRUSTED?” questioned Lindsey.
“Lindsey, we all know your past,” said Lilah, “This really needs to kept under wraps, if you know what’s good for you, for the company.”
Lindsey looked to Reed and Holland, “I’m not going to Angel with this, I’m over that. Angel is just the enemy now.”
“I think it’s because of the vampire, Darla,” said Lilah.
“She has nothing to do with this,” said Lindsey, “I know my place amongst Wolfram & Hart, I know what’s good for me.”
“Not a battle of morals?” questioned Holland.
“No, I respect this company, I’d do anything to help it in fact,” said Lindsey.
“Anything?” questioned Reed.
“Of course,” said Lindsey, “Anything, that’s what I signed on to.”
----------------------------
SPIKE WENT TO SLEEP ON REBECCA’S COUCH. Angel peaked out of the window every now and again, “I don’t see anything.”
“That’s good,” said Wesley looking through another of Rebecca’s books.
Rebecca was taking a shower, didn’t mind everyone being alone in her house. Just she bolted the bathroom door when she got in before she took her clothes off. Emma and Conner stood in her kitchen. Conner looked out the window.
“You’re starting to act like Angel,” Emma said softly.
Conner closed the drapes over the window, “I just don’t want them coming for us again.”
“None of us do,” said Emma, “Think we’ll win?” Conner shrugged his shoulders, “You seem different,” said Emma. “Just kind of divergent.”
Conner looked at her confused, Emma smiled a him, a nice little smile, then spoke: “Divergent means like you’re dodging.”
“I’m not,” said Conner.
“Something wrong?” asked Emma.
“I didn’t know what divergent was,” sighed Conner looking down at the table.
Emma looked at the clock, 2:00 p.m., “When night comes I think I’ll go onto the roof.”
“Why?” asked Conner.
“Get some air is all,” sighed Emma, “Roof, I can see them, but they can’t see me.”
“I think they see us all the time,” said Conner, “They know so much about us.”
“So,” said Emma.
Conner looked out the window again. Then he looked back at Emma, she smiled again. Just looking in his eyes across the table. He didn’t smile, just looked at her, kind of wanted to sniff her hair.
Emma stood up and walked out into the hall. Conner was a bit confused about her, he stood up and looked for her. He went to the hall to see where she was, couldn’t see her. Smelled her.
He walked by the pretty photos of parks on the walls and past the closet when Emma pulled him into the closet suddenly. She closed it and kissed him on the mouth hard. The light in the closet was on.
Conner pulled away, hyperventilating. He looked into her curious eyes. Might as well go for it. Conner took in a deep breath and smelled her, went to her hair, put his head against hers. He smelled her hair deep. Emma laughed softly.
He kissed her cheek, Emma slid her cold hands up his shirt and he started warming, goose bumps on his arms. He closed his eyes for a moment. Slowly he opened his eyes again and kissed her firmly his eyes shutting again as he did so. Her hands warmed up.
Emma’s hands felt very warm, he liked it. Her shoulders were warm in his hands. Chills that he enjoyed went up his back. She put her hands on his naked arms, he wearing a short sleeve shirt. She ran her left hand up his shoulder to his jaw and they kept kissing.
Sometimes in that moment Conner would pull away to smell her hair, his hands deep in her silky hair loose down her back. Kissing her jaw, kissing her lips. Conner put her against the wall softly as she pulled at his belt buckle…
----------------------------
THE MONASTERY WAS WELL LIT. The floors were made of marble tile, making a picture of the black thorn’s symbol in the middle of the floor. Torches were in the wall holding places, blazing greatly. Cloaked figures stood in a circle. One in the middle of them unparticular.
They were all dancing and chanting, running around in the midst of a circle. Some of them were blowing fire and others were waving swords like professionals. The middle one did nothing.
“Wolf, Ram, and Hart,” Lindsey pulled his cloak hood off, her was the middle one. He went down on his knees as the chanting grew louder, “Let me pay for my suffering, for I’ve gone against you, and use me with your frightened forces. Thanks to you, I have never died,” he put his head in the air, his hair was long and wavy down his shoulders and his eyes went black, “I said I’d do anything.”
----------------------------
“SOON ANGEL, when the sun goes down so that we don’t have to worry about burning,” said Wesley.
“Then we do this mojo?” questioned Spike, “Cause I’m getting a tad bit tired of wondering all the time.”
They stood in the kitchen, all but Emma and Conner. Angel looked at the books on the desk, Rebecca was the one to speak though, “I’m willing to do anything.”
“We don’t need to risk you Rebecca,” said Wesley.
“I’m a big girl Wes,” said Rebecca, “Sure a good mace to these, ‘Descendants’’ eyes won’t knock them down a notch?”
“We have no idea whether they have any eyes,” said Wesley.
“That’s a pity,” said Rebecca, “I can fight too though, I could do spells. I feel I should help you guys.”
“Maybe next Apocalypse you’ll still have the same thoughts about your death Missy,” said Spike.
“Leave it be Spike,” said Wesley, Wes turned towards Rebecca, “There’s a lot going into this, no one needs to be lost in the battle.”
“That’s good,” said Rebecca, happily, “I can make you some tea.”
“That’d be lovely,” smiled Wesley.
Rebecca went into her cabinets.
“Do we know any key figures playing this game?” asked Spike, “Got to wonder, maybe some connections are still alive, maybe some people left that cult.”
“I can check into it,” said Wesley, “But I’d have to know more in terms of where to look.”
Spike just made a face that meant, ‘well never mind’ and he leaned against Rebecca’s kitchen cabinets.
----------------------------
NIGHT CAME. It was windy on the roof of the building, Emma stood there on the edge feeling the wind fly past her. She put her arms out, her arms naked having left her jacket down at Rebecca’s. Her long hair blue off her face.
She looked down below at the moving cars on the street, “I was never much for roofs,” said Conner.
Emma towards him, “Like climbing a tree.”
Conner stepped up onto the ledge with her, “Nice view I guess.”
“Not about the view for me, just the wind, tendency to get stronger the higher up you are,” said Emma, she looked up at the sky, “The wind kind blocks out life.”
“You just like the wind,” said Conner.
“My favorite,” said Emma, “Sometimes when you’re reading, I go up on the roof on windy days and put my arms out and spin in the wind.”
She put her arms out and turned around a full circle without any wonder needed about her falling. She was safe. Conner just looked at her as she stood there looking across the way at the other apartment buildings.
Loved looking at her profile, way her face curved, her nose, her lips. Didn’t much like the wind, looking around and about as much as he liked looking at her in the wind. Conner wanted her to talk to him, but then again he didn’t.
“What’s that?” questioned Emma pointing off in the distance.
Conner quickly looked to where she was pointing, “I don’t see anything.”
“Something over there, in the sky, shining, black though,” said Emma looking confused, “Coming this way.”
“I don’t see anything,” said Conner.
“We should go back in,” replied Emma back stepping off the edge. She walked backwards towards the door, “What is that?”
Conner followed her, “I don’t see anything.”
“It’s coming towards me,” said Emma, her voice was on the edge of panic.
Just made him look harder for whatever it was she was pointing out, “What Emma, what?!”
Emma saw a shining black substance, definitely mystical moving through the air towards her. It smelled like burning flesh to her, but Conner couldn’t see it or smell it. [Like what Spike had seen in his dream.] Emma started breathing harder, “Conner,” she trembled.
He grabbed her by the shoulders, “What is it?!”
“Something black,” she trembled looking back towards it as it filled the space around her. Her eyes filled with tears, she was very afraid, “Smells like flesh.”
“Magic?” asked Conner.
“I, I, I don’t know,” she cried, “It wants me.”
Emma gripped onto his shirt she was crying and it shot around them, coming very close, like a storm moving in. She could swear the sky had grown white and that this blackness making it’s loud thunder like noises in her ears was real. She thought she felt the world shake, but it wasn’t.
Conner held onto her, looking into her eyes, not knowing what to do. He felt like she was relying on him. Like he was meant to do something, didn’t know what. Emma pulled away from him suddenly and ran for the door and tried to open it to run away not making a sound just trying to move in, go in, go in.
Her hands kept slipping off the knob, then she could see the knob anymore, the stuff was coming closer to her, shooting through the air. Shooting through Conner, Conner didn’t do anything, he then went towards her. Emma went down against the door crying and she started screaming. Her eyes closed tight her hands on her head, “I don’t want it!!!”
Conner quickly ran to her and picked her up, he kicked the door in when he could have used the knob. The night went back to normal. He remembered Lilah saying that, they can only enter someone that’s evil or crazy. She can’t get hysterical. She was.
----------------------------
THE DOOR OF REBECCA’S FLEW OPEN. Conner walked in with her in his arms, crying she was. Spike and them ran in, “What the bloody hell is going on?”
Conner sat the crying Emma on the couch, Emma was clinging to him and wouldn’t let go. He didn’t want her to let go, He held her in his arms as she shook, “She saw something that was coming towards her on the roof.”
“What the hell were you two doing on the roof?!” demanded Angel.
“It’s coming in here!!” screamed Emma into his shirt, her face on his chest.
“I think something’s trying to get her,” said Conner.
“Is it black?” asked Spike trying to figure out the problem.
“She said something like that and, it smells like flesh,” said Conner.
Emma felt the room shake though it wasn’t shaking, she saw stuff that wasn’t there. She knew Conner was there though, she felt him as she held tight to him. Even though, she couldn’t see him. “I don’t want it to take me!” she sobbed.
“It’s probably some Senior Partner thing, when I was in that dream land,” began Spike, “Something ugly black tried to get in me and did.”
“The Senior Partner, wants to get in her body?” questioned Conner.
Emma was breathing funny, taking in deep breaths, “This isn’t a good time to be getting hysterical,” said Wesley, “She needs to not get hysterical.”
“She is hysterical, what are you blind?” demanded Spike.
“I have Elephant tranquilizers,” said Rebecca quickly.
“Why do you have Elephant tranquilizers?” asked Angel looking at her funny.
“Make it stop coming towards me!!” demanded Emma, things in the room started to shake, the windows jarred.
Emma looked around the room, her tears in her eyes making everything blurry. She saw the black stuff come through the windows around them. She saw everyone and those black streams of magical stuff. She couldn’t stop looking at the light on the ceiling the stuff going in it. The light flickering.
“Fight it,” said Conner in Emma’s ear.
“Calm down Emma,” said Wesley.
“She’s starting to seem calm to me,” said Spike, “In a bad way.”
“What’s she looking at?” asked Rebecca looking at her light on the ceiling flipping on and off.
“Go get those Elephant tranquilizers,” said Wesley.
Emma took in a deep breath, like a gasp looking up at the light she fell unconscious like in Conner’s arms. The black stuff started to go into her nostrils, her eyes her ears. Her eyes went from blue to black. She started gasping and convulsing.
Quickly Rebecca brought in a syringe, “I didn’t know whether you wanted it in syringe or dart gun.”
Spike looked at her amazed, wanted to ask why she’d need a dart gun. Everyone was thinking fast. Wesley took the syringe and stabbed it into Emma’s arm. Emma then stopped convulsing. Her eyes opened wide and she moaned, like she would have screamed, but she couldn’t.
They all saw what happened next. Emma threw her head back and the black stuff shot out of her quickly and the windows broke. The black stuff was gone and there was a shot of thunder outside, but no storm.
Emma’s nose was bleeding a little but she was out of it. Rebecca gave Conner a wash cloth and he collected Emma in his arms, scared for her, he took the wash cloth and wiping where she lost blood from her nose.
“What the hell just happened?” demanded Spike.
“The Senior Partner just flew out the windows,” said Rebecca giving it a wild guess, the windows fixed themselves quickly, “Thanks.”
“Emma should be out for at least an hour,” said Wesley.
“What were you two doing on the roof?” demanded Angel, “I said before we have to all stay together.”
“She wanted to be on the roof alright,” growled Conner, “You want us cooped up together?!”
Spike looked down, “They only go into the body of crazy and or evil people.”
“What is she evil?” asked Rebecca.
Conner looked at Rebecca kind of angrily, but then back down at Emma who he held in his arms like he didn’t want to drop her.
“No,” said Spike.
“We all know,” started Angel, “Emma isn’t the sanest of us.”
“She’s not crazy all the time,” stated Spike, “Just kind of bursts out when she traumatized or really angry.” he then scoffed like he was fed up, “I just don’t want you calling my daughter crazy, I’m crazier.”
“No you’re not Spike,” said Angel, “The Senior Partners probably realized she’s always vulnerable.”
Conner stroked her hair, looking at her sleeping, “That she’d get scared.”
“She doesn’t seem crazy to me,” said Rebecca, “I actually quite like her, she seems nice to me. For whatever that’ll help.”
“So what are we going to do now?” demanded Spike, “Make sure none of us loose our nuts and bolts?”
“1. I want to know who’s most likely to be next, 2. We need to find a better place to hide,” said Angel.
“They’re not afraid of groups is what,” said Spike.
----------------------------
LILAH WALKED DOWN THE HALL WITH LINDSEY. They walked down the hall of Wolfram & Hart after the meeting, “What the hell was that back there?”
“Nothing Lindsey,” she turned towards him, “Just checking the situation.”
“Just checking the situation,” quoted Lindsey, “I’m not going against this company again.”
“Now, Lindsey, it’s like a divorce,” said Lilah, “The man that cheated on the wife, that is divorcing the wife to be with the mistress. He’ll most likely end up cheating on his mistress.”
“What’s that mean?” growled Lindsey.
“You’ve done it once, doesn’t mean you won’t do it again,” said Lilah plainly, “Just making sure that you’re the man to trust in the mix of this.”
“Just to say one thing Lilah,” growled Lindsey, “When you’re dead and working in hell on petty cases, I’ll be thriving, working with the Senior Partners up here. Having the nice little extras and guess what-”
“What am I supposed to guess Lindsey?” questioned Lilah, “What makes you think you won’t be down there with me.”
“Because, I will have kept a promise,” said Lindsey, he the smiled at her, “Lilah, don’t forget, you cheat to get what you want. You’ll divorce that woman in a second just so you can have something better.”
----------------------------
THE LITTLE GROUP ENDED UP IN A CRYPT. It was a large crypt, Conner carried Emma who was still asleep. There was a nest of vamps living there, so they cleared them out. Conner put Emma on the old couch against the wall. Spike drank from the vamps frig, good to have himself a beer. Wesley used there lamps to read magic books, read, reread sections making sure they didn’t miss anything.
Conner watched Emma, waiting for her to wake up so he could apologize. He felt he needed to apologize for something he did. He felt he didn’t react fast enough, but he felt he didn’t have anything to apologize for. But then again he did.
Angel looked through the books, wasn’t much of the reader, spent most of his time looking out the dusty windows to see what would happen.
Conner spoke up to Angel, “Why are we running scared?”
His father just looked at him, “Conner, because, we can’t loose anyone.”
“But won’t we just loose someone if we sit here, waiting for them to attack?” questioned Conner.
“Till we know we can defeat them we’ll need to stay here and try and figure out what we’re going to do,” said Angel.
“Did you bring the elephant tranquilizers?” demanded Conner, “Huh, cause, someone here is going to get turned if we keep doing what you want Dad.”
“Conner got a point,” said Spike.
“Shut up, Spike,” said Angel.
“Don’t tell him to shut up,” said Conner, “I’m sick of this, running from the end, why don’t we just find one of there cloaked men, beat them for information. Follow one.”
“We could do that, but having one could lead to more coming, and those more could be well armed,” said Angel.
“More scared words dad,” said Conner, “I don’t like seeing Emma scared, I don’t like seeing her feel bad. I don’t like running from the bad guys.”
Angel stood up from the chair he sat in, “None of us do Conner, and don’t just stand up against me for the fact that I don’t know everything.”
Conner went towards Angel, “I’m not going to be walked on,” he growled.
“Then don’t, fight when you need to fight, but you need to hide when you need to hide,” said Angel.
Spike was looking at his beer bottle, “I think this is a good amount for me.”
“Hiding could be just what they want us to do,” said Conner, Emma was awake, looking up at them. Conner kept talking, “We’re backed up into a corner, and we’re surrounded by those people, things whatever they are.”
“Conner, you think you can do better?” demanded Angel.
“Maybe,” said Conner, “I’m not the leading type-”
“But you think you can do better, doesn’t matter if you’re the leading type, I never wanted to care for other people, I wanted to just help them,” said Angel.
“So, none of us wanted to be chased down!” roared Conner his eyes going yellow, “That’s what we’re doing here.”
“Don’t get angry at me Conner,” said Angel, “Just because I’m taking care of all your butts.”
“I’m doing the reading,” said Wesley plainly.
“Thank You,” said Angel, “I’m very happy you have helped me, seems you’re the only one I can trust.”
“This is getting stupid,” said Emma standing up.
“I’m not stupid,” growled Conner.
“Didn’t say it,” said Emma.
“Are we going to beat the evil or not?” questioned Spike.
“Yes,” they all said.
“Then why are we all fighting?” asked Spike, “Fine,” he pointed to Angel then to Conner, “You two don’t agree, hell I don’t agree. I’m not the leading type either. I’ve always been a loner, either that or under the command of Buffy.”
They all were quiet, then Spike began again, “Wes boy, you got a rant?”
“I’ve already ranted, earlier this year,” said Wesley.
“I didn’t say you were stupid Conner,” said Emma looking at Conner, “I meant the fighting was, wonky like.”
Conner looked down. Angel then stepped towards Conner, “You don’t like what I do. What I choose, you and whoever agrees with you, can get the hell out of here and do whatever you think is worth it, just don’t get possessed or killed.”
Angel’s son looked around the room, at the group around him. Then he said firmly, “Fine, anyone willing to go with me?”
Everyone was quiet, everyone. Emma looked down thinking about it, she looked up, went towards Conner, “I want these things dead.”
Spike got off the top of the frig where he sat, “I’m going where my daughter goes.”
“Fine,” said Angel, he looked at Wesley, “You want to go, you can. I won’t judge you. Won’t stop you.”
“You’ve been my friend, for many years Angel. I believe from what I’ve witnessed the past, you’ll come through,” said Wesley, “I’m staying with you.”
“Lets go,” said Conner.
Emma, Spike and Conner went out of the Crypt. Angel just stood there his arms folded. Watching them take some big chances.
Conner’s gang walked across the symmetry. Spike closed the door behind them. Emma and Conner walked next to each other, “We’re going back to that magic shop,” said Conner.
Emma was putting on her black jacket, Conner stood in his blue jean jacket as they walked [I had to say that for some reason.] Emma grabbed his hand and held it as they walked. Conner just looked straight forward as he held her hand firmly, in a way lovingly.
----------------------------
TIME SLOWLY PAST. Angel was pacing, Wesley stood up, “Angel, you have full right to be worried about your son.”
“Of course,” said Angel, “I’m just worried he’s going to get them into something they come out of.”
“Angel, do you have any faith, that Conner has you in him enough to know what he’s doing?” questioned Wesley.
“I don’t know what I’m doing,” said Angel, “I’m not so sure now we’re all going to get through this safely.”
“You weren’t sure before,” said Wesley.
“I’m just worried Wes,” said Angel, “The way I get worried every time we’re in danger,” he looked at Wesley, “Manly kind of course.”
Wesley shook his head to him.
----------------------------
CONNER, EMMA, AND SPIKE STEPPED INTO THE MAGIC SHOP. The cloaked men were still on the floor, dead. When they got in, stepping over the glass in the room, Conner grabbed one up by the cloak, dead no matter what, he put the man on the cash register counter.
He looked at the man’s cloak, nothing special about them. Spike was looking around the room, “There all dead,” said Conner.
“Did you expect them to be alive?” questioned Spike.
“No,” said Conner plainly, Conner searched the dead man for anything.
Emma was looking at the magical items on the shelves, “Got to be something.”
“Fancy knives,” said Spike picking up one of there knives and looking at it, “Don’t like to use them much do they?”
Emma picked up one’s sword, “Think that the Descendants watch us all the time?”
“Ultimate Peeping Toms,” said Spike plainly.
Conner saw a crystal around the man’s neck and pulled it off of the man, “Do they all have this?”
Emma and Spike looked at Conner, Emma pulled one’s cloak open, “This one has one.”
“So does this one,” said Spike bending over one.
Emma pulled broke the chain and then looked at the crystal, “What do you think it does?”
Spike put one on, he stood there with his eyes closed. Thinking about if the thing dead anything, “Not giving me any tingly sensations. If it’s mystical.”
Emma sat on the counter and looked at the one she had in the light, “Just a stone.”
“Maybe it just shows who they are,” suggested Conner.
Suddenly a stake went through Spike’s heart, Spike just stood there, “What the bloody hell, owe.” Spike turned around and punched the cloaked man in the face and he landed on the ground.
Emma pulled the stake out of her dad’s back, “The amulet thingy makes you not die.”
“Cool,” said Spike.
“Take them off of the cloaked guys,” said Conner.
Emma started pulling the amulets off. A couple of them got up before they got the amulets. One went to punch Emma, Emma blocked his blow and kneed him in the stomach. The man then spun around and went to kick her. She grabbed his leg and threw him to the ground.
Conner grabbed one from behind and snapped his neck then ripped the chain off and smashed it. Another came at him from behind with a sword. Conner swung around and blocked the blade with his arm, the blade broke and a gash in Conner’s arm healed. He kicked down that cloaked man.
Spike was punched in the face, he flew down on the ground then flipped back up and spun around and kicked the puncher. He jumped up as the puncher tried to kick him off his feet. Emma threw Spike a sword and Spike sliced the man’s head off as one came from the left.
He hit the other one on the left in the face with the hilt of his sword and kicked him in the chest then stabbed him in the head.
Emma back flipped and kicked two of them down. She landed on her feet then grabbed out her dagger and sliced one’s throat then the other’s.
Spike was thrown against a wall out of nowhere, nothing there to do the throwing. Spike started acting like something was shocking him, he was yelling in pain shaking in the floor, “Oh, hell,” he growled.
Emma dropped the amulets in her hand cause they burnt her hand. Conner jumped up and kicked two down then spun around and punched them both in the face. Grabbed one by the cloak and slammed him through the counter. The amulets burnt Conner’s hand.
One kicked Emma in the face, then kicked her again. Emma fell backwards. The thing punched her in the face then went to put the amulet around her. Emma rolled backwards on her feet and started punching the cloaked the man quickly.
Emma was stabbed in the back by one, while another grabbed her arm. She went down, “GET OUT OF HERE!!” she yelled to Conner, but he wouldn’t listen.
He was punched in the face. He kicked the cloaked man’s head off his eyes going yellow, then ripped the thing off of him anyway. His hand burned he spun around and punched two down. Inhumanly quickly he grabbed the two by the legs and threw them through one of the shelves of stuff. Things over there started to blow up.
Emma threw her captors off her, her eyes yellow. She went to Spike, he was out cold. One of the cloaked men grabbed for her hair. Emma elbowed him in the face. Didn’t help any. Emma flipped over him grabbed him by the head and broke his neck.
Conner went down as the cloaked men started beating him down with large pieces of wood. Emma had her hands quickly chained behind her back. She pulled against them, couldn’t get her hands loose. One put an amulet around her neck, and her eyes rolled back as jolts of electricity went through her.
Spike was picked up and dragged out of the building. Conner was hit over the head. They were all chained up by the hands and beaten up badly. Then dragged out of the building.
----------------------------
“I NEED TO GO OUT THERE AND FIND CONNER,” said Angel, “I’ve got a bad feeling.”
“That’s expected,” said Wesley.
“But this feeling Wes, it’s, it’s like I know something is wrong,” said Angel.
“Where do you think they would have gone?” asked Wesley.
Angel thought about it for a long moment, “Where?” he asked himself, “Anywhere that we’ve ever met up with those cloaked guys.”
“Then I’m willing to go with you there to see what happened,” said Wesley, “If you really think something has gone wrong and that we need to, fix it.”
“Alright,” said Angel.
----------------------------
IN NO TIME EMMA, SPIKE, AND CONNER WERE AWAKE. They were in a cell, bars. It was cold too. Their hands were chained down on the floor, so they couldn’t do anything really. Emma was the first awake, pulling at the chains. Trying to brake them.
“Where are we?” asked Spike.
“Somewhere,” said Emma, “The Descendants got what they wanted.”
“I’m sorry,” said Conner looking down.
“Just try to get out of the chains,” said Emma, “It’s not your fault.”
“Emma’s right,” said Spike, he wanted to kind of rub it in his face but he didn’t feel he was that mean, “You’ve excelled us farther in a night then Angel has in months.”
Conner just looked at him, “I wouldn’t try to escape if I were you,” said Lindsey walking into the holding area.
The only thing between them, bars.
“Lindsey?” questioned Spike.
“Long time no see Spike,” said Lindsey, his eyes black.
“What happened to your eyes man?” asked Spike, “Oh, just to warn you. When I get out of these chains I’m going to rip you to bits.”
“I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that,” smiled Lindsey.
“Oh, want to bet?” asked Spike.
“Okay,” said Lindsey.
“You’ve put yourself into something deep,” said Emma plainly.
Lindsey looked over to the door in as several hooded men walked into the room, “Good,” said Lindsey, “Just in time, now we don’t have to worry about them getting out of those chains.”
The door to the cell flew open. The cloaked men went into the cell and grabbed them and dragged them out of there.
They couldn’t move against there enemies well being that their legs were chained together. The cloaked men dragged them into the man room of the monastery, it was lit and everything.
----------------------------
ANGEL AND WES STEPPED OVER THE DEAD CLOAKED MEN’S BODIES IN THE MAGIC SHOP. These didn’t have any amulets. So they were dead.
“Definitely here,” said Angel.
“How can you tell?” asked Wesley.
“The bodies are all arranged differently,” replied Angel.
Angel knelt down and touched some blood on the floor, he brought it to his nose, “Conner’s, I was right something bad happened.”
As soon as Angel said that, The Powers That Be sent him a reply. Angel looked up at the ceiling as his mind flooded with images.
Angel saw a book sitting on a desk, it had and odd ‘S’ in it. Then he saw Emma, Spike, and Conner’s fight quickly, little flashes. Spike going down like he was being electrocuted. Emma and Conner being beaten unconscious. Or for Emma, injected with something.
Them being dragged out. He got flashes of the meeting between, Lindsey, Lilah, Holland, and Reed. He stood up still getting flashes, Lindsey standing in the middle of the circle of dancing and chanting monks. Lorne shooting Lindsey.
“What’s wrong Angel?” questioned Wesley.
Angel saw Wesley in a flash standing at the entrance of the Monastery, he had that book in his hands. He heard The Descendants laughing at him. There was a pool of blood in the floor, large one.
Angel came back to reality quickly, “I know where to go.”
“Where?” asked Wesley.
“We need to get a book, there’s a spell,” said Angel.
“What just went on?” asked Wesley.
“I just had an epiphany,” said Angel, “From The Powers.”
----------------------------
EMMA, CONNER AND SPIKE HAD THERE BACKS TO EACH OTHER. The amulets were removed from there necks, “What are you goanna do with us?” demanded Emma, “Let the Senior Partners embody us?”
“You know the plan, but not Spike, we’re going to kill him,” said Lindsey.
Emma looked at Lindsey angrily, “So which of you are The Descendants?”
----------------------------
“WE WILL BE REBORN IN THEM,” said the voice in the phone.
Still in the board room, “Lindsey asks too many questions sir,” said Lilah.
“I just wondered,” said Lindsey.
“They will rise up from the puddles of hell and destroy,” said the voice, “Or killers. They’ll be something that Angel and anyone in league with him have ever seen.”
“Well isn’t that festive,” stated Lilah folding her hands elegantly on the top of the table.
“You’ll see Lindsey McDonald,” said the voice.
“I will?” questioned Lindsey.
“You will be there, we can guarantee it, to us rise in new form,” said the voice, “You will also be that day rewarded.”
“Too kind,” said Lindsey.
“Yes, or Senior Partners are too kind,” said Holland, smile on his face. Then that booming voice in the phone laughed at him. Holland looked down at the phone, “See you in hell.”
The Senior Partner on the other line was laughing hysterically on the other line. That made Holland feel kind of bad.
----------------------------
“TALK ABOUT WAKING YOU UP IN THE MORNING,” stated Spike, he saw a large puddle of blood in the middle of the floor. That statement didn’t affect anyone.
Everyone in the room was quiet, like they were waiting for something. The blood started moving, Emma looked at it, “I bet that’s not just your ordinary blood splatter.”
“Silence,” said Lindsey.
The doors into the monastery flew open, Wesley stood at the door in, “Enectra Dorium U-Monas!” [I’m just typing gibberish.] The amulets on all of the cloaked figures were destroyed, turned into dust. The blood stopped moving.
Emma, Spike, and Conner had been sitting back on the balls of there feet chained up. Emma then suddenly stood up dropping the piece of metal she’d used to pick herself loose. She went to Spike to start to get him out but one of the minions in his cloak threw a knife at her. She rolled away and onto his feet.
Conner grabbed the pin that Emma had dropped and backed up to Spike and started trying to undo him, but the cloaked men wouldn’t want that happening.
Angel came into the monastery armed with a sword. He spun around and sliced one’s head off, went sword to sword with another. He kicked at that one, they backed up and Angel stabbed him in the stomach. He pulled the sword from him and jumped up as another cloaked man tried to kick him off his feet.
Wesley pulled a sword out and was fighting as well. Conner was undoing Spike’s shackles, “Hurry up boy.”
“I’ll let you keep them on,” said Conner.
Conner dropped the pen as he was getting Spike’s wrist, gotten his own feet of course. They both stood up and some of the cloaked men came at them. Spike kicked one in the head, Conner jumped up and grabbed one on the side of the head with both his feet and broke his neck in the air. He landed.
Spike and Conner backed up into each other, “Okay, you grab mines, I grab yours.”
“Okay,” said Conner.
“Count of three,” said Spike.
“Sure,” said Conner.
“1...2...3.. Now,” growled Spike.
Conner and Spike pulled apart breaking each other’s chains. One went at Spike, he went to punch that one in the face but the guy ducked and punched him in the stomach. Spike fell backwards, his face went vampire, “If that’s how you want to play it mate.”
Conner kicked one off his feet and kicked him down in the head. One went to punch Conner in the head, Conner ducked out of the way and back kicked him. Put the man in a head lock and broke his neck with a swift movement.
Wesley stabbed one in the chest passed the sword to Emma. Emma twirled around and sliced one’s head off then kicked another and tossed the sword back to Wes. Back and forth.
Angel stabbed one in the chest and looked around for Lindsey, no where in sight. Angel sniffed the air for his friend and followed the scent.
The ones left in the main chambers, Emma, Conner, Spike, and Wesley, they had a different problem. Yeah, they beat all the minions, but the minions weren’t the only ones to beat.
The blood started moving again, like there were two sets of hands coming out of the bubbles. There was some kind of dry layer of goop over the puddle. The beings screeched loudly as they pulled themselves from the puddles.
“Those were those teenagers,” said Spike.
They pulled themselves up out of the puddle, Spike ran at one but then the being covered in whatever they were covered in wasn’t there. Spike gripped Wes’ sword in hand waiting, looking. The other one looked him in the eyes angrily. The being made a swift movement with it’s hand and Spike flew back on the ground, slid across the floor.
“We are The Descendants,” laughed both of them.
“Wolfram & Hart Senior Partners, reborn,” said Wesley, “They could have a great amount of power-”
“Don’t need the pep talk in a time of crisis Percy,” said Spike.
Conner’s eyes went yellow, Emma’s did too. The beings made a screeching sound.
One looked female, the other male. Covered in that red goop, white skin, long black hair, and there eyes were black as well. They wore black robes, which you’d just expect them to come on naked. The robes made of some soft material, but of course they wouldn’t be fondled in battle by anyone from Angel Investigations.
----------------------------
“WHERE ARE YOU LINDSEY?” questioned Angel standing in a room full of cells, boxes, “I can smell you.” Lindsey made no reply, Angel gripped his sword, “You’re in here.”
Suddenly a sword came down for his head, Angel blocked the blow inhumanly fast, Lindsey pulled away. They ended up quickly circling each other, “Lindsey, what do you think you signed up for anyway?”
“Nothing,” said Lindsey, “What about you Angel, you think you signed up for anything?”
“Don’t you people die?” asked Angel.
“Not as it seems,” said Lindsey, “But I didn’t die Angel. Lorne shot me, just wounded me. I spent a month in a coma, and then I had to be left live a life.”
“Are you going to try and make me cry?” asked Angel.
“No,” said Lindsey frankly, he went at Angel but didn’t strike. He ducked out of Angel’s blow as Angel tried to block Lindsey’s. Lindsey then stabbed Angel in the stomach, “Make you bleed.”
Angel winced and pulled away he was behind Lindsey. Lindsey jumped up and flipped over Angel, then inhumanly quick, he punched Angel into a wall. Angel slid down the wall, “Lindsey.”
“What Angel?” asked Lindsey, letting Angel get his bearings.
Angel picked his sword up, “You talk too much.”
Angel swung his sword at Lindsey just to either kill him or start the battle again. Lindsey ducked out of the way went down to kick Angel off his feet, Angel jumped out of the way of his leg. Lindsey moved from Angel, “You know what, living a life after Wolfram & Hart is hard.”
“You should have just bought a self help book Lindsey,” said Angel.
That stab wound didn’t affect Angel a bit. Him and Lindsey were hitting swords back and forth.
Lindsey stepped away breathing harder, “Doctors told me I might have a heart problem, Senior Partners gave me something new. See you can’t live a life Angel outside Wolfram & Hart, cause the keep drawing you back in.”
Angel put down his sword, “The Senior Partners give you something nice?”
“Gave me the power to really beat you,” growled Lindsey.
As Angel went towards Lindsey, Lindsey threw down his sword and blocked the blow. Grabbed Angel’s fist and threw him into the wall behind him, “Angel,” Angel had went through the stone and was in another room, Lindsey finished talking, “Things are coming back to bite you in the ass.”
Angel stood back up, “Don’t I know it.”
----------------------------
WESLEY HAD HIS MAGIC BOOK AND WAS SAYING RANDOM THINGS FROM IT. That didn’t help when he was thrown magically by his own spell into the wall. He fell down it, blood coming out of the back of his head. Conner went at one of the demon’s jumped up and went to kick it in the head.
The demon took the blow, hardly fazing, then the demon went to punch Conner. Conner went down on his head, blood dripped from his ears, then healed.
Emma had the other one. Spike joined in, Spike went to punch the demon but Spike was grabbed by the leather jacket and thrown down. Emma punched the demon girl a punch a second then punched her in the head. The demon woman put her hand out and Emma was thrown down on the ground, her eyes started bleeding and she started moaning in pain.
Conner was slammed to the ground and again, he healed Wesley. Wesley quickly went back to his book, yelling stuff.
----------------------------
“WHAT IS IT LINDSEY?” question Angel getting out of the wall, “Starting to turn into your father so you don’t want to be human enough to be him anymore.”
Lindsey punched Angel in the face. Angel went down blood going down the side of his face. Angel just stood up, ready to go. Lindsey jumped up and kicked Angel, but Angel ducked. He punched Lindsey in the face.
Lindsey went backwards wiping the blood from his lip. Angel looked at the stuff around him and picked up a piece of ply wood and went to hit Lindsey again. Lindsey ducked out of the way and punched the ply wood in half. Then he punched Angel again.
Angel grabbed Lindsey’s fist and making himself go vampire he sunk his teeth into Lindsey’s wrist. Lindsey yelled in pain. Angel felt his insides burn inside him as he drank from Lindsey, felt great. Angel let go, “Oh, that’s different.”
He was punched in the face and he went backwards. Lindsey went to kick him in the stomach. Angel caught his foot and flung him into the wall then went back towards him.
Lindsey stood up and jumped at Angel, he pushed him into a wall, Angel pushed him into a wall. Lindsey kneed Angel in the crotch then punched him with an upwards hand. Angel fell down on the ground.
----------------------------
EMMA KNEED THE FEMALE IN THE FACE. Then punched her in the head. But the demon like woman grabbed Emma and slammed her down on the ground. Spike was being beaten badly, blood dripping from his mouth, his nose.
Conner hadn’t woken up from being knocked out yet. Wesley was looking for spells, but then his book caught on fire and he had to put it down. The male was laughing at him, “Think you can take us down?!” demeaned the thing, “I am Millennia older than you and far wiser.”
Conner woke back up and grabbed him from behind but the thing grabbed Conner’s forearms and flipped him over him and then sunk his teeth into Conner’s throat viciously. Conner yelled in pain.
Emma was laying on the floor having her stomach kicked in. Healing wasn’t working anymore. Wesley grabbed his sword and stabbed the one sucking blood from Conner. The think went backwards and screeched loudly.
The floor shook as the person healed. Emma bit into the females leg and she pulled back.
----------------------------
“I’M NOT LIKE YOU LINDSEY,” said Angel standing over Lindsey, “I can get away from Wolfram & Hart, and I can destroy them.”
Lindsey stood back up laughing, the two of them bloody. Angel just looked at Lindsey. Lindsey kept laughing, “You’re not, and you can’t defeat the descendants.”
“What because they’re a back up plan?” asked Angel, “You know Lindsey, you talk too much.”
Angel punched him in the head and he sunk his teeth into Lindsey’s throat. Lindsey growled in pain as Angel drank from him.
----------------------------
IS STARTED TO RAIN OUTSIDE. Spike was out cold. Emma was hemorrhaging. Conner was in the grasp of the male one, Conner had his neck broken. He landed on the ground with a silencing thump, just because it was really quiet.
“We are The Descendants, we are infinite,” said the two, “We will conquer. Lindsey has fallen to the hands of Angel, but we will not be deceived and conquered in such a manner at all.”
The two of them were gone suddenly. Emma edged towards Conner and looked down at him, Conner wasn’t doing anything. Emma started crying, covered in blood, crying. She felt like she’d faint. Emma laid her head on Conner’s chest and cried with what was left of her.
Wesley moved faintly, he was in the mood for a hospital visit. Spike was unconscious.
----------------------------
THE DESCENDANTS STOOD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MALL. “Level the ground here,” said one of them, “Destruction ours. Everything put in place, it all ours.”
People were running around screaming from them, “What do you think you’re doing?” demanded Angel standing on the second floor, “This isn’t your town anymore.”
The Descendants looked to him, “You wish to be part in our comrade’s resurrections vampire?”
Angel jumped down from the second floor and wielding a sword, “You’ve played with my mind, you’ve played with my son’s, my people.”
The Descendants smiled, “You think your words large, ha. We are not Illyria, we are not anything you’ve ever met.”
“I could bet you money different,” said Angel, “I’ve been around awhile.”
“Money means nothing now,” said the voice.
“NOW!!” yelled a voice, people were in the higher levels of the building.
Many people in suites, men women. There was a chanting sound, Angel was confused. The Descendants curled over in pain. Screeching, the room was shaking. Angel didn’t understand what was going on. The Descendants melted into a puddle of blood and tried to get into the floor.
The chanting stopped and man brought forth a thing that look like a turkey vaster and got all the blood up that he could in with one squeeze up the top mechanism.
“Who are you people?” questioned Angel looking around him.
“Hello Angel,” said the prim voice of Waltz, but he didn’t look the way he did, he was completely clean looking, just fine.
“Waltz?” questioned Angel, “What’s this?”
Waltz smiled, “Just some friends, we knew you’d be needing a little bit of help with your, Apocalypse. And thought hmmm….why not help him. If I were you I’d get back to where you left your friends and inject his into Emma and Conner, bring them right back to normal.”
“Why should I trust you?” questioned Angel.
“Cause we’re not evil, and we can be future allies,” said the Waltz, he handed Angel a little metal box filled with syringes.
He turned from him and walked off. Angel held the box in his hands, watching all of the suited people walk off, “Waltz?”
“Yes?” he replied looking back before he was gone.
“Are they gone?” asked Angel.
“Of course,” smiled Waltz shaking his head yes and walking away finally.

CONNER OPENED HIS EYES FIRST. The blood on him disappeared, he sat up looking around. Emma was having an injection of that stuff and she sat up. Healing.
Conner stood up and went to Wesley, he healed Wesley automatically, then he looked to Angel, “How’d you save the day?”
Emma healed Spike, they all stood up, Angel continued, “I didn’t. Waltz and his group of people did, whoever they are.”
“Should we worry?” asked Emma.
“I don’t think we should,” said Angel, “Not yet anyway.”
“Lindsey?” asked Spike.
“I killed him,” said Angel.
“So the bad guys are gone?” questioned Conner.
“For now,” finalized Angel.
