That night, Buffy still didn’t come home. Spike went looking for her after insisting that he go alone. He followed her scent and found her sitting next to her mother’s grave. “Buffy?”
Buffy raised her swollen face to his. “Go away,” she said.
“Why are you mad at me?” Spike asked, crouching down in front of her.
“I’m not,” Buffy said, getting up and moving away from him.
“You haven’t been this bitchy since last year. Obviously, I did something to make you mad,” Spike said, standing. “Where were you last night?”
“I went looking for you and Faith and I didn’t want to interrupt,” she said, walking away from him.
Spike grabbed her arm. “Buffy would you just talk to me?” He pleaded.
Buffy didn’t face him. “Spike, I don’t want to hurt you so please leave me alone,” she said.
Spike let go of her, but moved in front of her. “Buffy we haven’t had a fight in a long time. I don’t want to have one now. Please tell me why you’re upset,” he said, softly.
“Fine you wanna know what’s bothering me? The fact that Faith as taken everything from me is tearing me apart. She took Angel, my friends, my job, Riley, you, and now she basically kicked me out of my house. But you know what? I don’t care. I’m not going home so she can have it all,” Buffy said, leaving Spike with tears in her eyes.
Spike went after her. “Buffy, wait a minute,” he said, grabbing her arm. “What are you talking about?”
“Nothing,” Buffy whimpered. “Go home and make sure Dawn understands,” she said, yanking her arm free. “Just leave me alone.”
“No, Buffy stop,” Spike said, grabbing her arm again. “I cant make Dawn understand if I don’t understand myself.”
“You will understand,” Buffy said. “When you go home and lay with Faith, you’ll understand.”
This time when she walked away, Spike let her.
Buffy made her way to the mansion and pulled out her cell phone. She dialed the number for the hotel and waited.
“Hello?” Came Angel’s voice.
“Angel?” Buffy whimpered.
“Buffy?” Angel asked. “Are you okay?”
“No Angel,” Buffy bawled. “Willow brought Faith here and she took everything!”
“Wait Buffy,” Angel said. “Slow down. Where are you?”
“The mansion. I cant go home,” Buffy said, trying to calm down.
“Don’t go anywhere. I’m on my way,” Angel said, hanging up.
Buffy hung up her phone and waited for Angel.
Angel rain into the mansion and had to give a small smiled at the sleeping slayer.
Buffy’s eyes fluttered opened and she smiled at Angel. “You’re here,” she whispered.
Angel came over and sat next to her. “Tell me what happened,” he said.
Buffy proceeded to tell him everything. “Angel, I know you hate Spike but I need him. Faith took him from me and my role as leader. I don’t know what to do,” she whimpered, curled up in his lap.
“Come on. I’ll take you home and we’ll get this sorted out,” he said, standing with her in her arms.
Buffy nodded against him. “I just want something that’s mine for once,” she said, softly. “I feel so lost and I didn’t know what to do. I really needed you.”
Angel kissed her forehead. “I’ll talk care of everything,” he said, softly.
