In the Sunnydale's engineering section, Xander Harris has not having a good day. His staff was running around trying to find the cause of the warp field failure. A technician walks up to him with a computer pad.
TECHINICAN-
"Lieutenant Harris, I think we found the problem." He hands Xander with pad. 'Damn, the coupling finally went off. Surprised it lasted this long.' Xander taps his comm badge.
XANDER-
"Giles, I found the problem."
GILES (over the comm badge)-
"What is it, Xander?"
XANDER-
"The EPS coupling finally went out. Warp drive is totally down. I can have it back up in a few hours...."
GILES-
"No...we have a Borg Cube on the way. Stand by."
On the bridge, Giles leaned back in the Captain's chair. They had no time to repair the engines.
GILES-
"Faith, hail the Enterprise."
FAITH-
"Channel open."
GILES-
"Captain Picard, this is Giles. We have lost our EPS coupling and with no time to repair it, I would like to transport my crew to the Enterprise."
PICARD-
"Understood....we are standing by." Suddenly, Giles gets an idea. The Sunnydale was lost....but maybe she still has a purpose.
GILES-
"Faith, how long until the Borg Cube reaches us?"
FAITH-
"About thirty minutes."
GILES-
"Lieutenant Harris to the bridge. Wesley, any thoughts?"
WESLEY-
"I think I know what you are thinking."
GILES-
"Will it be enough?"
WESLEY-
"Yes, Captain...no question about that." Xander exits the turbolift and walks towards Giles and Wesley.
GILES-
"Xander, I'm putting you in charge of the evacuation. Commander Wyndam-Pryce and Commander Lehane will stay here with me. Proceed."
Ten minutes later, the Sunnydale had only three people on it: Giles, Wesley, and Faith.
GILES-
"Sunnydale to Enterprise, lock on to our comm badges and wait for my signal." He walks over to the science station, normally Willow's console. "Computer: Security Access Requested."
COMPUTER-
"Voice print confirmed."
GILES-
"Computer, this is Captain Rupert Giles, commanding officer. Destruct sequence 1 Alpha 64 Beta."
WESLEY-
"Computer, this is Commander Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, first officer. Destruct sequence 2 Beta 82 Delta."
FAITH-
"Computer, this is Lieutenant Commander Faith Lehane, tactical officer. Destruct sequence 3 Delta 91 Epislon."
COMPUTER-
"Destruct code completed and engaged. Waiting for final countdown code."
GILES-
"Computer: Destruct code 362 destruct 1. Silent countdown 20 minutes...enable."
COMPUTER-
"Self destruct enable." Giles taps on his comm badge.
GILES-
"Enterprise....three to beam on board." Giles, Wesley, and Faith disappear in the transport beam.
The Enterprise turns around and jumps to warp, leaving the now derelict Sunnydale drifting in space. The Cube approaches it, and a beam scans the Sunnydale. Suddenly, the small starship explodes into a brillant flash of light as all the anti-matter and matter in the engine core collide. The planet size explosion destroys the Sunnydale and the Cube.
