After she left, Spike grabbed his coat and went to Wolfram and Hart.
Angel looked up as his childe came in. They had gotten closer and Angel could tell something was wrong. “Spike, you okay?” He asked.
Spike wiped away his tears. “Can you do something for me?” He asked.
“Like what?” Angel asked, going toward him.
“I need divorce papers,” Spike said.
“Divorce?” Angel asked, shocked.
“Please?” Spike asked, as new tears slid down his face.
“Yeah. I’ll take care of it,” Angel said.
“Thanks,” Spike whispered.
“You wanna talk about it?” Angel asked.
Spike sat on Angel’s sofa. “She’s been cheating,” Spike said.
Angel went and sat next to him. “She’s gunna be upset,” he said.
“Angel she…” Spike paused. “I love her so much but I cant forgive her.”
Angel nodded in acceptance. “I‘ll get the papers,” he said, getting up.
Spike smiled a little before leaving.
“Spike?” Harmony asked, coming over to him.
“Harm, not now, please,” Spike said.
“I didn’t come over here to pester you,” she said. “I just wanted to know if you needed anything.”
Spike looked at her and his eyes softened and he gave her soft smile. “No thanks, Harmony. I’ll be okay,” He said.
Harmony smiled little. “I just wanted to let you know I’m here for you,” she said.
“Is my old apartment still open?” Spike asked.
“Yeah,” Harmony said. “I have your key if you need it.”
“I do,” Spike said, as Angel came out of the office.
“Do you want me to give them to her or do you want to do it?” Angel asked.
“I’ll do it,” Spike said. “Is it okay if I move back upstairs?”
Angel nodded. “Lemme know if you need anything.”
“I know,” Spike said, looking at him before leaving.
Spike drove to Buffy’s house and knocked on the door.
Buffy opened the door and her eyes lit up. “Spike,” she said.
“We have to talk,” Spike said.
Buffy nodded and let him in.
They went to the living room and Buffy sat on the couch. “What do you wanna talk about, besides the obvious?” Buffy asked.
Spike handed her the envelope wordlessly.
With a frown Buffy took the envelope and opened it. Tears came to her eyes as she glanced at them quickly. “You…. Wanna get a divorce?” She asked, with disbelief.
Spike bowed his head.
Buffy stood up and went toward him. “Spike, I’m sorry,” she whispered. “There has to be a way to fix this.”
“Buffy you’ve been lying to me for god knows how long,” Spike said.
Buffy closed her eyes. “There’s a reason and I cant tell you,” she said.
“Buffy, I’m your husband,” Spike said.
Buffy took him and sat him on the couch. “I have a contract with this guy who runs the club,” she said, holding his hand in hers.
“So?” Spike asked, not seeing the problem with her having a contract with her boss.
“If I don’t do exactly as he says he’s gunna take Erica away,” she whispered.
“What?” Spike asked.
“I don’t know how to get out of it and he said there were gunna be consequences if I told anyone,” she said. “I couldn’t tell you but I wanted to.”
Spike squeezed her hands and pulled her to his feet. “Come on,” he said, taking her to the door.
“Where are we going?” Buffy asked, wiping her eyes.
“Angel’s,” Spike said, getting in the car.
