In deep space, the Enterprise and the much smaller Sunnydale cruise through space. In the briefing room on Enterprise, Giles stares at Picard, drumming his fingers on the black table.
GILES-
"You really think this would work?"
PICARD-
"Yes, I do. Captain, you must remember, however, that with Lieutenant Rosenberg and Ensign Summers may never be the same after this. I know I wasn't."
BUFFY-
"Can we really turn them back?"
CRUSHER-
"It's very possible."
PCIARD-
"Data?"
DATA-
"According to Starfleet Intelligence and our own recent experience with the Borg, they will not attack the away team unless they believe they are under attack. I believe that this will happen after placing the comm badges on Lieutenant Rosenberg and Ensign Summers." Suddenly, the ship's intercom sounds.
RIKER-
"Captain, the Borg Cube is on our sensors."
PICARD-
"Understood, Number One. Everyone to your positions."
Inside the Borg Cube, Buffy, Anya, Crusher, Data, and Riker beam in. Buffy gribs her phaser rifle in her hands. She reaches up with her free hand and unbottons her gold colored neck collar. The heat and humitiy was already making her sweat. She looked at the team. They were all feeling it, except for Data of course. He lead the way until he came up to a long corridor. Buffy looks at the far wall. Standing inside a Borg terminal was Willow and Dawn, half of their faces covered by black mechanical masks. Their bodies were covered with similar devices and hoses, and they were both bald.
BUFFY-
"Dawn....Willow...." Suddenly, Willow and Dawn wakes up. They step out on the terminals and begin to "zombie walk" towards the group.
DAWN-
"WE ARE BORG...."
WILLOW-
"....YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGY WILL BE ADAPTED TO SERVICE US...."
DAWN and WILLOW-
"RESISTANCE IS FUTILE."
Data suddenly runs up and slaps the comm badges on them and Willow and Dawn are transported to the Enterprise sickbay. The other Borg in that area begin to wake up. Buffy shoots the closest one and he explodes into a series and sparks and falls to the ground. Data takes out two more. Riker fires, but his shot is doesn't do anything.
RIKER-
"They've adapted...." Suddenly, the group is beamed back to the Enterprise.
Outside, the Enterprise and Sunnydale turn around away from the Borg Cube, and jumps to warp.
